Just wanted to say, I was shocked at the end hearing the review was just an experiment. Then I noticed the 90 subs! Great work, I thought it was a video from a full-time youtuber throughout!
Great review sir! But I would suggest to always mind your audio levels, in the entire video, it has low levels and inconsistent in some parts as well, there are gains here and there. Overall, keep on what you're doin', this is just my opinion for you to improve. Thank you for sharing.
appreciate the words! yes this was my first review and I was just using my phone to record audio. my new review used a mic. Still working with levels but it's getting better! appreciate it again!
This is a good review. Your editing is good and the info you provide is also helpful to prospective laptop buyers. I just have a little constructive criticism to offer: 1) Playing music in the background while you’re talking makes it a little distracting. Best to keep the background music off while you’re on the mic. 2) Would be nice if you could also provide more details on what settings you’re running each individual game at when using the different profiles. Other than that, me likey. Good work!
hey appreciate the kind words! yes, I completely agree with the audio mixing, as well as the mic quality. This was my first video, so my second video on the HP Omen 15 I got a better mic and looked into what levels I needed for voiceovers vs background music. Think its much better. And for sure! I'll elaborate in future videos. Thanks for the kind words :)
hey I just ordered a legion and how exactly do I know if I got the vapor chamber or the heatpipes I haven't got my legion yet but it didn't seem to specify
@@wolf3276 i5 + 1660ti, i7-10750h + 1660ti, i7-10750h + 2060 will not have vapor chamber (except for Russia i think), all other configurations will have vapor chamber. 2 ways to check : 1. look through the vent at the back of the 7i (vc is mostly flat while heatpipes are heatpipes....... lol) 2. vantage -> support -> support -> view warranty options -> parts -> then if u see something like "Thermal C 81YT HP 2060" then it's heatpipe, vc otherwise also, if it comes with heatpipes, u may want to ask for discount (i got 6%) or full refund + return
@S L Hi I got the exact same model as you had, was disappointed that I didn’t get the vapour chamber. May I know how you go about getting the 6% discount? I bought this almost a month ago, not sure if I still can get the 6% discount :/
Great review bud! I got lucky when I was looking at this laptop and got the right configuration that I wanted. Lenovo should have been clearer about this though! I will tell you that this a great laptop with excellent thermals and build quality...pricey...but you get what you pay for. I purchased and returned the MSI GE66 raider, Asus ROG Zephyrus M15 and the Razer Blade Advanced...this Legion 7i is the best of the bunch IMHO. Here's my configuration: i7 10750H - 32gb ram - 1tb + 512gb NVME SSD - 2080 Super Max-Q with the vapor chamber and the 240hz Dolby Vision - HDR400 / 500 nits...worth ever penny! I subscribed...keep up the good work!
Hey, thank you!! And damn, i wish i had gotten that screen. It's like the best screen you can get on a laptop anywhere, which is saying a lot. 500 nits is insane! And I appreciate it! HP Omen review coming up, but so far...I miss my Legion 7i lmao. So you might be onto something!
@@TechRevue No problem bud...keep up the good work! I'm not sure what other reviewers are talking about with thermal issues and thermal throttling...I'm not experiencing any of that. Maybe the 10750H with the vapor chamber configuration that I have vs the 10875H is the difference? I'm happy at the moment...Lenovo fixes the Corsair software that drains the battery "which is easy to disable" and this is a well rounded winner! Cheers!
@@aaronlake5879 dude. you might totally be on something. since you have the highest GPU with the 6 core, it might be the CPU that's overheating the vapor chambers, at least more than the GPU. I would be SUPER interested in that configuration. you may hold the key... but I really wanted 8 cores, especially coming from a Ryzen 7.
@@TechRevue I know...I'd love to have a Ryzen with this GPU as well. I did see Jarrod's Tech video and he has the 10875H version of mine, and it's running hot and thermal throttling, so it's looking like that's the culprit. I will tell you that this computer performs very well and plays every game that I throw at it with ease and the thermals are just fine...plus that screen...WOW...it's nice! Take care bud.
Aaron Lake How are you liking it after a month? I just picked up a 240hz/10750H/16GB/1.5TB/2070S MaxQ variant. It was a steal of a deal. I was also looking at the other laptops you previously mentioned you had. What did you dislike about the Razer Blade?
