    Wow, thats a steal deal for the parts Chris. Bama tunner is definately the way to go bro. Get a set of long tube headers and under drive pulleys next. P.I sohc swaps are just as strong/awsome as the dohc. Research is key. Seen plenty of p.i. swap roast on cobras. Plus youre right, your mustang is mint!! Keep her. Classic soon to be.

    I have a mark 8 swap, the exhaust cams are the same you would only need to change intake cam/manifold to be cobra. Oh and yes your car is worth $1,500 just keep it, worth more to you. Theft light comes on when eec fuse is blown. Happen to me I had to change the fan, fan plug, and ccrm and of course the fuse

    Just picked up a 2001 gt for 1800 bucks in great shape cosmetically and mechanically other than there being a missfire in one of the cylinders. 30-40 dollar fix

    Man your channel's cool. 2v is the way to go for 4.6. I swapped in a 99 cobra engine into my 96 cobra and I got it all decked out. Its sweet but I got coyote money into it. Nothing is easy or cheap on a Cobra. For a 2v you can get a tecsid block that weighs 80lbs less and has high compression pistons, slap some home ported pi heads on there, ebay headers. You can do it cheap. To me it seams like Cobra stuff is literally 10x more expensive and twice as complicated. 350hp isn't internet fast but it is real life fast. You don't need Coyotes or 4.6 4v, irs, t56, 800hp $$$$ You can build it cheaper and build a car that's more than the sum of its parts.

    Let's do the 2V builds bro, get the C&L cai to match the plenum. It comes with a 80mm maf too for $170 on AM. If I ever get done we meeting up

    I got a 98 MK8 for the swap, it's an LSC and they made 290 hp, the Lincoln intake produced more torque than the cobra. Using the stock 6 bolt crank let's me keep my brand new clutch and flywheel. And used cobra cams come up for sale all the time... but I got a set of twin turbos going in after the swap

    SCT makes a good cheap tuner for these cars too! I had mine laying around from one of my power strokes that I flipped. Works great on the 97 gt I'm flipping!

    Drop out package is the best way, some times it's plug and play and times their is modifications needed, or purchase the whole donor car like form erepairables. This is the way I probably will go found couple of good useable 03/04 Terminator Cobra's in their from wrecked or flood damaged , or stolen recovery they really can't put those car back out their on the streets, so they part them out , or buy whole sell

    03-11 Mercury grand marquis, crown vic, town car, all have PI heads.. PI intake.
    Another difference.. the terminator is a cast iron block all the other 4v 4.6 are cast aluminum..

    The mark 8 is a good options .. they normally aren’t beat on so 178k might not be nothing .. my gt has somewhere between 220-245k miles on it now n runs great.. the marks make 280hp (flywheel) n cobras make 300 hp ... long tubes n the cobra intake I’ll make 300 if not a little more to the wheels .. iv done my research on it n planned to do it myself but sadly I can find anything mark swaps locally... the 2v build is a good option too .. cams longtubes n the bolt ons u have ull be at 300 for sure.. good luck on the build bro 💪🏾

    Im a older guy. Iv had a 2000 gt for about 2 years. I bought a set of 315/35r17 for back of car. Can anyone tell me if they will fit without changing things like shocks?. Aldi got svt 10.5 rims.

    Full bolt on GTs can easily get you in the mid 300s with proper tune. Looking at doing that to mine. Then trading up to a Mach 1

      Definitely not. Only way you’re making more than 300 is ported pi heads. If you want mid 300’s you need trickflow heads.

    Put a cobra engin in gt or change your heads over to the cobra head all it is is just twin cams and four valves instead of two valves and a bigger mass air meter and hemispear 4.6

    4 valve 2 valve ohc PI intake blah blah blah. Just put a 4.8 in it from the junk yard cam and headers and a stock 4l60e and boom your at 300 HP to the wheels.

      If ur buying a higher mileage car your better off with 2v the 4v dont hold up that well at higher mileage like the 2v. At 4000 i bet that thing is beat

      Right from a ford article: Ford introduced their 4.6L single overhead camshaft (SOHC) V8 engine into the Mustang starting in 1996. The first edition packed 205 HP and eventually saw an increase up to 225 HP for the year of 1998. These numbers are not particularly great, especially when you consider the fact that the old 5.0 pushrod V8 produced the same numbers. However, GT Mustangs from 1999-2004 saw a pretty sizeable increase in power, now up to 260 HP, thanks to some engine improvements.
      In 1999, Ford revised their 4.6L Mustang V8 to produce an additional 35 HP for a grand total of 260 HP at the crank. This revised motor, installed in all regular Mustang GT’s from 1999-2004 was dubbed the PI engine, where PI stands for performance improved or power improved.
