Just got my first 96 Mustang GT, love it. Had cold air intake, dual exhaust with flow masters, and under pullies...runs good and sounds mean, ready for paint now and thinking about 373 gears next, idk about changing intake and heads though, might leave it as that

Memories... reminds me of my 96 PI'd GT. I did mine close to 18 yrs ago. VT cams, lontubes, PI heads/intake. It was still slow after...lol. Sold it and moved on to an '03GT, to an '07 GT and then a '12GT. The '12 GT was my favorite. All gone now. 😔

Bro you should go to the junkyard and find a 97 explorer with the 5.0 it's a gt40 motor intake and heads they make a gt40 and a gt40-P the gt40 has bigger valves and bigger combustion chambers good for boost the gt40-P smaller valves and smaller combustion chambers resulting in higher compression something to think about
This is a 5.0, his car is a 4.62v

@@ReyesBuilt it's true say u put a stage 3 cam in stock compression it will sound good and drive ok with the right supporting parts and tune but u put all that together with a full point of compression it's a different animal sound and performance wise

@@ReyesBuilt I did a PI swap with cams on a new lower block and it just never seemed to run as I expected. I swapped out the 19lb injectors for the 24lb ones and it came alive but than my old injectors had seen 165K on them. I really don't think you'll hurt yourself going up the the 24's personally. Your most likely maxing out the duty cycle on the 19's especially with the long tubes.
Just get some pypes high flow cats on there and you'll be good with the noise

Idle Air Control Valve delete plate. They're like $10 on eBay and they set your idle the same as your tune says it is.
I have a 97 GT cobra clone 2v PI heads comp 268 cams with the same issue as him IAC is next.
Depending on the cams, they need to be degree'd/tuned. EGR delete also needs a tune

When I do a cam and head swap u kind of have to let it break in man as is and then tune it I've been there done it.took a while but after a while it worked with that tune man

I did the egr delete but it still idles high man.and its pissing me off bro.
"Cheap work" and "performance" should never be used in the same conversation. That mechanic really had no clue that after all that work, it wasn't going to idle right on a stock tune? MAF curve needs to be totally reworked. IAC needs to be reworked. ISC transfer needs adjusting, as well as dashpot. That's not a choppy idle from the cams, that's a choppy idle because its running like shit. need 24lb injectors, and bigger fuel pump as well, otherwise, you just paid that money to have a car running worse than it was in stock form. You cant do work like this without tuning the ECU.
You’re trippin, I put it back on the stock tune put it on the dyno and it make 275 hp with clean AFR. The stock tune did fine considering the mods done. It was running like shit in the beginning of the video bc it had a can tune for a regular compression bolt on npi motor.
@@ReyesBuilt hmm im tripping huh? so tell me, on that dyno run, what was their target AFR at WOT? what was the total spark advance at WOT as well? Im just trying to be real and honest with you, not trying to be a dick, but I see guys get screwed over way too much when they let other people build their cars. And lets think about this, you threw cams, PI heads, PI intake and have a high compression, to only make about 35 more hp than the stock pi engines made from factory? When that guy bolted on these parts, did he Degree the cams and check PTV clearance? PI heads on NON PI pistons are a recipe for PTV problems. If you would degree the cams properly, put in the proper sized fuel injectors, fuel pump, along with good spark advance and good target AFR, you would easily see 300hp +
