  • I had the honor to meet Thierry Gerardeaux from "16 Music Lab - Lutherie Electronique" in Brittany (France). He is one of the few Yamaha CS-80 experts here in Europe offering a full restoration of the ultra rare and extremely valuable Yamaha CS-80. I was able to interview him and test out a fully restored and calibrated CS-80. You can´t imagine how excited I was to play such an iconic instrument for the first time in my life !
Enjoy the interview and the music .
    Bernd

Excellent stuff, any relation to Behringers possible release? How is B's PAT keybed in comparison?
    Lawnmowers are not interviewers friends!!!
I think I read somewhere once that Vangelis in his stable of gear had 13 CS80s at one point and would have 2 working at any given time, others were there to act as donors.
So cool you got, to see/use one irl.

No relation to Behringer at all. Thierry just lives nearby the place where I spent my holidays every year.

hmm, seems to work here, Synth King even added a manual translation rather than google's autotranslation

    They made more than 600 CS80's. I think it's more like 800. I have #663.... and also #585 and #383.

Whow, you’ve got THREE CS80s?? You’re lucky! Good to know that they are not that rare ;-)

@@Bernd_Bruening - not just three 80's... I also have a 60 and a 70M. Oh, and two Moog Modulars and 4 Minimoogs. Loads of other stuff as well....

Ne me dit pas que tu as déjà eut un CS80 de Vangelis dans les mains ????

That wouldn’t surprise me. Thierry is a modest person and not keen on name dropping. During and after the interview he didn’t mention a single name.

    Qu'en je pense qu'il y a environ 30 ans, j'ai eu l'occasion d'en avoir un pour environ 3000 €....... et j'ai pas pris. Quel con !
