Very good input! As a lone filmmaker as well, I've produced different kinds of work, from showreels, to fun edited videos, and a couple of short narrative films. Although narrative filmmaking is my primary goal, I'm adding a little bit of all my work into my reel so I can find work really anywhere in video production.
Thanks to this lovely sharing, it is hard to make a good video, I learn and learn how to make a good video and my video is still far from a good quality. When I filming I try to keep the camera still but it is always some part of shaky and a bit blurry
Hey, thanks for the comment. It depends a lot on what you do but I can tell you how it's shaking out for me. I currently shoot all my video work with the C70 and when I need photos I bring along the R6. The R6 is definitely not great as a dedicated video camera, particularly when I compare it with the GH5 which was much more fully featured in the video realm. The biggest annoyance is you can't use the camera screen and an HDMI monitor at the same time if you are recording internally. It does take great photos though. So I've been using it as a B-cam to my C70. The 30 minute record limit makes it annoying for shooting interview type content since you have to watch it to ensure it's still shooting. I haven't used the R5 but the overheating issues seem substantial enough that I'd stay away. The R5C is looking like a decent sweet spot and I will likely upgrade my R6 to that once I see more peoples' thoughts after release. I think my biggest disappointment with it is the lack of a full size HDMI port. That's a bit of a ramble but hope it helps!
really appreciate it mate. Its so hard to get a sweet spot. Whats your thoughts on IBIS? Id like to do a bit of run and gun but feel that no ibis will be that good enough and I will need a tripod or a gimbal and looking at the r5 aswell it seems like people complain about the ibis wobble. I was looking at an r6 and a gh5 as I could adapt older lenses but the new RF lenses make the more difficault. So hard but thanks again for your help and your videos are awesome
@@Dukesy IBIS is a tough call. I loved it on the GH5 and it took some time getting used to not having it on the C70. I ended up picking up an RF lens with IS to help with microjitters and that made a world of difference. I've seen the wobble in some R5 footage and wasn't super impressed with the IBIS so not sure if it's a huge loss.
Hello, looking to start filming mtb videography. Have a Sony a7iii with a 24 - 70mm lens. Was wondering how to shoot raw with good sound. Was thinking about buying something like the rode wireless pro and just strapping it to my bike. Would this work? And I am also looking to buy new lenses, what do you recommend?
Hey, that's awesome. The 25-70 is a great lens to start with. Might consider a 70-200 down the line. I have a video on my channel about shooting a raw mountain bike video that shows how I go about capturing some of the audio. A lot is just with my shotgun mic mounted on the camera though. You could potentially strap a rode wireless pro on the bike but you'd have to test it out, never tried it myself. Get it as close to the ground as you can to get good dirt sounds. Good luck!
So many epic shots 😎🙌
Thanks buddy!

Hey man. What would you choose out of an r6 r5 or r5c for pics and video creation. I know its a bit random but I respect your advice
