Yamaha CS70m - loading patches from magnetic cards !!

- Yamaha are famous for going out on their own as far as synths are concerned. With the CS70M they've spurned everybody else's idea of cassette stored libraries of programs, and gone for slim magnetic cards that fit into a slot on the front of the synth at the far right.
The same Canon card strip readers were used on the GS1 and GS2. It has been a challenge keeping the reader mechanics operational 40 years on.
There is a write protection switch on the back panel, which enabled/disables reading/writing. I had to dismantle and clean the switch before it worked properly.
Wow that is super cool very nice set up 💯💯💯💯✌️😎💯 it sounds amazing #1

Hello
I own one cs70M
Do u know where can i find those magnetic cards?
Thanks in advance
I can’t help you with that. Sometimes they pop up on eBay, but the prices are insane (400 bucks for the book)
@@Bernd_Bruening Thanks for the reply
I'm working on making some....
I made about 10 already, all working fine, all for CS70M....will post somewhere for sale later.
Do you know of a way to replace it with a modern USB port?
There will be a midi kit from 16 music lab for the CS-70M, but I'm not sure if the patch data can be transfered via sys ex.
@@Bernd_Bruening mine is midi ( probably that kit)
@@Bernd_Bruening I'm really looking for a USB port like I have on my ASR-10
No, the 16 music lab midi kit is not available yet. There is no USB midi for the CS70M.
@@Bernd_Bruening Ok thank you
Moin Moin, bist du einer von den 100 glücklichen ?
Gruß Ingo
Wie? Ist denn ein BS-70M in Planung?
Du weißt schon was ich meine?
