@@CETechTips I used xtu enabled for bios, undervolted it with -110. PUT all cores on 3.5ghz. and still got around 70 degrees on gaming. This is really good but, the keyboard gets hot in the middle. Next thing, when gaming heavy, it eats your battery even when plugged in. From 100% I went down to 97% and it didn't charge itself back to 100. Then I got once 95%.. Only way to get back 100 is to unplug charger and plug it back in. Also for typing the keys were fairly small, coming from asus gaming laptop. felt like cramped and when you play games i feared the Z key would die eventually (azerty). If they just took out the numpad and make key bigger, threw out corsair, then i would have kept it because it is really neat.
@@amritdutta6695 if you use the stock, you can get up to 88 degrees... imagin gaming that long. I will go Asus because they are in the gaming industry much longer than Lenovo so they have experience with gaming laptops. If you do some tweaking, undervolt and turn core clock down it is good. Thanks for watching, based in those specs I would go with the Legion 7i. You will get better performance.
@@CETechTips thank you so much for replying! also in terms of hardware and customer support is the 7i a better choice than the m15 r3? I'm an architecture student so would like to know which one would be better for 3-D softwares such as Maya, 3DS Max, Cinema 4D etc.
@@yugshah2837 The better CPU will be best for you. To get the max out of it you can look at undervolting. Support on either should be similar. The couple times I have reached out to support were about the same, both were helpful.
@@CETechTips Alright thank you so much! appreciate it, have a good day!
@@yugshah2837 Thanks, to you as well!
Great review ! Subbed.
Would love to see you review the OMEN 2020 (AMD)
Thanks for the sub! I'll see if I can bring that in. I just wish it would come paired with a better video card.
i just suggest u learn more about dolby atmos bro., just because it's only have 2 speaker doesn't mean the tech cannot be explained., great review btw
Noted, in my opinion this is not true Dolby Atmos and shouldn't be muddied by incorporating it into a notebook unless it can actually give the effect like a home theater. I was hoping my small brief in the video would illustrate that. Thanks for the comment and watching!
@@CETechTips that's why i suggest u to find more reference., but it's all up to you bro i just think there some interesting to find out., about the "dolby atmos" ., don't let me bothering you with my comment u already did great job bro., i just feel u need little reference about dolby atmos that's all
@@CaptainPure I appreciate the comment, I see what you mean. More detail on what it is.
Make 100% sure whatever you buy has a G-sync ready screen. A lot of laptops don't!!
I agree, it is so nice. Certainly need to watch the config.
Hmm is it a big deal? I actually purchased a legion 7i, rtx 2060 i7 10750, with 240hz and no g sync, it was either this spec or an i5 with 144hz g sync etc and I thought the 240hz was the better option
@@pastpixels-q2w Just depends on what you want. I prefer the higher refresh with gsync.
Alienware is known for power hungry machine and build quality. It surpasses the general i7-10750H benchmark. Like i have seen in a video, without undervolting it gets to 3240+. And with undervolt, it crosses 3400. And that build quality!
Though Legion 7i is also good
Alienware really is the best I have reviewed so far. Also really good thermals.
professional reviewer , i like it
I appreciate that!
I think that between the LEGION and the HP OMEN I prefer the HP, it looks better than you think
It is close on that front. I had both OMENs but even outside of looks the Legion has a leg up.
@@CETechTips I have seen many defects in the Lenovo chassis too many, and the software has many problems because of that I see the HP with better quality only the screen that is flexible but I do not think it is a problem
@@jduarte1506 It isn't crazy, but certainly in the details. This is gen1 so here hoping they nail it for next year as it is close. Quality and price point of the components is really good though.
Hey, CE Tech Tips. it is a exceptionally delightful video. thanks. :)
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
What you think about MacBooks
I think they are good, really good build quality but I am a PC guy.
Also the price, average 200 dollars lower than alienware m15 R3
That helps as well!
That cheap hinge is a disaster waiting to happen. Not impressed by the overall build quality, that amount of keyboard flex is unacceptable. Took it off the list for my new laptop. LMAO at your comments about Dolby Atmos. Good review by the way.
Thanks for watching!
Very good review. I really liked it. Great job! Keep it up!
Hoping you'll also take time to review the Legion 5 with Ryzen 7 w/ 1660ti and a comparison with the 7i.
I look at bringing it in, I have a few on list to get through.
you have a very mobiletechreview vibe. will need to be more hipster to catch up with the big boys. keep at it though. good vibes.
Thanks, it will be a journey. Will see how much hipster I have...lol. Thanks for watching!
i had it, i returned it...This is their first gaming laptop so I wait for more models so they can fine tune their models. ICUE problem, heating problem.
Heating issue as in? Can you elaborate
I wouldnhave to say it is pretty good for the first run, better than most. Undervolting it is necessary so the CPU isn't maxing out on temps though. That isn't for everyone. Alienware is better for this.
@@CETechTips I used xtu enabled for bios, undervolted it with -110. PUT all cores on 3.5ghz. and still got around 70 degrees on gaming. This is really good but, the keyboard gets hot in the middle. My guess is for longevity this isn't gonna last long. Mine was using vapor chamber. Also for the ICUE, I turned that off on booting so I get jsut plain blue. Otherwise it was eating your battery.
But then you have the small keyboard keys. For battery life it is what reviews say, each minitute it draws 1% if corsair services are running.
I also had mine for 30 days almost so I did check many things.
built quality is terrible - Problem with hinges is very serious. They can break very easily and they do so after couple of weeks.
I know some people have reported that theirs has been fine after months. However it is clear that it is inconsistent.
Did you launch a memory module of 2966 Mhz lol 😂 Hahaha
!!!!
Great in-depth video.
I subscribed.
Thanks for the sub!
Wath a machine. You're each time better reviewing these units.
Thanks!
So your wife likes the Alienware I suppose that’s the end of discussion. Lol.
So true, lol!