I really enjoyed the format of your review! Wonderful production value. I watch quite a few and really appreciated how you showed the benchmarks in each of the performance configs (ie, silent, balanced and performance) along with temps. Very informative for those of us who are interested in purchasing. The vapor chamber false advertising is a shame but I do question the benefit of the vapor chamber when the GTX 2060 with this particular configuration. I think you start to see the vapor chamber with a GTX 2070. Congrats on the video!
That's exactly what it is, the vapor chamber is not necessary for the RTX2060. The vapor chamber is available with the RTX2070 - 2080 super max-q only. It has nothing to do with the CPU either because I have this laptop with the i7 10750H - 32gb ram - 2080 Super Max-Q with the vapor chamber and the 240hz Dolby Vision - HDR400 / 500 nits of brightness and it's worth every penny...I love it! Yes...Lenovo should have been clearer, but sometimes you have to dig and do your homework to get the right configuration. I purchased and returned the MSI GE66 Raider, Asus ROG Zephyrus M15 and the Razer Blade advanced, and this one is my favorite and it's a keeper! Enjoy!
@@tronseaddict Hi, the GE66 was just a little too chunky...not bad...but more than I wanted. Also the thermals weren't as good as I was hoping for. And the front light strip was a bit cheap looking and didn't conform with the rest of the laptop. For the price not being to far off between the two...the Legion 7i is the best of the bunch that I've tested. Don't get me wrong the GE66 is a nice laptop, I just prefer the Legion i7. Enjoy!
@@aaronlake5879 thanks for the reply back, ahh so the weight and thermals put you off, that's fair enough. The only thing that's putting me off the 7i is the issues with the battery and the thermals as well when under heavy load. Also I'd kinda like everything to work 'out of the box' without having to mess around with undervolting
@@tronseaddict I have no problems with thermals out of the box. The battery issue is the "icue" software, once you disable that and stop the other processes associated with the Corsiar software the battery will get you roughly 5-7 hours with light use, dim the screen and keyboard backlighting. Even though the GE66 had a 99.9 mAh watt battery...it wasn't much better. Keep in mind, it depends on your use case, games you play, your environment etc. I played Battlefield V for about an hour last night with everything set to the highest settings with RTX on, and I had no issues and the thermals were around 75 CPU & 60 GPU. I have a laptop cooling pad that I used for other laptops and I've not even tried it on this one yet...I'm sure it would help even more. All of these thin laptops with all of this power crammed inside, all run hot. I've had this laptop a week now...so far...so good! Plus you have to like what you're looking at and I think the Legion is a better looking laptop and the screen is fantastic...the best I've put my eyes on! You're always going to have to tweak some settings with any laptop you get, I haven't found that perfect one yet "out of the box"...Good luck!
Love your editing style man!, amazing review About the vapor chamber, look at Jarrod's Tech thermal testing (he has one with vc) and temps are awfull, yours are way better!
I appreciate that!! Yeah, I've been talking to some people on UA-cam/Reddit and that seems to be the case. I think it's the i7-10850h that's the component that is overheating these vapor chambers. Which is hard to believe, but yes my temps are way way better. This is honestly one of the best temperatures on any laptop out there.
@@TechRevue I was so worried about it when seeing Jarrod's review, as my CPU is i7 - 10875h... But I don't game a lot or push the machine hard to its limit, so hopefully it won't be a problem for me personally, and I am just loving the machine so far. Anyway, really glad to see your review! Great editing!
@@jadenphan8106 Awesome, appreciate it! Yes, if I had to, I would go with the higher CPU, but that's the aspect most people suspect is liable for the overheating. Hopefully it's not an issue for you. And thank you! Appreciate the kind words!
Great review! Very chill vibes. It's awesome to see you're reviewing the lower spec ver that I'm getting and reassuring to see it performs well. Lenovo really can be sneaky, I was on the phone with customer service all weekend over advertised discounts and sales that weren't applying at the checkout for fine print reasons. Also thanks for giving a more in depth look at the rgb. Keep up the quality content!
