That has an LS right? From factory that already has more power. Anyways you'll see tons of people claiming they put down big numbers in this comment section but there's lots of varying factors .. the biggest one probably being the dyno itself that I went to. The 2v only puts out around 230whp stock. Sometimes less.
@@infernoauto the stock LS1 has 305hp to the crank. Idk what the hp rating is through an automatic. But I'm just surprised with a cam and everything it's only like a 60hp gain.

So I have a '17 Fusion Sport. Just your average boring family sedan I know....however....I dynoed it through a heavy AWD system and 6 speed auto... it made 412 HP and 488 TQ with the smallest 87 octane tune....For reference it's a tiny 2.7 liter V6 engine EcoBoost....No other mods at all...none. You saying your modified LS V8 sports car made less than my mundane V6 Fusion and it also made more power than yours when both were factory new?? Do you see the point I'm making...you gotta see the wider perspective....trying to show performance potential from comparing different cars, different dyno types, at different times and temps....off a single point of information..
I saw it's an 03, does it have the Windsor built 4.6? I really think the Windsor built 4.6's are duds compared to the Romeo engines. They are not the same. I had an 03 and it was literally .5 sec slower than guys I used to race against with 2001 and 2002's. Glad I just got it used and didn't buy it new, I woulda been pissed. With bolt ons and a tune it was still 💩 slow so I finally got rid of it
Stock these cars do about 220 whp Now a DynoJet, these dynos read a little higher than the actual numbers, so you are somewhere around 260 wheel and 285 tq Which for what you have done is typical, that stock compression won’t go much more than that without changing pistons and doing head work Or just add boost Mustang Dyno will be more spot on Nice looking car, sounds good
Neither type of dyno is "right or wrong" they just arrived at the results in a different way. If the numbers on either are accurate they will correlate to the track. Dyno's can also be manipulated by the operator to show high or low. My son's 2 valve with bolt ons and stock cams made 267 at the wheel so these numbers here are pretty typical.
Actually dynojet is very close to real numbers, mustang dynos actually show less hp/tq than the actual real life power. I have been around dynos my whole life, my father as well
maybe its bc of gears or trans differences but im not sure , but 3rd gear pulls? seems odd for a NE 2v normally and mine included were 4th gear bc there 1:1 idk who could be right maybe i miss it .
Forged pistons and rods, terminator crankshaft, and a supercharger with a tune done is all you need to breach that HP goal. Its a cheaper surefire way to reach better numbers than going with $$$heads and all the other bolt-ons. Underdrive pulleys are useless.
I’d say try a different dyno. I was expecting to 310/330whp. A soon as you said it was spinning on the dyno. I knew numbers where going to over the top or lackluster. Your tires and whp not lining you is most likely because a poorly maintenance dyno. Worn rollers and probably hasn’t been recalibrated in years.
There's another shop nearby that does events where they have decent prices on dyno runs. I might try that out one of these days but I think anything over 300whp is a bit overshot. The place I went to deals with a lot of mustangs and hot rods so I'm sure even if the dyno was off a little, it's probably not by much. I think the tune is good so it would be interesting to see the numbers it puts out on other dynos!
It came with the car when I bought it, im 99% sure its just a generic ebay one and someone put spectre fittings on it. I did change the filter out on it for a larger spectre one though.
I wonder what the altitude that shop is at. Also what octane fuel did you get tuned with? I made 280hp/330trq on my 04 gt with a 93 octane dyno tune with just 75mm throttle body, C&L intake plenum and long tube headers. Im hoping for 315-330 hp when i eventually get a set of cams.
Funny you mention altitude. I was talking to someone who drags their 4.6 and he was saying we're at a pretty bad altitude here for this kind of stuff. I think its funny how all of it works. I'm really on the fence about the whole throttle body thing. I wouldn't really wanna spend another $500 for a retune just for 1 part. If I'm getting another tune its definitely gonna be with boost I'd like to think. Was that 280 whp or crank? This car is probably putting out around 310-320 to the crank
@@infernoauto 280hp 330trq to the wheel, Elevation was 800ft, the throttle body does more than most think, but the stock manifolds and catalytic converters are absolutely killing some gains.

For all I know that 280whp wasn't accurate at all and its much closer to the 300+ range lol
FBO =🤦🏻♂️ . mod list and what cams you are running would be more informative. someone says the have an exhaust could mean a lot of different things. short or long tube headers, o/r or catted mid pipe, h or x mid pipe…fbo is ambiguous.

I think it's not a bad purchase regardless. Useful for data logging, adjusting tire size to correct your speedometer and also most tuners that dyno tune use the bama/sct tuner to tune the car. Also you could load custom email tunes with it.
Every dyno tuner will ask you if you have a tuner or not. Most of them will need you to have one so they can upload the tune onto your tuner along with your factory tune.
I wouldn’t be upset with those numbers. These engines just don’t perform all that well compared to other platforms with basic bolt-ons. They have great potential with boost but even with a built 4.6, high compression, and ported heads/cams 400hp N/A to the tire is a struggle. If you can swing it, boost it. Best bang for your buck on this platform.

