Thank you for a good demonstration. Very nice that you didn´t add any external effects, so that we can hear what the instrument actually sounds like. My Poly-61 (purchased in 1983) still works perfectly.

Starship used this synth in touring in the mid 80s. You can see Gabe Katona playing it in the Tampa Stadium concert in 1985. The brass poly lead sounds it blared out during that concert were so dope sounding. It made me want to get one of these.

where are the basses in this synth? I never hear demos of their abilities to create bass lines or bass lines.

I played an OB-Xa that sat on top of my Dyno Rhodes in the 80’s .. nightclub rig. I don’t know how the action is on this thing .. but it sounds great .. just like I remember. By 1989/90 these things were regularly listed in the recycler used gear ads for $500.00, heck even my Jupiter 8 only fetched $450.00 when I got rid of it then. I’m sure there is a good number of boomer aged players who now wish they’d not sold their stuff then, to buy our old gear back used is ridiculous these things get on the market, even forking out 5k for a modern OB-X8 is a real hard swallow at 5k, I mean who wants to pay 10 times the price of what they sold it for! This thing makes sense .. if it’s got a half way decent action that is .. my DeepMind 12 has the cheesiest action I’ve ever felt in doing this for 45 years now. Ok now we need the Behringer Fairlight, PPG, and Synclavier II 😉

🙄🙄🙄🙄...I got one for the last 6 months...(W-30)...I own also 5 different keyboards 🎹 synthesisers ..sampler.. workstation...arpegiators and vocoder..drum machine's..etc...but I never saw such a stupid bad menu in a keyboard like the W-30 till now...The manual is made like against musicians...🙄🙄and redundant...!!!.. 🙄🙄..a very primitive unfriendly menu ...yhe keyboard has only 2 aplha dial no +/- buttons ..no cursor left /right/ back /front ✨no effects ...🫣🫣🫣🫣..the input sampler is mono...output mono...you cannot pan anything..✨🙄🙄🙄...if you don't follow some certain steps in the menu you loose what u' ve done before ...🤔🤔🤔..the sampler has only 7.2 sec...for a sample ...at 30 khz...very poor...the loop doesn't solve the problem...🤔...no ADSR ...only TVA and TVF....I changed the FD unit with Goteck usb stickand the display but doesn't help me much ... changing the FDunit you have now to make folders on a PC...and you cannot now copy a disk...🫣...I would say bad gear and I regret buying this old primitive item...✨✨🤔🤔🤔🤔

Hello Bernd. I'm going through you seeing that you master the beast. I ordered a Ub-xa, I've I noticed that in the instructions, to make a factory set, you have to factory default and select WIPE PATCHES. The problem is that there is no such function, only the reset of the A, B, C, D banks, atrophy and a full hard reset. I also noticed that in bank A, from 118 to 127, it says preset, and in 128 a sound called Demigorgon.And all B,C and D banks are already full of sounds created. Is this normal? If I do a Full Hard Reset, do I lose all the sounds including those from Bank A? Thank you in advance for your reply and I apologize for the inconvenience.

most synths can be made to sound bad, but the juno doesn't have that feature. its only capable of sounding all good, all the time.

I was put on a waiting list last year. Finally got mine yesterday and for anybody out there that doubts after this video somethings wrong with you anyways after receiving mine I couldn’t be more pleased. I haven’t been this excited in years. Happy to do music again. Thank you, Beringer.

Can I ask which Atrophy setting you used for the first preset or did you create your own? I guess the sound is pretty basic with two saws and a slight detune. I recreated that setting on my instrument, but it sounds different right from the start. Actually it sounds more like the Anderton demo, lol.

Got a Jupiter 50 and does a fair bit of classic Juno & Jupiter sounds. In tandem with KingKorg (VA with MG, OB,P5, MS20,303 filter emulations) is a really nice set up. On top a TR-8s running CR-78 and back to the 80's it is 😅 TR-8s is clocking KingKorg for arp's.

Yes, Dream Theater.... They used it a lot on tour in the '90's. One great analog filter with resonance for each of the 8 voices.... Enough said.

Synth King, I was wondering if you have the Mercury-6 vst from Cherry Audio? It would be interesting to have some of these presets recreated in their best way possible. I’d so buy them. I’ve gotten the opportunity to play and record a JP-6 into my music at a studio twice. Although I didn’t get much time to get fully familiarized with it. I almost owned one years ago. A bit of an itch still exists to hopefully acquire one some day. And so I’ve seen how impressively close the emulation comes to the original, but it be interesting to see what your take on it would be. Even though obviously it wouldn’t match it by 100%
