Pilot steals airplane and Kills himself - Career Track 655
Переглядів 35 тис.4 місяці тому
On January 24th, 2024 Logan James took a Cessna 172 N23107 from ATP flight school in Addison, Texas on his last flight. After one lap in the pattern practicing a touch and go he made a rather chilling final radio call before seemingly pulling the comm1 and comm2 circuit breakers on the airplane. He flew for about an hour before intentionally crashing the plane into a field descending at nearly ...

Private Plane to the Private SKI HILL
Переглядів 3,7 тис.4 місяці тому
Because flying your own airplane is not fun enough all on its own, we decided to level up and mount skis on the landing gear instead of the regular tundra tires. To top it off we ventured out on a beautiful new years day to try a little baby back-country skiing in the Talkeetna mountains! It's just like heli-skiing, but for pilot's that can't afford helicopters! Onilne Course: learn.fly8ma.com/...

Переглядів 44 тис.4 місяці тому
So how much money does an airline pilot make in 2024??? Well that is going to depend on a number of factors we cover in this video. If you want a quick range of how much you could make as a pilot flying for the airlines, well its roughly $100k-400k per year right now. Here's the latest update on the Haneda Tokyo crash: The A350 was cleared to land. The Dash 8 was not supposed to be on the runway, and had been told to taxi to "spot C5". The Dash 8 got onto the runway, and appeared to be moving from the intersection of C3 towards C5 via RWY 34R instead of via the Taxiway. 2024 Pilot MasterClass (flying Alaska to Florida and back): learn.fly8ma.com/courses/real...