You can make a 2v pretty quick without spending crazy money. Boost, cams and headers will put you way over 400 rwhp reliably and that is enough to put in work in a much lighter new edge.
So i have a 2000 camaro z28 that has a stage 2 sloppy cam, aluminum intake and dyno tuned. i made 352hp to the wheel though a 4l60e (4 speed auto) you are telling me a FBO mustnag with the 4.6 only made 280hp to the wheel?
That has an LS right? From factory that already has more power. Anyways you'll see tons of people claiming they put down big numbers in this comment section but there's lots of varying factors .. the biggest one probably being the dyno itself that I went to. The 2v only puts out around 230whp stock. Sometimes less.
@@infernoauto the stock LS1 has 305hp to the crank. Idk what the hp rating is through an automatic. But I'm just surprised with a cam and everything it's only like a 60hp gain.
@@gregorylozado4627 Bolt ons don't do much for the 2v. It has plenty of airflow stock so things like throttle body, cold air intakes, intake plenums, etc wont do much. Probably pick up more gains from exhaust if anything. They do help when getting tuned though. bolt on 2vs will typically throw down around 250whp. It's a quick little car with the cams, probably the best daily driveable cam you could get in my opinion.
@@patrickf4692 those cars are total sleepers, I was put up against one at the track and he took me no problem. Nice ride for sure!
With bolt ons and a tune it was still 💩 slow so I finally got rid of it
nice new edge! i drive a torch red 2004 mach 1!
Thanks!! I'd love to experience a mach1. See how different it is. Maybe one day!
Stock these cars do about 220 whp
Now a DynoJet, these dynos read a little higher than the actual numbers, so you are somewhere around 260 wheel and 285 tq
Which for what you have done is typical, that stock compression won’t go much more than that without changing pistons and doing head work
Or just add boost
Mustang Dyno will be more spot on
Nice looking car, sounds good
Neither type of dyno is "right or wrong" they just arrived at the results in a different way.
I have been around dynos my whole life, my father as well
@@brandon_doe all I know is what I’ve had dyno tuners tell me, doesn’t really matter much
@@brandon_doeEddy current dynos like a mustang dyno are definitely more accurate than a dynojet
@@thenegus5469 they have like a 10% power loss. So real life numbers are more accurate with a dynojet/hub dyno
maybe its bc of gears or trans differences but im not sure , but 3rd gear pulls? seems odd for a NE 2v normally and mine included were 4th gear bc there 1:1 idk who could be right maybe i miss it .
Very nice!! Beautiful GT
Thank you!
Beautiful car brotha!!! I love the wheel setup 👍
Thanks!!
Only 350hp from the factory with the Eaton m90.
Forged pistons and rods, terminator crankshaft, and a supercharger with a tune done is all you need to breach that HP goal. Its a cheaper surefire way to reach better numbers than going with $$$heads and all the other bolt-ons. Underdrive pulleys are useless.
if it was a npi block with pi heads would have made 320 the pi verson was lower compression than the sn95 npi with pi heads
Clean looking gt.
Thanks!
I gotta 97 gt and I’m so bummed I couldn’t get a 99-04 but aye I’m still just as excited
Same here🤟🏼 97 GT FBO ported heads/cams I personally like the 96-98 look than the 99-04
Bad dyno runs! why don’t power curves don’t cross at 5250 ? Not corrected
He probably has a stock long block 9:4 to 1 comp now 11 to 1 to 13 to 1 compression e85 with cams yeah 93 oct is trash now a days
Excuses, excuses.
Mods list??
Where you get that cold air intake.... very nice car brother
It came with the car when I bought it, im 99% sure its just a generic ebay one and someone put spectre fittings on it. I did change the filter out on it for a larger spectre one though.
The intake tube looks way bigger than the ebay ones.....looks good too
@@robbyfuller4342 mustve been painted as well. I can't really tell if its metal or plastic.
Good video bro keep it up🤙🏾💯
I wonder what the altitude that shop is at.
@@adamhelmers3185 this car has a BBK catted X pipe and bbk headers. That being said, when I asked why my numbers were so low, he said his dyno is "stingy" and not like some of the "happy dynos" you see online that put out big big numbers. I think I'd like to try a different dyno eventually but lots of different factors play a role in the numbers its putting down like you said. For all I know that 280whp wasn't accurate at all and its much closer to the 300+ range lol
What are those rims?!
Beautiful car
Thanks!
Was jus now looking for this video
FBO =🤦🏻♂️ . mod list and what cams you are running would be more informative. someone says the have an exhaust could mean a lot of different things. short or long tube headers, o/r or catted mid pipe, h or x mid pipe…fbo is ambiguous.
I got bbk longtube headers and a cat back x pipe exhaust my motor only has 140 miles on it as it was just rebuilt but I’m gonna break it in then get it dyno’d on 93 gas and tuned at the same time so I’ll re visit this post and comment when I’m done and lyk what it puts down. Praying for more then 250😂
Good looking! car whats that style wheel called?
They're Aodhans
Do you think it’s worth buying bama if your going to dyno tune?
I think it's not a bad purchase regardless. Useful for data logging, adjusting tire size to correct your speedometer and also most tuners that dyno tune use the bama/sct tuner to tune the car. Also you could load custom email tunes with it.
@@infernoauto nice are you able to make a vid on what you can do with the custom tunes?
@@demigxddeni433 I don't really have any custom tunes on it.
Every dyno tuner will ask you if you have a tuner or not. Most of them will need you to have one so they can upload the tune onto your tuner along with your factory tune.
Where you get the tail lights from?
Mine are from Amazon but they're all over ebay
Trash can.
Oh absolutely! The car runs awesome regardless!
I have a 2v I hope ,my car runs that well.
Mine seems to be quite healthy, the 2v lasts a long long time if you treat them right!
What cam , intake, headers??
Comp stage 2s, Ford racing PI intake, BBK shorty headers!
What mods you have?? Dyno numbers ain't everything.. My P71 on 87 tune put down 240rwhp n on 93 tune put down 249rwhp so I think.. 🤔 Guy said it had made more on 87 but I think he got crank n wheel hp mixed up.. Bring on the hate guys. The best thing to do with a 2 valve is to use the short block for a 4 valve head swap. The 2 valve is a waste of time and money.
2valve is still plenty fun. Not everyone wants or needs crazy power. In my case I love my setup as a daily driver :)
