Hey guys, if you don’t mind me asking, what is wap and teksid? I’ve been trying to research mod motors and the algorithm has blessed me with some good videos. I have a ‘59 Fairlane I want to put a modern power plant in and it not be a Coyote. Not knocking Coyote but to me it’s the Ford equivalent to Chevys LS swap. No one would be expecting a mod motor in an old Fairlane. 😂 thanks in advance!
@@jp360ford2 WAP and teksid are for high horsepower applications, for 4.6 blocks, you’ll discover their is a 5.4, their was 2 valve, 3 valve and four valve configurations, believe it or not these motors are wide, I seriously doubt the 4 valve would fit between your shock towers, 4.6 2v is 25.625 and 4v 30 inches wide, the y block v 8 motor used in 59 was only 24 inches wide, if you have skills check into the crown Vic to F15o videos, lots of that would transfer, cut both cars weld together easy LOL
So you made 415whp in colordo, not 585whp, like the video I know the elevation afect a lot i tuned cuple cars there too but you got me when i see colorado plates and those numbers but a the end of the video clarify it about 415 make sense everything good video man thanks
@@luisromerodelgado7802 I guess all depends on how you look at it. lol if I went to sea level it’d be 585, not for very long but it’d make it. Haha people go back and forth on how much power we lose up here, I think about 20% is the general consensus
@the_stable5534 i tuned in my car time ago in red line in denver area was 416whp and 407tq with 8psi Now, I'm going for more boost with the stroker engine and better parts on e85. I hope to make close to 6xx some in denver altitude. i have 11.1 compression
So you made 5psi more boost and just changed the power pipe and upgraded supercharger and intake manifold? Also, you didnt change the tune at all after adding all that boost? Those are crazy good numbers but 15psi will do that lol haha.
Yeah those were the only 3 changes made to the car, the tune still hasn’t been touched. I wish vortech had more information about the cfm increase from doing the ti impeller upgrade but they didn’t. Would have been cool to compare apples to apples. I appreciate it, as of right now, it’s still holding but the teksid is on its way lol
@@samedaybannershouston I’m sorry I don’t remember the Instagram page of the company who made it completely. I believe it was Las Vegas fiber glass or something like that
Ok so I had an S trim and upgraded to an Si trim and gained 3 psi no other upgrades. Same 3.125 pulley. I wonder if they are offering the V1 to be upgraded to the Ti……???? That wasn’t an option before. Anyway, keep it off thd limiter and keep good fuel in it. It will last
I’m not sure about that, I got this v2 si on a really good deal. Wouldn’t hurt to ask vortech. Absolutely, going to fix the damage cam and keep pushing it!
Is this the one with the Bullitt intake, vortech charger, pi heads ect? I got the heads and complete intake swap ready for my car looking at getting comp 262 cams and a similar vortech charger but I was worried about my stock bottom end lol eventually I’ll build a short block and swap everything over but I’d like to run it with the stock bottom end for now.
Yes it is, and after this dyno I put a 2.87 pulley on the vortech. I never got it dunked but hit the track a couple times. I started to worry about the bottom end but it was holding. I had a goal of 125mph in the 1/4 mile here in Colorado but the clutch was slipping so the closest I got was 122.
@@the_stable5534 that’s awesome, I was hoping for like the 425-450 range but if you’re pushing that on stock bottom end with a similar set up I’m going maybe I’ll get close to those numbers too haha won’t know for sure until it’s back together and tuned on the dyno but seeing this gives me higher hopes lol.