Appreciate the kind words! Yes, they're really shaky. Based on conversations with other owners, it's the faster processor that seems to heat up the laptop, not the GPU. So the cooling should be pretty stellar. I don't trust the company, but damn do they make a great laptop 😞
@@TechRevue Really love the effort you put into making these vids. They really mean alot. So far I've seen this in quality in just your vids and Jarrods
One of the best reviews, I like that you get a bit deeper into settings, like trying to fix boot light. Also when you describe io only right speaker works ok. Otherwise really nice review.
Tech Revue well i know both legion and omen don’t support usb c charging , which is a shame so something to mention. Cause many people including me would love a portable laptop and a usb c charger for light schoolwork like the Asus g14 , which can handle 65watt usb c. Otherwise compare screen and refresh rate , try to find where they are different. Weak/strong points.
@Tech Revue Awesome video man!!. Great production. I watch a lot of UA-cam tech videos and I thought you were a very popular Tech UA-camr. But when I saw your subscriber count, didn't make any sense at all. By the end of the video, I found myself subscribing to your content. Although, I am going to buy the Legion 7i, I will be waiting for your HP Omen review. I just have one question. Is G-Sync supported on the 10750H, 2070 Super Max-Q, 240Hz 500 Nits Screen config? Probably would put a nail in the coffin in terms of my decision to go right ahead order this beast. Again, awesome video. Keep up the good work. Cheers!!!
Appreciate it, man! Btw, my HP Omen review is up. I'm not sure regarding G-Sync, but my understanding is that they're only available on the 8core i7-10850. The 10750H isn't g-sync compatible. Personally, I can't tell much of a difference regarding a g-sync vs. non g-sync display. Thanks again!
I was so confused over buying the i7 8core 2060 or 2070maxq since I heard only 2070 and above variants had a vaporchamber. Guess I’ll go with the 2060. Thanks for including the reddit post. I really didn’t know where to look. Nice video mate
Yep, my understanding is that if you have the 8 core or 2070/2080 you get the vapor chamber. But that's for US, I think each country is doing it differently. FWIW, my temperatures were fantastic. Cheers!
Heard people saying the higher end models with a vapor chamber have alot of overheating issues and due to that performance issues so this might be a blessing in disguise won't lie, can't wait to pick this up on a few months
You honestly might have a point. An RTX 2060 should last you for at least a couple of years, too. Not that bad of a purchase after all the dust settled!

@@Trinket_Master Haha I appreciate it! I haven't been bought out by company shills. Yet lmao. But I have an HP Omen & Eluktronics RP-15 review coming up. They are probably cheaper than the 7i (depending on your country). So hopefully you're right!
First of all...haven’t seen such a quality review even from UA-camrs with thousands subs...The dedication put in this video was incredible...something like this feels good to watch... But I have a serious question... Just tell me if I am ryt or wrong So Lenovo says that all i7 10875h variants will have the vapour chamber BUT... All i7 10750h variants will not have the vapor chamber...the particular models are gtx 1660ti and rtx 2060...which will have heat pipes instead....RYT?
Hey, thanks for the super kind words! Hopefully the next videos are just as good. And yes. All i7-10750h models with both the 1660ti/2060 will have heat pipes. But if you want vapor chamber with the i7-10750h, you can get a 2070 max-q or higher. But honestly with my thermals a lot of people are rethinking that lol
Yeah....the vapour chamber implementation didn’t work as expected...they are doing a lot better with heat pipes... I want the same specs which u got...i7 10750h rtx 2060...just instead of the 300 nits...I want the 500nits screen unit...
Yeah, man. If I could go back in time that is 100% the machine I would get! I got mine for around $1250 with haggling, but the price is much higher now
Good question. I think the performance is similar, but the Omen has better CPU by far. I loved the 7i, and my Omen crapped out on me. I much prefer the build quality of the 7i, but people have had problems with hinges, and few have had my problems with the Omen. Omen sounds like a winner if you're on a budget.
@@TechRevue thanks for the answer . . . i really hope that its gonna be in stock again . . . cause i was like im gonna wait til black friday but now its out of stock . . . the omen of course
Actually, you're getting way better temps with the heat pipes than a lot of other reviewers who have the vapor chamber. The vapor chamber is actually not as "spacious" as the name gives; it's not actually a "chamber", but just a plate that has, as far as I can see (across multiple brands) less effective heat pipes underneath. Nothing beats good old proven and tried heat pipes.
