Behringer UB-Xa - Polyphonic Aftertouch Sound Demo
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 чер 2022
- This little piece of music showcases the superb keybed of the UB-Xa. It provides velocity sensivity and polyphonic aftertouch enabling you to play your music with extraordinary expressivity. In this split performance filter frequency, volume, LFO speed and intensity of the upper preset (in unison mode employing only one voice) is controlled by poly aftertouch. Moreover volume, VCF and VCA attack is also controlled by velocity.
The lower pad sound uses OB-8 “second page” functions such as LFO rate delay here controlling panorama position. Furthermore LFO rate is influenced by poly aftertouch as well.
This music genre beggs for delay and reverb. I´ve used two Lexicon PCM 70 connected to my main mixing desk as send effects . Everything is played life and recorded in one take without any edits or further audio processing.
Enjoy the music!
Bernd
Nice demo 👍. I'm one of those who don't give a crap about how close it comes to an original as long as it sounds great. It's definitely a candidate for my specific needs.
Sounds like a Vangelis Tribute, thanks for giving us hope about this synth.
Which is understandable given that everything he did for Blade Runner (and everything else he did at that time) owed a hell of a lot to the poly-aftertouch on the CS-80. Even though it is a completely digital synth, I sometimes scare myself at how close I can get to "that Vangelis sound" just because of the Iridium's polyphonic aftertouch.
@@mosspa1 man , you are confusing me... what synth is digital? i had to read your sentence 5 times till i got that you might be speaking of Iridium, but im not sure
You really make that synth sing. I don't think that there can be any doubt now that this is a great sounding machine. Thanks man!
16 double VCO voices plus poly AT 😵
Great playing!
Do we have a price yet?
@@SynthOSphere They've said below $1500.
This is one of my favorite tracks. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece of art.
This legitimately gave me chills. I cannot wait until this thing is released...
Thank you very much.
You might be in retirement wearing diapers by the time OBXA is released.
Sounds incredible! Thanks for the demo!
Beautiful demo sounds and playing AWESOME
Thank you for a demo that sent chills up my spine!
That track is so sweet, love it.. It gives me goosebump !
Great demo !
Beautiful sound and very nice demo song! Interesting the hear the polyaftertouch in use!
Wow ... really a cool demo !!!
Thanks for sharing, my friend !!!
Simply beautiful thanks
Nice playing! Sounds great!
Sensationeller Sound. Ich schwebe . Danke für die Demo.
I've listened to all of your superb UB-XA demos over and over. And this is the one that got me to list my OB-6 on Reverb. The tone is so beautiful, and the melodies you come up with are exactly what I aspire to play. When I get mine, the first thing I'm going to do is pick apart this tune and attempt to recreate your performance.
Thank you very much for the kind words
This video was cool, but if you think this sound is better than what the OB-6 can do, I feel sorry for your ears.
Why did you sell the OB6 bro?
It's a beautiful synth...a true legendary one.
So I guess one example of an unreleased product proves it? @@jasonmck5273
I want to play this too! I’m not sure if I can stretch my left hand like that maybe an octave though. Wonderful playing!
I ordered mine, straight off this demo. So organic, warm, and magical. I can’t wait!
That sounds beautiful
Great sound, great playing.
Thank you so much, this is going to be an excellent synth.
If it is ever released. 🙄
Wonderful playing synth 👑. Now we just need them to release it!
Excellent, Thank you.
I too am waiting for this release. AU
Just gorgeous!
thanks synth king keep them coming!
Another demo? MIND BLOWN!
this is beautiful, it actually makes me want to play synth ah
I'm so excited for this thing to release
very nice playing as per usual
beautiful sound!
Thank you!
Thank you for the music! 🤗
Love the demos! This synth is in good hands. Thanks for showing us what it's really capable of doing.
Gorgeous.
Love your melody.
Amazing playing and a marvelous instrument! Can‘t wait to get one as soon as it is available 👍
I liked it. Sounded very nice
really tasteful!
