    I have an 03 SN95 Mustang GT with many go fast bolt ons. I'm planning on doing the cam replacement along with a super charger. I have a rear end that I am going to have reworked before I super charge it. I love my SN95 GT 2 valve. I have had GM and MOPAR muscle cars and after that I am back to my FORD!!!

      Same here! I jumped from a Slowmero to a TRANSgenderAM, then I got tired of the bullshit and swapped the engine in my 00. Then after that I picked up a 2013 sho for the wife and I gotta say that the Taurus is a fuckin beast after you upgrade the headers, cam, new turbo setup, ecu and tune. Now were have a 4 door grocery getter sedan sitting a lil over 550hp and my new edge is sitting just a lil bit over that

    I cammed my 04 GT with the "stage 3" comp cams kit. Upgraded to truck flow heads and polished those up nice, BBK long tubes, off road pipe and magnaflow axle back. Had a BBK throttle body and intake (78 mm) and MSD ignition and plugs. I got it tuned and put down 318 on 93 using an SCT tuner

    I have a silver 2004 40th anniversary GT with borla exhaust x-pipe 4-in cowl Hood Celine flat wing has 82,000 mi on it when I bought it it had 61,000 lowering springs XXR racing wheels 315s on the rear 245 45 17 in the front I have a tune on it change the gears from 327 to 355s I love the 355s it's an awesome gear. I'm 62 and I had Chevys most of my life but this mustang GT is the funnest car I've ever owned to drive I plan on doing a cam swap soon with a hundred shot of nos throttle activated I'll let you know how things turn out I have an SCT-4 scanner tuner that has really helped me out.

    Definitely a tune is needed after a cam swap.Bigger cams keep the valves open longer letting it breathe more and the stock tune is not mapped to sense that.Any engine mod needs a tune unless it is a cold air intake that does not require one.

    For reference, anyone using the old style comp adjustable cam gears. You'll get a P0340 with misfires due to the cam sensor picking up the allen screws used to adjust the gear. To correct the problem, upgrade to the new style or simply install an o-ring on the sensor moving it away from the gear about 1/16". Btw ... comp cams doesn't care.

      @@Brendon617 Add a larger in diameter o-ring that will sit against the base of the sensor. It simply will hold the sensor out further providing a larger air gap between the sensor and screws, keeping the sensor from picking up the adjustment screws. Comp now redesigned their gears so that the adjustment screws are recessed. I confirmed the o-ring trick corrects the problem with an oscilloscope. The larger gap did not negatively affect performance, at least in my case. I called comp cams for that concern and the fact that the nose of my new cams were over machined creating slop. They initially confirmed they had a machining problem then denied it. I'll never buy Comp components again.

    So... a tune wouldnt cause a misfire. Just would be running lean or rich. But not misfiring. Fix the issue before you get a tune because you are going to get on the dyno and they are going to tell you your cars misfiring and pull it off and still charge you for hooking it up.

      1 BAD CTSV nope. tune fixed my misfire created by a new high lift cams timing need to be changed and fuel ratio. Tune fixed it

    I would say go to get it dynoed. Since your getting more air and fuel with the cams it needs a tune to compensate. Check for vacuum leaks too.

    dont know if you've figured out the missfire, but i would consider a better throttle body for more air and also check o2 sensors. mine did the same thing with how it cranked and all it was o2 sensors

    Ya thank Mike at autozone !! Couldnt even get u the right bolts for the door ?!??! Lol the bolts that should be on there are shallow head hex not half inch scoop bolts lol.. come on it's AutoZone you mean to tell me they didn't have actual hex bolts that fit the door latch?SMFH !! Next time go to part time Charley at home depot or Lowe's that Works in Lumber, Plumbing, lighting, appliances, customer care and nuts and bolts and you probably could have found your hex bolts !!! Love ur channel just think I wouldn't take to much advise from you but at least ur doing it and tryn n stead of bringing it somewhere and having them do all the work for you !! hats off to you brother !

