    Not the best but works. Why one star? It clearly states on the housing that the filter must be replaced every six months. But (BUT!!!) you won't be able to find that filter anywhere including worx's own site. In other words, it becomes unusable pretty soon.

    Hi Mike :) I have two questions: 1. How long do you think this washer will last? Will it last about 50 car washes? 2. Is it possible to install a battery adapter for dewalt batteries and use Dewalt 18V 5Ah XR series 5-pin battery?

    • @mikesptworld

      Hey :-) the nitro range now comes with a 5 year warranty and the brushless motor is backed by a 10 year warranty, just make sure you register within 30 days of purchase, :-) with regard to the battery mod.... probably not without fairly extensive modification. The wg633 comes with a waterproof battery case enabling it a higher ip rating you would need to explore removing the case and modifying it leaving behind the contacts removing the water proof box, if you did this it would likely void the warranty - that said a 5 year warranty is pretty strong so take it as a bold confidence boost to the quality of the products. I have over 70 worx tools and have had 2 arrive DOA, both were maker x products, one a soldering iron with a misaligned screen the other the mini angle grinder that worked for two seconds went forward then flay out backwards and stopped!? both were replaced within 3 days, all the other tools, mowers, batteries, chargers strimmers, chainsaws DIY tools etc all still work just as well as the day I bought them, some have cosmetic wearing and dirt in their crevices, and some have scuffed and faded writing and labels but on the whole still function and are just as powerful as the day they were made, overall are amazing for their cost vs longevity - a fact that I can only see getting better and better over the years I have had my worx tools. Indeed the wg633 is now a good year and a half old now and it is still strong as an ox and works just as good now as it did when new (probably upwards of 90 x 4ah batteries used through it including fence panel prep, car and bike washing, patio care and hot tub cleaning along with filters and internals too.

    Nice review Mike. Yet again, I don’t need to read the manual now when I get mine! Looking forward to getting dusty on a few projects. One point: perhaps the large, multi-diameter adaptor for the workshop extractor could have a more flexible hose between it and the Sandeck to allow for ease of movement. Just a thought.

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld 5 днів тому

      just using a pre adapted hose is probably smarter option. though when i get my overhead extractin tubing system in place it may be a smarter option though for an average joe setup this is more than adequate, i mean if you have a 6 foot tal dust extractor then you most probably also have enough room for a smaller size shop vac too 😛 - the bag it comes with is sufficient for most peoples use. you will always get dusty, it is nearly impossible to negate every last speck of dust - if you know of a way to make wood work meet a rolls Royce factory then please take my money! :-D

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld 2 дні тому

      Define 'power' it has a more powerful brushless motor and chucks a bigger diameter twin string cassette compared to the wg163 with it's single string casette, it will run for approximately 30minutes on a full 4ah battery. I use it to do approximately 400m of the perimeter of my property, and it does it just fine. It's very capable and an ideal upgrade to the wg163, it is just that though an upgrade, rather than a brushless version of the wg163

    How is the brush with getting hair tangled in it, and how do you clean it?

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld 9 днів тому

      It has real easy one touch removal, small keyway on the base, flick it open and the brush and one end cap pulls straight out, super easy, it has spiral cut outs to run scissor blades or the hilt of a knife down to clear it off, though generally speaking it's only real long human hair that ends up wrapping round the brush.

I was just out cutting my complex and some idiot left a tie strap in the grass and it jammed up. took blade off removed everything jammed up but it not just doesnt start. • @mikesptworld

      Sounds like a primary fuse has blown though I have never experienced this first hand I have noted in the new batteries they feature a fusible link between the positive final terminal and the main board has a narrow section to act as a fuse if ultra-high current is discharged. Any battery post 2021ish has this feature I believe. Another thing that could have happened is the commutator on the brushed motor could have been fouled - a simple(!?) Strip down and electrical contact cleaner spray could solve it or if the brushes have been singed then they may be sticking in their tracks, another job for isopropyl alcohol or contact cleaner and a gentle swipe with fine abrasive if the brushes are removable to remove any burrs, after that I am a bit out of ideas, apart from looking for SMD's or following where the uncapturable white smoke has come from I am at a loss, poor soldering connections, loose wires, attempt to trace the circuit..... long arduous process after that I fear,

      I can't honestly say for these exact ones, though I bought some (6) for the wg163 that were aftermarket specials - 4 years later Iater I have given my wg163e to my father in law and still have 2 reels left! In honesty I only managed to use 1 reel a year! Though the wg173 is a bit more of an animal, I am still on my first reel :-) these are the ones I have earmarked for purchase, they don't affect warranty as long as they are classed as a consumable item much like petrol in a car, you can also keep the old reels and re wind your own reels with 1.65mm cluparis trimmer line, though the pre wound ones tend not to self bind and lock on the reel as much.