New drinking game. Every time OP says "go ahead" have a shot or a beer.
Great video but isn’t the example you gave her about opening her owning her plane for tours falls under 119.1e and wouldn’t need operating certificate?
Im 12 and im trying to fly early lol
Thanks👌
Left-Turn Tendency: - P-Factor - When plane climbs, the right propeller takes a bigger bite of air. - This asymmetry in thrust causes the aircraft to yaw to the left. - Torque Effect - According to Newton's third law of motion (for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction), the propeller spinning to the right (clockwise from the pilot’s perspective) creates a reactive force that tends to roll the aircraft to the left. - Noticeable at high power settings, such as during takeoff and initial climb. - Spiraling Slipstream - The slipstream (or airflow) generated by the rotating propeller spirals around the fuselage of the aircraft. - Causes yaw to the left - Noticeable, at lower airspeeds with high power settings, where the slipstream effect is more pronounced - Gyroscopic Precession - Gyroscopic precession occurs due to the gyroscopic properties of the rotating propeller. - When a force is applied to a spinning object, such as a propeller, the resultant force is felt 90 degrees ahead in the direction of rotation. - For example, during a nose-up pitch change (like during takeoff), the force applied to the propeller results in a yawing moment to the left. - Noticeable during rapid pitch changes, such as during takeoff or abrupt maneuvers.
This video was absolutely great! I'm currently preparing for my CFI check-ride and I wanted to freshen up on some of this stuff. Thank you
Man you don't know how much you been helping me with trough this process on getting ready to start my ppl, i really appreciate all your work , thanks a lot ang god bless u and you love ones!🙌
very nice video
I think only your people can do great projects and videos.... nice
FANTASTIC! A MILLION thanks!
I am 14 yo and I freaking love planes and choppers , I started to see these videos yesterday and I am gonna keep watching them , who knows, maybe I can become a pilot in the future😊😊
Iam 66 now i don't want to go back
I fly back in the 70s from cessnas to tween beachs islanders etccc is not fun anymore those times gone
very informative video. thank you!
I hate these charts so much
Rotten sound track. Big bore.
Private checkride in two weeks at Merrill field! Thanks for the helpful videos!
I'm so confused now
Once you have your altitude do you turn back the downwind mid field if it’s empty or fly to the crosswind leg
When executing a go-around you apply full power and return to pattern altitude while continuing to fly centerline of the strip. At which point you would make your turn on the crosswind leg before turning to enter the downwind leg.
It’s an airplane guy thing. Glider guys laugh at the myth
Easy to say when you have 3 times the wingspan and a fraction of the weight lol.
@@fly8ma.comflighttraining199 I have a 35 foot wingspan my man
Thanks for this. Huge help understanding plane electrical systems.
Glad it was helpful!
This was a confusing explanation
What part of the video did you find confusing?
As a non-pilot, but is aware of the stress that occurs in the industry from training to tenure, this is an incredibly fast evolving environment. I appreciate hearing about others taking the time to consider the mental health implications of what it takes to maintain air travel. It’s important to set realistic expectations to maintain a sustainable and healthy balance on the rocket ship of growth in flying. Thank you for helping protect the dangers.
It was a tragic event but you are right. I am glad you found the video informative.
Such an amazing experience! Going again for the 2024 Airshow!!
Doesn’t aircraft have override auto pilot? If not there should be
Not all aircraft especially those used for training have autopilot. The autopilot feature isn't something that can be remotely controlled outside of the aircraft for obvious safety reasons.
My CFI checkride got moved from 30may to 5jun, and so I had to in the middle of checkride prep, go from pts to acs. Not a big difference, but big enough to have to put my binder in a different order
Good luck on your checkride!
Wow, $119 wet pr hour? Those days are GONE!
That they are!
Are we going to get a new CFI mock oral based off the ACS? Your original video was fantastic.
We will be putting together new oral videos soon. At this time we are making sure the CFI courses reflect the change over to the ACS.
I tensed up when he said to take out flaps.
Thank you so much for breaking them down very grateful 🙏🏾🙏🏾
No problem 👍
thank you so much
You're welcome!
Love how these videos are straight to the point! Thanks for a great video!
Glad you are finding them helpful!
Why not just take the md-9 from American airlines in the backround? Its in perfect shape, plus you would get the cockpit witch is super cool
We already have a DC-6 and a 727 in addition to the DC-9 we don't need any more aircraft haha.
lucky that wasnt his head.
That he was!
I was looking exactly for Lake hood vfr procedures. Than you a lot. Btw: I am having problem concentrating on your speech couse I cannot stop staring at the beutiful lady there.
Glad you found it helpful. Take not that the approach altitudes have changed since this video was made so make sure you do proper pre-flight planning before making the trip.
Anyone know if there’s an age limit to flight training?
There is not an age limit to begin flight training. I would see a aviation medical examiner before you financially commit to becoming a pilot and make sure they clear you for a medical.
Why would you keep all of those windows?
Because it's an airplane.
Starter warning light is on
Awesome!! Thanks for explaining and describing so well
Glad it was helpful!
can i manually apply to the big airlines after staying in the regional airlines for 5 years?😅😅
I don't see why not if there is openings in the majors.
I'm a student pilot prepping for my checkride and I watched the Mock Oral PPL video from this channel --- and I'm not sure where Stephanie was in her Pilot journey in that video but wow, the growth and CONFIDENCE that she has now really shows. This is great to see and is inspiring. Great Channel FLY8MA!
Glad you enjoyed it and hopefully your confidence progresses as you move through your ratings. Best of luck!
2:21 that’s a random time😂
May I ask you how much did the plane cost? Because in the future i want to have a plane house too.
Well, I am over budget currently on the build out for the DC-9 at over a million.
By Pitot you mean dynamic?!
No, the difference between the pitot pressure and the static pressure is called dynamic pressure.
@@fly8ma.comflighttraining199 SO what do you mean by pitot pressure then? Never heard this in school
The answer you gave at 13:55 is wrong per several pretests I’ve taken. It should be 180 degrees from only if you are due north. Sporty’s even specifically has a section talking about this exact question.
If you look at the AIM in chapter 1-1-4 part B. it clearly states the omni-bearing selector should read 0 degrees with the to/from indication showing “from” or the omni-bearing selector should read 180 degrees with the to/from indication showing “to.”
Good day healthy safe end care more times
Hiring at regionals has slowed to a crawl. Mesa has not hired anyone since November and they are just now going to training. Because of the slow hiring at regionals there are now a lot of CFIs so in many places new CFIs are hardly flying working, and hardly building hours.
Interesting. There will eventually be another wave of hiring. Just be patient.
I have question, so if I were to get hired at one of this big companies like delta, aa, united how much control of my schedule would I have? For example, if I wanted to work longer hours to get more pay and experience obviously would they let me?
As a new first officer you wouldn't have much control over your schedule. But if their were additional flights for you to pick up, that is a possibility, as long as you don't go over your max allowed hours per month.
It's because archaic.
Just gotta ask. What does a scrap DC9 cost?
A lot! Currently we are over budget with the entire build out.