    I have the same issue after install of my cams I believe it’s just a tune to compensate for air, fuel, and spark

    You should get a sensor stimulator to turn your engine light off. Also take your cats off

    Had the same cam in my 99 gt Dyno tune fixed all of it had problems when I'd come to a stop some times it would just stall out that was before the tune

    That engine has more power so u need a bbk fuel pump, bbk 70mm throttle body, an a cold air intake, pretty much it needs more fuel an more air an spark, thats why u have a misfire, also u should have done upgrades on your valves springs

    Put an edelbrock jr air intake manifold with K&N cold air intake along with an SR performance throttle body spacer . Def give your stang more power

    You might be suprised how fast your car goes with spray I used to run spray on my 2V might have been the fastest the cars ever been. I was running low 12 second 1/4’s

    N2O is fun, I've had it before, but forced induction is "fun all the time" even at part-throttle. Nitrous is only fun when you floor it once in a while. Good if you're at the track, not that great on the street unless you're into Street Racing and tickets.

    Sounds good I think I'ma go with stage 3 cams. Way more chop. I got 01 gt with rod knock. Lol spun a bearing bbut I got another 4.6 out of a police intercepter with 88k on it waiting to go in. I was hoping it was gonna take a shyt a long time ago but I guess the 4.6 is a real beast. Been over a year and still won't qiit

    Swap coils from 6 to somewhere else and see if the misfire follows it. I suspect you may have a bad coil pack

    I had stage 3 comp cams in my 5.4 swapped 2000 GT. My tuner said you will get a random misfire code because of the stock cam sensor, meant for stock cams not aftermarket cams. So it will throw the code, doesnt mean it's an actual misfire

      No. Needs to be able to come on if there is an actual issue. Car would throw the light here and there but never had an actual issue.

      I had a chip that flashes the pcm to make all the monitors "ready" my car had no cats and no egr so it would never actually pass with the monitors on because they would just throw the CEL

    hey man I just got a 2001 mustang GT and it has (comp cams?) in it but I don't think it's ever been professionally tuned. The motor was replaced but both the body and motor only have 69k miles. It stalls at startup unless I give it gas and after a few revs it's fine. It also has BBK throttle body and cold air intake. Any advice or suggestions I'd really appreciate!

    I'm running a 78mm bbk throttle body/plenum on stock cams....I'm sure you would benefit more from it.

    I've heard if u change to headers, u need to change to bigger injectors, which a lot of people don't do. Maybe u have and i didn't hear u, but, wish u luck.

    Okay so this is a huge relief, i was planning to do stage 2 cams, but i was not sure at first. Do you have to do any modification to the heads as far as valve height, springs, keepers? Or do you have to have notched pistons? I know our 4.6 motors are interference motors and you have to watch valve to piston clearance like its your life.
    I have a lot of questions about this, let me know if you're down to answer them.

      The only modification i had to do was change out the valve springs

      No, just upgrade the valve springs an cams, an air, spark, fuel, u can upgrade the heads but u don't need to if your going with American muscle stage one or stage two cams from American MUSCLE. Com

    4.10 means you have lower top speed lol but definitely more torque and quicker off the line. Sadly I got 3.73 gears

      Mach 1 here. Fbo with cams and nitrous. My brother has a Whipple termi. Like both but prefer mach 1. Just my 2 cents.

    ive got an 02 SN95. BBK throttle body, Typhoon intake manifold, cai, msd coils, sct livewire tune, stage 2 clutch, short throw. been thinking about camming mine and getting 4.10's

      U will love cams and 4:10 gears are great, b ut if u ever want to go force inducted i recommend getting some boost cams. Im running my cams with a blower and its fine but it could make more power with boost cams

    You didn't have any issues with clearance? I put stage 1 comp cams in my 00 GT and they aren't anywhere near clearing in my 2V..

    cant just throw cams in and go esp stage 2 you need a tune BUT you should have done alot more first i have a turbo 2v doing nos is fun and all but youll get sick of refilling bottles

      @@Brendon617 or buy an mmr 900 2v shortblock that handles 900whp for 3-5k. Pair that with some trick flow heads and your cams and ass rape every camaro you race. Fuck an ls. Or if money is no concern swap a gen 2 coyote in it. They are the most superior v8 out there currently. Ls motors are overrated junk.