Hammersound - thanks for the great demo!
Thank you, Ingo! Time to meet!
@@Bernd_Bruening I really hope soon :D
Nice job, Bernd!
Superb stuff
Killer track! ❤
beautiful sound dude.....
wow, that was amzing.
polyphonic Aftertouch, wuauu Nice, thank you for sharing
So good!
It's nice to see more polyphonic aftertouch keyboards come out, especially if it means that older synths with it will become cheaper as the polyphonic aftertouch capabilities won't be as big of a purchasing decision and they can be brought on sound alone.
Personally I love the polyphonic aftertouch on my GEM S2, it's implemented so well and even better it's added to one of Fatar's best ever weighted keybeds, no rubber dome contacts here, metal springs and two bus bars they move between!
That's awesome, good luck trying something like this on the original OB-Xa or even the OB-X8 :)
lovely!
I was going to say thanks for a great demo, but this is so much more than that. Beautiful is what that was. It really show cases what is possible here.
awesome cant wait
Very nice indeed!
Beautiful demonstration!!
What a beautiful sound. I feel pure love and peace listening to it.
Wow,, Prince would be proud of the rebirth of this machine 🎹
I can't wait to play Rush Subdivisions and Countdown.
Beautiful demo! ❤️🍻
Uli sings now:
„Ups, I did it again!“ 😉
Can't wait for UPS to ring my doorbell ; - )
Nice sound 👍
Sound amaaaaaazing!!! Bravo!
Without a doubt, you wear your pseudonym "Synth King" wonderfully.
Magnificent interpretation !!! :)
Thank you, Tom !
That's a lovely and rich sound, and the poly aftertouch really brings it to life! Great demo!
Man I really dig all of demos you’ve done of what this synth will be capable of! Can’t wait till it’s out! Do you know when Behringer plans on releasing it? I hope they plan on letting you test the DS-80 when that’s ready. I’m really excited for that and hope they can get that done. We need a CS-80 type synth available that’s not gonna cost 50+K and needing expensive repairs lol!
Desktop when? Desktop, argh! Desktop, hey? Desktop, now! 🤘🏽
Can't wait for your work when you get one too.
It's 9378 keys or nothing! :D
@@Dudderlyful I would get keys over module due to PAT, I would then probably get module for 32 voice analog monster.
VERY. very nice.
This synth is nuts… I don’t know by when it will be ready but sure I’d like to own one. In the middle of a crisis is Central-Eastern Europe. :( I hope I can afford it.
Gorgeous sound once again!
Super piece! Looks - and sounds - like a great synth 😄
Stunning demo. I'm really glad to be getting not just the classic Oberheim sounds, but stuff that sounds genuinely expressive.
This. Sounds. Very. Nice.
lovely
Having owned an Ensoniq SQ-80 (actually 2 now!) for 20+ years, I am glad to see PolyAT keyboards making it back into the mainstream.
In fact I'm hopeful Behringer will make an SQ-80 alike (rather than ESQ-1).. but what about an equally expressive feature, Release Velocity ? Another Ensoniq, the Mirage sampler, had that..
I remember. There was stunning choral voices among the Mirage disks presets and the release velocity change them in a very expressive way, you felt you were controlling a sort of variable reverberation time on it, great playing feeling
My Kawai K4 has release velocity. I was saddened, when I realized most synth keyboards (even synths that cost far more than my Kawai K4) don't have the feature.
In my opinion, all "flagship" keyboard synths (or MIDI controllers) should have polyphonic aftertouch, channel aftertouch, attack velocity sensitivity, and release velocity sensitivity. Sadly, at least one or two of those are usually left out. My Kawai K4 is nowhere near "flagship" level, but at least it does have release velocity. If the K4 can have it, there's no good reason why more expensive synths can't have it also!
@@GlenBerry Hydrasynth Deluxe has those: polyphonic aftertouch, channel aftertouch, attack velocity sensitivity and release velocity sensitivity.