Tech Revue alright! Well in my case acer predator’s “PredatorSense” is my favorite since you can add any app in the Game Sync tab and then customize keyboard backlit, gpu overclocking, fan speed, and you are set! No need to go back and forth in the predator sense to turn on and off the configurations. Since, once you turn off the App/game it will automatically go back to auto fan. :)
@@jeremyguiab Appreciate it! HP Omen has that feature too, it's somewhat common. But I hate that it takes like 6 seconds to load up every time I open it. Pet peeve lol.
Got my 7i last week, and I love it. Great performance, cooling, keyboard...Everything. Even the battery life is vastly improved now that I've disabled the Corsair Service.
Definitely, I've read a lot about extending the battery life considerably after uninstalling the Corsair service. Shame that the softwares eat the battery so much though!
@@TechRevue Absolutely, they shouldn't ship them in that state. You shouldn't need to scour Reddit to find out how to make your machine run optimally! Great review BTW, keep it up! 👍
Love the video! Just had a question about the battery life - could you elaborate a bit more on it - like what kind of usage got you 6-7 hrs battery life, and the settings you applied! Also, do you still get the same or is it reduced? This would certainly help me in my purchase decision - currently in between the g14 (2060 maxq) and the 7i with the same specs as yours.
Hi, I no longer have this machine since I returned it. I'm not the best resource for that, but once you unlock the advanced bios.. you can enable undervolting and overclocking from the bios. Then it would be the normal undervolt/overclocking video that is usually the same for most laptops. I am getting the new Omen 15, so I'll see if I can do that for you then.
@@amex4453 false advertising. I wasn't a fan of the machine after it, too much. Spent almost $1,500 after taxes on a machine that didn't even give me what I ordered
Really liked your review. I have a question about adding the second ssd. It looks like there was thermal pad on the bottom cover for the empty ssd slot for heat sink purposes. Did you add the pad or was it preinstalled?
Thank you! It has a spot for it, but my SSD didn't come with it. I had to buy my own SSD screw, and some of the packs on Amazon come with heat skins and thermal pads. Would recommend those!
@@TechRevue There are some games like BF that tear really bad. Especially during cutscenes it's a complete mess. After Gsync you really can't play certain games without cringing.
In review of temps (8:32 for example) i dont understand what are the difference between 3 opions of blue and orange columns (on right) . Can you explain why there are 3 of them?
Of course! Thanks for reaching out and asking. So I measured both the temperatures of the CPU and GPU, and during all 3 power modes. Using that timestamp, performance mode had the CPU at 73 degrees, and the GPU at 66 degrees. CPUs usually run hotter than the GPU, so makes sense. It's in Celcius, by the way.
@@ol3gka for this laptop at least, it's based on fans. But yeah for this game, quiet also cuts back TDP. So there's less heat generated, but also less performance. I figured these statistics were important if you were going to buy a laptop.
Nice review. I’ve watched about 6-7 reviews on this thing and yours mentioned a few things none of the others did, which is always appreciated. The review had a nice vibe to it and seemed really unbiased as well. I recently purchased one of these and am waiting it for it to ship. I’m curious of two things, if you happen to know the answers that’d be great but no worries if not :). 1) I bought the model with just about the highest specs they offered, including an i7 10750H 12 thread processor. Do you know if this will run into the thermal issues others have had? 2) Can it be upgraded to 64 GB RAM? It’s supposedly upgradable but I remember seeing that it says it can only support 32 GB? Weird considering it has two slots.
Thank you so much, I appreciate it! 1) the i7-10850h seems to be the biggest culprit of the heating issues. That, or the vapor chamber tech they used. So our i7-10750h runs a little cooler. But it also depends on how high your GPU goes. Normally the vapor chamber runs hotter, unfortunately. 2) I believe I saw 32gb at most. I imagine 64 would work, but depending on your usage I'd say 32gb is enough for 99% of users. But they used to say that about 16gb a few years ago 😅
@@TechRevue Appreciate the reply. It has a 2080 Super Max-Q. I can't imagine I'll need more than 32GB, but was just curious if it was an option down the road.