    Have you ever used anything other than a two amp battery on this because I have a four amp Worx. I tried to ask a couple times on Worx website but no one can really give me a straight answer. I ended up ordering it anyways and I’m just gonna try and see if 4 Ah will do it.

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld Місяць тому

      I have used a 4ah and a 6ah, they both fit and work, are rather heavy on the unit and compromise that ultralight feel - honestly the battery feels like the heaviest part - this weight is then doubled with a 4ah and a 6ah pack (weirdly they weigh similar weights - see my battery video for more details) the only down side is they don't fit in the upright charger slot with the 4ah pack however it does fit in the above charging slot though if you own a 4ah pack you likely own other worx tools so have a stand alone fast charger so this really is a matter of minor inconvenience.

      all you need to do is to unclip tyhe orange shield from the base of the head, it should be fairly easy to locate as the buttons / recess presses are on the side of the reel near the exit holes, remove that and either manually unwind or push the small black nub on the side of the rrel to allow the reel to move forward a little bit and dispense a little more line for you to thread through the hole, failing that remove the line, unravel a small length and thread it back through the holes, make sure you put the orange case cover back on too. hope this helps, Mike

    It looks more capable than the 163e you previously once reviewed, for not alot extra for the baretool. I wonder if you can use thicker line with it if you keep the spools. TY and hope you're doing well!

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld Місяць тому

      Thanks for the comment :-D I would say it's an upgrade from the wg163 but in reality it's only similarity is its a strimmer..... dual line for a start, slightly thicker cord, much greater mass at the head end really cries for more power, again I feel it could do with a eco / slower mode as the normal strimmer mode is quite aggressive, that said it now doubles up as a strimmer, edger and mini mower too! As the wheel comes off and sits central giving more versatility, that said it also makes it slightly less froogle on power, so 4ah required for serious use with a 2ah reserved for a quick strim on smaller gardens for sure.

    • @morgan8937
      @morgan8937 Місяць тому

      @mikesptworld Thanks to you I already have a 4ah from the hshot nitro, (still getting loads of use and going strong) as well as a spare 2ah if I run out of juice on a project. Only ever needed that 2ah if I forgot to fully charge the 4ah before use. Nice to have though just incase, or the 2ah for smaller stuff...or for between cut trimming! Lol ✂️ I went with the nitro trimmer today and it's good to see the pros you mentioned in your reply, TY. I'm hoping I can use a thicker gauge line, for cutting through slightly heavier stems (although not a dealbreaker). Defo looking forward to being able to edge and spot-mow areas that might be trickier for a mower. Brushless motor 👍 I think it's currently about £200 for the body, charger and battery combo. Possibly more if purchased as individual items. And many other brands prices creep up even higher after you make the necessary battery/ charger system purchase, with seemingly less runtime, and sometimes a less juicy battery than the 4ah. So £99, I can't complain. Actually looking forward to picking it up tomorrow. Cheers for the very insightful video.🙏and reply.

      Ok, this thing makes it too easy, in a good way! I feel like David Copperfield, strimming one handed. The wheel is great. Do I need it? No, but I will use the forward facing, sideway facing, and edging configs. It does help keep off the ground, and from scalping lawn. Most surprised about how light it is and how compact for storage. It's so light that I ended up mowing the whole lawn with it to save dragging the mower out 😅 You weren't kidding when you said it'll take on anything, yet not damage things. I was planning to keep the shield off for nimble maneuverability and easier cleaning... but that would take away the wheel connector (I think). Ergonomics. The multi angle combo's possible between the secondary handle and the deck means that no matter your height, and arm length, the ergonomics are tailor made for everyone. If I had only 2 gripes, they'd be that I wish the secondary handle could be slid down the main shaft, and that the shaft would be longer (that's what she said), because the weight at the top end can get a bit much on the right arm, especially when doing side to side action with the wheel. I notice this more because my right arm is healing from injury. Forward wheel action a breeze. The other thing is, because of the above issue, the secondary handle could do with being more girthy and padded since the user is supporting the weight and side to side swings. They need to develop four way suspension around the handle basically. 😂 Seriously though. I'm magnifying issues, this thing is brilliantly designed and requires laughably minimal effort to use. I'd recommend to any senior citizen too. Haven't tested the edger feature yet, which I think is the most exciting feature. Thanks for leading me to this product choice. @mikesptworld

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld 2 місяці тому

      Honestly it's soft enough it doesn't mark my paint, coupled with the fact that there is about 70+ layers of wax and or polish it's never going to show, I am more concerned of the car park door dings than I am about the fact that a brush may scratch a few layers of polish, however I do get the generic statement of don't use brushes on paintwork however I have done for 3 years now and I warmly welcome you to find any major paint swirling on my car caused directly from using the worx rotary brush or their flush brush, maybe it does and then they are so light they just polish out? Maybe I'm just lucky or maybe my car is such a disgusting shade of dog turd brown you never see it for being so disgusted by the colour!? :-P

It seems the more I use it the better it is.