As an ESQ-1 lover/owner, I’d be stoked if Behringer came out with an SQ-80 clone! It’s not too far off from their PPG Wave clone!
I'm a big poly-aftertouch fan (especially after getting my Iridium), but I never could get release velocity to make sense to my brain-fingers coordination.
Pure Gold Sounds very good thank you very much
Si Senor, those are adventure machines and fascinatingly festive mantras are rewarding as all hello oo

I'm trying so hard not to get goosebumps!! Try not to get goosebump challange. That vibrato is just a surreal good experience in a quality pair if headphones!!
bellisima y buena máquina, tendré una ,very beauty, and goog machine,i will have one
The delay effects on the lead are cleaner then i thought. A lot of players play with an octave bas left, but you took c/e and d/f# , nice
very very nice.
beautiful job Bernd :-) and fantastico #behringer let's get this bad boy out there
It's so good! I have to budget around one of these when they get released. It's the same dreamy purr that it's based on in my opinion. I feel like this is going to be the best Behringer synth ever made. I don't care what the synth snobs say, this is going to be a game changer. I have a feeling there's going to be a back order for this one. I'm excited for this and the Model 15.
How much will they be ?
Polyphonic after touch nice!!!
POLY AFTERTOUCH?!?!?!?!? AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
you really need to have a solid understanding of the oberheim sound to demo it like this. They have a reputation for brash sounds but they are such melancholic synths, they want to cry and I want to cry with them 😭Beautifully done.
I'd but this one for sure!
Still great
heavenly sound.
Sounds lovely :)
You think you will do some sound banks Jamie?
@@dankeplace Behr should give Jamie a freebie to work on. Worth it for the marketing and sales that will be generated from it.
@@decimal1815 I Think Jamie is smarter than getting a synth for free when his patch work would belong to Behringer. When he buys the synth and creates patches, this is where all his hard work is worth it.
I am sure his patches makes him more money than the value of the synth alone.
@@dankeplace Don't quote me, but I think I heard Jamie mention in a UA-cam video that he'd probably end up with this one too so that he could make patches for it.
@@beamer64 yeah makes a ton of sense, his DM12 patches are pretty Danke.
Sounds amazing and expressive. Can’t wait to order this. Thank you for posting. Please keep these great UB-Xa demos coming. Love the music too.
would love to hear the ubxa with no reverb as the original oberheim synths sounded so good you could play this genre with no effects added to them and they sound amazing...
I really hope Behringer focuses as much on the keybed and keyboard feel as they have advertized in this case. This thing has me drooling like Homer over donuts. Man, if they only could have made it a 6 octave keyboard.... :)
Great demo ... now it makes me want it even more. Been following it since it was announced they were working on it (2018?) and I hope it finally gets released this year ... any word on this that release date that you know of? If it comes in under $1500 it will be a done and steal of a deal compared to the price of the Prophets and new OB-X8. Can't wait!
Thanx for a new and even bigger proof what a super synth Uli and his team made!!!!;+)
Beautiful! You should take that sound or a very slight variation and cover “Losing It” by Rush
This sound gave me the same vibe too. Very similar to “Losing It”. Signals is literally the reason I’ve been chasing the Oberheim sound since I was a kid! Can’t wait for the release!!
makes me miss my CS80
Thanks to Uli for *finally* allowing another video out into the world :)
wow!
need even more, cause need poly aftertouch
Thank you for releasing another ubxa video. Be great if you're allowed by behringer to do another video with a run through of the original obxa factory presets, or like the opx Pro ii a famous preset sound set.
I'll wait for the OBX
UB OB fine 🤝
Great warmth and expressiveness. Not everyone can do those left hand 10ths tho :)
Phew ... I thought my setup is completed. But this synth might change my opinion. Beautiful sound and a great presentation.
Probably one of the best sounds I’ve heard in a while
