    Absolutely amazing video. Were building a camble cam too right now, but with a metal wire rope. This way, it doesn't have any slack! Reason for this is the weight were planning on putting on there - the big dji Ronin 2 with a Ursa Mini 12k, zoom lens, fiz unit, wireless transmission, all that stuff that's making it harder to build...

    It's rather astonishing to me that you're comfortable recording ALL of your projects' audio in the camera. Best practice, in my opinion, would be to run mikes through a mixer/field recorder and feed the outputs from that into your camera for safety tracks/monitoring.

    • @ScottBell

      Thanks for watching. Sure in an ideal world that would be best but for run and gun, one man band shooting it's not super realistic. Hey Scott, really enjoyed both the behind. the scenes film and the actual documentary. One quick question. How many days did you end up shooting in Iceland and how did you split the work managing the production and deciding where to go when? Were you in charge or did someone else help out with planning the time spent?

    • @ScottBell
      @ScottBell 2 місяці тому

      Thanks for watching. We were in Iceland for about 3 weeks. We had to really just follow the thread to known when to go where based on people's availability. Every night I would dump footage and backup so I could be ready to go again in the morning. I think we shot around 13 days of the 21 day trip. Myself and Mark Matthews did the majority of the planning with Bruno Long the photographer providing his perspective once we were out in the field.

    Hello, Scott - Thanks for the video and all the useful information! I'm just in the process to build a suitable shoulder rig around my C70 (preferrably with the nucleus nano II handgrip) and especially the start/stop function was an issue for me. I have just one question, if I may - When you mentioned the special cable in the video, you showed the packaging with a picture of a cable with two usb-c connectors. When I use your link, the Tilta homepage shows a cable with one usb-c connector and a 3,5mm jack on the other end, and now I'm confused :-) Maybe you can help me out? Thanks and best regards - Mike

Quick question, if I have two Sennheiser G4 mics would it work to put each in a mini XLR input (one and two), and then the shotgun mic into the mic input to record on three (and four as a safety track)? guessing you don't do this because when you want to record two wireless mics you use the smaller rechargeable one you mentioned. • @ScottBell
      @ScottBell 8 місяців тому

      Hey, that's awesome. The 25-70 is a great lens to start with. Might consider a 70-200 down the line. I have a video on my channel about shooting a raw mountain bike video that shows how I go about capturing some of the audio. A lot is just with my shotgun mic mounted on the camera though. You could potentially strap a rode wireless pro on the bike but you'd have to test it out, never tried it myself. Get it as close to the ground as you can to get good dirt sounds. Good luck!

    Thanks for this video! I have the same system and camera but can't get the run/stop cable to work. Tried all the "canon camera" settings in the Tilta hand unit but nothing works. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

      Hey, thanks for watching. Are you using the run/stop cable that came with the Nano II or did you buy the one I have linked in the description? It will not work with the one that comes with the Nano II.

      @@ScottBell thanks for the reply! I was using the cable you had linked but I got it to work by updating the Nucleus motor firmware.

    With the long lens shot with the auto focus switching to the foreground. I don’t know how it is with the C70, but usually Canon will offer subject tracking sensitivity adjustment, it won’t slow the focusing speed, but will work very well when something comes into the frame. I stumbled onto the video because the Rocky Talkies anyways… Great review and video!

      Thanks for watching. Unfortunately AF in the C70 is pretty lack luster compared to the rest of Canon's stuff. It helps a bit but you just can't rely on it.