    Thanks for the review Mike. For a lightweight vacuum, using PowerShare batteries, it seems quite competent. Your wife did seem to struggle with the design on occasion, needing two hands for control, but I guess it is all down to familiarity. At its current price point I think it is a good buy.

      I think it is the same with anything, once you are used to it it will be easier, the steering takes some getting used to, as does using the heads correctly, I think we just get complacent with cettain designs of things and sometimes struggle with change. Give it a few weeks and it will be second nature. Its just dropped in price too!!

    It does not seem to be doing that well tbh. The Gtech multi or even my shark cordless looks like it could do a better job especially on the stairs. I think the ommission of a small power head is something to worry about as that is perfect for cars, stairs and upholstry. Maybe Worx can release one as a optional extra ?

      Best bet is to contact your local worx distributor, or failing that as you are mainland Europe you could try ordering from worx Germany, they hold more than we get in the UK! failing that you could road trip it! Or maybe even ask friends or family who may be visiting to ship you one back? Amazon and ebay sometimes come up trumps on that stuff too.

    Truly amazing an in depth review Mike, thank you I was wondering for my 125cc scooter how good the short lancet is for getting under the belly pan and if I would end up with lots of scratches on the Worx unit trying to get under the underside parts anyone would know at all please?- the accessories look awesome what would be good is maybe a stand and a flexible short hose attachments and small hose gun I suppose as I plan on purchasing this and using the water bottle attachment to spray my bike down after I use it. I hope the neighbours do not mind haha

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld 2 місяці тому

      Many thanks, the rotating brush and the manual brush both have constant water running through them so self-clean, I see people comment all the time saying it will scratch your paint, and whilst they have a valid point in most cases and I respect their opinions on that, I don't have any on my vehicles by doing this, maybe its just luck, maybe I will one day, but as is the same with all my videos I speak from my own views, opinions and experiences, and It just doesn't happen. Take from that what you will but on a bike, I would recommend you pressure washer off the worst, snow foam pre wash, rinse using mist spray, snow foam shampoo, rinse mist, shampoo and scrub using a rotary brush, detail awkward spots with static brush then (honestly) use a huge variety of brushes to do some seriously fine details :-P then I drive it 5 minutes and have to start all over again. :-P

    • @michaeljameslawrence2965
      @michaeljameslawrence2965 2 місяці тому

      @@mikesptworld good ideas 💡 I noticed a bucket 🪣 of shampoo and brush left scratches compared to a hose wash. The rotary brush looks awesome 🙌, also the accessories do it for me. Would anyone know what is the biggest litre bottle you can use I have a 2 litre jug thing?, I was thinking of only using the pivoting quick connector adapter to get under the underside of my 125cc scooter 🛵 and using that as its only lance to wash and rinse 🚿 the bike down as I usually rinse the bike after every ride and using the sprayer for a deeper clean too

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld 2 місяці тому

      @michaeljameslawrence2965 personally I don't rate the pivot - at least not on the higher output hydroshots, they produce too much pressure and the tip tends to rotate itself straight every time! Maybe you could cable tie it bent upward but that defies the whole point in my opinion if you are looking for real scratch free finish - the best method is the classic 2 bucket method with a grit guard, the short lance is very short, they could do with doing a medium lance, not as short as the short nor as long as the longbor super long extension.

    • @michaeljameslawrence2965
      @michaeljameslawrence2965 2 місяці тому

      Thanks for the information have you tried the pivot on a lower pressure?, as I understand the trigger is not pressure sensitive but could you for example use the adjuster head to the pivot to change a setting to lower the pressure to stop the pivot from moving?, Also I did see a grit guard for buckets in Halfords the other day. I think for scratches I should be good with the machine-just ordered one-usually with a garden hose I would spray down, shampoo 🧴 with brush and sponge 🧽 on fairings on my scooter then rinse off and Oxford mint spray polish-that seems fine. And I am thinking of doing the same with the worx with foam gun at some point I love the accessories that along with all the other washers I looked at did it for me. This ticks all the boxes and has all the bells and whistles where as others do not or even have the 56 bar pressure on
