Yesss please continue with the UA-cam uploads! Love seeing the BTS of your filming process out on the trail. There isn't really anyone making videos specifically on camera gear & shooting bike videos. Keep this going!
Super interested in your thoughts on the RAW coming out of the C70. Especially if you are having any problems with the LT compression. I didn’t find any differences between the LT and ST in static testing. Love your work, cheers from Germany
Thanks for watching Jan! I haven't done any side by side of LT vs ST but everything I'm reading online seems to indicate it's very little difference. And with the larger file size and no 60p in ST I likely won't use it for anything. On the few tests I've done I think there is slightly more detail in the raw files than XF-AVC. I particularly like how the noise renders as finer grain rather than blotchy noise I would get with XF-AVC. Still more trialing needed to really know though.
With the long lens shot with the auto focus switching to the foreground. I don’t know how it is with the C70, but usually Canon will offer subject tracking sensitivity adjustment, it won’t slow the focusing speed, but will work very well when something comes into the frame. I stumbled onto the video because the Rocky Talkies anyways… Great review and video!
Thanks for watching. Unfortunately AF in the C70 is pretty lack luster compared to the rest of Canon's stuff. It helps a bit but you just can't rely on it.
Thank you 🙏for your answer, please tell me, I am faced with a choice which is better 2x256g or one 512g? And how durable are these cards? Since there are also 90 SanDisk, I wonder if they are both at the same level with functionality? Thank you for your attention my friend @@ScottBell
@@arbfilmspro I would go with 2 x 256gb myself. More options in how they get used that way. Plus if you want to shoot anything in 120 FPS you'll need a second card in the camera to capture audio. I've had these cards for 2-3 years and run into no issues. I can't speak to the Sandisk cards. Most people recommend the Prograde cards with the C70 for Raw so that's why I chose this option.
Were those bike sounds straight from camera with that shotgun mic or were they pulled from a sound library? If you did get it straight from camera, do you have tips on getting good audio? I've been filming a lot of bikes lately and want to elevate my sound design. Great video!!
Hey, everything in this video is straight from the camera shotgun. Best thing I can say is make sure you have a quality mic. In most of my larger projects I do additional sound design in post where I pull from all the bike audio I've accumulated over the years.
@@ScottBell Perfect, I only have a Rode Micro but I will definitely invest into a better microphone. I appreciate you responding back to an older video. If you're ever in Utah for a shoot, I would definitely love to help in anyway and learn from you!
Stoked we don’t have to scream at each other anymore! 😂
I'll miss hearing your voice crack 😂
love thos BTS videos man, nice work!
Cheers, thanks so much for watching!

@@arbfilmspro Yup, I primarily shoot in XF-AVC

@@Jason.rimando The Micro is surprisingly good for its size/price. And anytime, always happy to help!
I need to remind me to take the walkie-talkies next time I shoot. Every time I am yelling 😅
They make such a difference and end up allowing us communicate more, which is great.