@@TechRevue oh OK but your video was really good I said specific gaming test but you not have laptop it's OK but your review is so good see you in next time bye
Great review! I've chosen this for my brother who isn't very tech fluent, so I'll send him this video to show him how to upgrade the storage:) Does the back cover really come off that easily? On other sites I've seen them using pry tools etc. I'm guessing their justification for the 2060 not having the vapor chambers might be that it doesn't need them given the temps you reported. But of course that doesn't excuse not making it clear which models do or don't have it from the get go. It's almost 2000EUR for the 2070 model in Ireland btw which comes with the vapor chambers I believe, so I've recommended the 2060 to him at a somewhat more reasonable 1750EUR with a 500nit 240hz screen.
Awesome, appreciate the kind words :) and well I had to unscrew all of the screws, and its average on how hard it is to take off. the Legion 5 is MUCH harder to take off, for some reason. And honestly, that would be my choice! the i7/2060 with the best screen you could afford. I wish more companies would offer higher nit screens!
@@TechRevue Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully he can handle it. I'm stuck on the other side of world so can't go help him! Yeah, the 500 nit screen should provide some decent HDR.
Hi, very nice review, well done. I'm looking to buy this model with the same specs, Are the temps from yout graphs at stock settingsm or with undervolt ? And how much did the undervolt improved the temps/frequency if you tried it :)
hi! i did all my figures/benchmarks stock. my temperatures were on the healthier side than most with my configuration. i'm learning that Lenovo's QC might be inconsistent, so people with the same specs got higher temps. but it could also be that it really benefits from a good cooling pad. if it's any consulation, it's the coolest (temperature wise) laptop I've ever used. cheers!
It's funny you should say that. I'm using an HP Omen right now and I've never heard anyone complain about it..and I think I very much prefer Vantage. Haha, but maybe I need to get used to the Omen Command Cente
yeah. I'm getting the 240hz with 2070 super max Q so I should get the vapor chamber. In regards to the review, I think you should try to get your volume output balanced better. I was watching this review in an office setting and had to raise and lower the volume several times. Just a nitpick. Otherwise, its a pretty good review.
Hopefully you get good temperatures! And yes, I definitely agree. I uploaded a new review using a dedicated mic yesterday and I think it came out much better. Appreciate the tips!
Nice review sir!, has a chill/relaxed vibe on it. So one question this or rb15 advanced? Im on the edge to choose between these two, you might have a solution for me. Thanks!
I appreciate it! That means a lot. And if you can afford that laptop, it's probably better with similar specs. But RB are super expensive. So I think a 2060 7i and 2060 RB15, the 7i would be a good $400-$500 cheaper. Feel like 7i is a better deal.
Hi! So I made the video on Premiere, and other than the usual crashes Premiere will give you, it was super smooth. The export time was super fast, as well! No problems!
Sure! They're both 8gig sticks, with 2933mhz. The i7-10750 only supports 2933mhz, but the i7-10875 supports 3200mhz. Would go for that model if you have a choice.
@@tronseaddict for sure! and hmm, i actually don't have the laptop right now to check. but as long as the ram is 16gb and has the same frequency of 2933mhz (or 3200mhz if you have the 8 core i7 processor), then you should be good!

disable corsair services, that eats up a TON of battery. make sure you go into advanced power plan settings, and change the maximum processor rate from 100% to around 50%. try lowering your brightness on battery. use the battery saver feature on Windows 10. it should be a lot longer.
@@WassaAlan What I did on mine was ( 1) disable iCue from Task Manager > Startup tab and ( 2) disable Corsair Service from msconfig (uncheck from Services). Great review! Do you think the GPU is upgradable? And for the cooling system, I think with RTX 2070 and above you will get vapor chamber. However, if you get the i7 10875h processor you will get a vabor chamber regardless of the gpu!
You can't switch out the GPUs. And I know! Such a shame. I would've gotten the better processor if I knew. Just felt really short changed by what I paid for, because I didn't learn that until already having the laptop for a week.
You “could” upgrade the GPU. Lenovo has a parts list store if you want to get a motherboard part with 2070+ gpu. But the motherboard cost like $1400. About the cost of the laptop. So not really worth it. AND you have to re wire and remove the components. More of a headache.
