What a project. Stoked we got to share this experience, and equally stoked it’s over! 😂

Can't belive I havnt come across your channel sooner !
There isn't many mtb shooters out there that offer this kind of insight so really appreciate it 👊
Couple of questions that relate to this feature film and any other really, how do you manage the moisture/rain whilst actually filming?
Fine when not as asumme it's store in your bags, what's the best way you have found to shield your camera set up?
On a average day what is your battery consumption like for the camera and field monitor?
Did ypu set up an idle ti e for self shut off or just to manually turn of as a habit when not shooting?
    Appreciating your channel 👍
    Cheers

Cheers Allan, glad you found me.
In terms of rain and moisture, it's really a mixed bag. Light rain I don't often stress too much about and periodically dry the camera. If it's a bit heavier I will keep a cotton towel in my bag and drape it on the camera if I don't want to put the rig away. Other times just throw a plastic bag over the rig between takes. At the end of the day, the camera is a tool to do a job so I balance getting the job done with a bit of gear abuse and not being foolish.
Depends on what camera I'm shooting with for battery consumption and how old the batteries are. These days I'm on a Canon C70 and need 2-3 batteries to get through a day and a similar amount for the monitor. Batteries come in many sizes and preform different under varying temperatures though so just something you have to work out. I generally turn my camera off between shots.
      Good luck!

@Scott Bell thanks for getting back to me, although my fujifilm gear is classed as weather resistant i still find it hard to let go and trust it!
are you still using the shinobi 5 for your monitor? I watched your 5 vs 7 video and noticed you would still use the 5 over the 7 even though the screen nits were half as much.
Would you say that as most mtb stuff is based in areas that obscure direct light the 1000nit of the shinobi 5 holds it own still?
I'm in my starting stages of my setup and was looking at the shinobi 5 but came across a couple of other 5 inch monitors that seem to have stepped up there capabilities for similar cost, I just worry that it would be a step down in quality longevity wise.

@@Allan_Brenkley Yeah, I don't think any electronic stuff like that is 100% safe in the weather - it's a balance of over babying stuff and not caring at all.
I still use the Shinobi 5. It's smaller and doesn't have a loud fan. I don't have any problem with the brightness, though I'm usually shooting in pretty dark forests.
I wouldn't say it's the best monitor out there but gives you a lot for the price point. Biggest thing for me is having touchscreen. Once you have it, hard to work with a monitor that doesn't have it.

Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. Curious to hear if there was anything in particular about this episode you enjoyed. This will be the end of the Blueprint content but definitely more of the 10 minute BTS videos to accompany other projects. Wondering if the long form resonated with you or if you like the short form stuff better?

@@jamiemcdonald564 Cool. Been tossing around the idea of an (audio only) podcast so curious how the long-form content lands for people.
