Although I’m not opposed to a helmet, I learned something when my flight instructor died in a crash. I ordered the autopsy from the coroner and I really don’t think he died of a head injury. Every one of his ribs was broken where the seatbelt crossed is body diagonally. Also, I think the force is so great, that even if you protect your head, your brain will squish itself inside your skull. It is so crucial to decelerate as slowly as possible by clipping trees or whatever you can.

Does it work on other types of ANR headsets? I have UFQ A28. Which, BTW, are really awesome. Really close to the Bose A20 my son has.

let it heel....? You cant be a commercial pilot over night. It takes at least 1-2 years to become a commercial pilot at the base level...so unless your hand is broken your whole life. Im not quite sure how to answer your question

Wearing a helmet while flying an airplane is not necessary. If you own a helmet company and want to sell your product maybe people like those at Fly8MA will buy a bunch. However, if you analyze the data concerning the amount of airplane crashes and deaths with those that could have been prevented by wearing a helmet you will have a difficult time finding conclusive evidence that wearing a helmet would have been beneficial.

False. I can think of so many accidents off the top of my head that would have had a much different turnout if the pilot & occupants were wearing a helmet. Countless lives lost from hitting that hard panel, unconscious, then end up burning or drowning. Unfortunately you just don’t know how to analyze the data you’re looking at.

It all depends on the aircraft you plan on operating. All planes cater to different missions. Airframes vary which some offer very tight cockpits. At the end of the day, a helmet is there for your safety and to eliminate a hole from the Swiss cheese model. Fly safe Chris.
