This latest video sees the two of us attempt to travel from Birmingham New Street to Inverness. The journey will see us use three Train Operating Companies, Avanti West Coast, Transpennine Express and Scotrail. In the video I explain how I go about buying my rail travel tickets and why. Spoiler alert! The journey does not go all to plan.
Starting off at Birmingham New Street we settle in for a short run to Preston. From Preston we travel along the West Coast Main Line as far as Oxenholme Lake District with Transpennine Express. After an hour at Oxenholme it’s another journey with TPE up to Haymarket…in theory…and from Haymarket it’s Scotrail all the way to Inverness. Come along and see how the day goes!
