Absolutely! It’s easy to pass on these with stock wheels and ride height. I was embarrassed with the stock wheels tucked in so far in the rear on my 97- it looked like a V6 car! Lowered it 2” and put deep dish 03 reps on it and looks a million times better!

The biggest issue with people is nobody knows how to expand their mind on creativity for these cars. They just take them at face value and say “fuck that” the whole platform is entirely amazing and the fact that nobody wants them and therefor keeps the prices cheap, makes them the go to mustang in my opinion. Cannot knock the entire bang for the $ on these bad boys.

Put headers and a good exhaust on the Coyotes and they sound like a Nascar V8 driving by. What makes them sound interesting from the factory during a parked rev is the tri-y exhaust manifolds. Take care of those & those cars sound ridiculous.
But so do 4.6's. Probably my favorite-sounding motor ever made, even over the old pushrod 5.0s.

I had Kooks long tubes & Bassani off road X pipes on my 98 with no mufflers now it sounded insane to say the least 😂 but it was a hassle at times when I had a headache or was just trying to pull up somewhere quietly 😂 but I'd do it again.

@watched4748 it’s ok. Definitely need to understand the car really well, its weight is most definitely heavier on the front of the car as opposed to the back. I’m on old bilstien shocks and springs and the car does handle really well in turns BUT, I know the limitations of the car and my setup. A K member upgrade, coilovers, subframe connectors & irs swap would help with transferring the weight distribution correctly, and handling. That’s my goal in the future. You can get away with heavy duty rear end stuff for the chassis/suspension like torque arms or something. Some people beef up the rear end suspension with the live axle and prefer that setup over IRS. To each their own. For a 25 to 30 year old design, it’s ok for knowledgeable sprirted fun. But don’t like 250hp fool you, it can turn on you quick.

I agree I prefer the older cars but the coyote sounds pretty badass in the pre 2005 cars I don't know why it must be the exhaust routing they kind of sound like an old 4v when in one of these but the 4v still sounds better in general. The exhaust setup also has alot to do with it most people run headers x and the loudest mufflers possible they need an h and little more tame mufflers the coyote is loud as raspy by nature so you gotta fight that. Most of the coyote guys think louder = better and it doesn't.