Hey, I don't have the laptop anymore. I didn't see the hinge to be a problem for my model when I had it. I was really impressed with the hinge when I had it. Does warranty cover it? I imagine it does
Honestly, most of the temperatures I've seen between the two would point to the heatpipes versions running cooler. But it could also be that the heatpipes configs are specced lower. Or both. But I would say if you're okay with the i7-10750/RTX 2060, it might be the best bet for you.
@@TechRevue ty for respond. I choose between two configurations of Legion 7i, with rtx 2060 and heatpipes and with rtx 2070 maxq with vc. Which one better? Vc is not garanted for lower temperatures, right?
In theory, VC was supposed to provide much better thermals.. but I don't think it really lived up to that. A 2070 maxq only provides 5-10% performance boost over the 2060. So I think 2060 makes the most sense, imo. But would get the 500nit screen if you have the option!

MechG3 is probably one of the best laptops out there, so if you can afford it, go for it. I got this laptop about...$750 cheaper. So definite a better bang for your buck. Regardless, it's bullshit, if you check Jarrod's video, this vapor chamber thermal throttles even with the i7 (8c/16T) + 2070S max-q and he even undervolted the CPU...imagine the i9 HK + 2080S Max+Q
My view is that yes, the laptops with vapor chambers do have higher temps. But I think it's because they have more power hungry resources -- like the 8c/16t processor or a higher GPU. I think without it, it's even warmer. My temps were super low because I had the basic 10th gen i7 and 2060. It still is bullshit. I wanted my temps to go even lower :(
If I'm connecting things right, it looks like heat pipes are better than vapor chamber. I was thinking about this model - 81YT001JUK. Same specs so it should have heat pipes i guess ?
Looks like the case. I'm not sure what the decision is for UK 7i's, but the theory holds true for US. But yours looks the same as mine, except yours has a much better screen. Which IMO is a good call. My screen was great, but I can't imagine at 500 nit, 240hz screen
@@TechRevue yes this screen is tempting, but situation with customer service that don't even know what they are selling is off putting. I'm really afraid that this can have this thermal issues to the point that I probably would put my buy on hold. :| also there is a reddit poll where guys with this specs voted if their system is throttling. And it was around 50/50 in machine with this specs.
Yes! 300 nits might be slightly over a standard laptop screen. I don't think it's bad at all, it's pretty great. I'd only get the 500 nit screen if you can afford it/need to use it outside.
Bro one question what kind of issue did you find in this laptop please tell because I am going to buy this laptop for future usage please this laptop or other please tell
The pros and cons are the last 20 seconds of the video bro lol. But honestly, if you can afford it, this might be one of the absolute best laptops that were released in 2020. It's fantastic.
I had this issue sporadically, too. It sort of went away the longer I used the keyboard, but nothing I could do would fix the problem. I did notice that certain animations did it more often, so I would play with the different lighting effects.
Tech Revue Thank you, I have one last question. In the Vantage software, it told me to update the BIOS I did it and it opened something called INSYDE. I don't know if I should trust it. It wants ID etc. seems suspicious. Any information?
@@Pislik870 hmm.. googling it I've seen something along the lines of spyware, although provided by Lenovo. Reddit doesn't have many answers, but no one says it's good. Would avoid it and uninstall if you could
I got my legion 7i ~ 1 week ago, everything works great but the left region of my touchpad seems to give slow movements and is very annoying to me. I uninstalled iCUE that' the only thing that I can think of changed. It doesn't happen every time but kind of once in two days for a slight moment. I have updated the driver and everything and contacted the support team too. They remotely checked everything (BIOS, Driver etc) and suggested a replacement. However, the exact specs model is out of stock so Lenovo has offered me a refund. I don't know if it is worth it to return the product since the touchpad problem seems like software issue. Right side of the touchpad works 100% though. I noticed that when I ran some codes on Matlab the problem happened more often. If I don't run anything heavy then for days it works smooth. Any idea on what to do?

Thanks for the great video I had my eyes on this laptop since it got announced and i really want to get it It took some time to be avaible in my country and now i just wait for a good deal Tho i have problem with something Its about the wide variety of specs you can choose to have since i heard the vapor chamber is not available for all legion 7i models and just on some select one as well as the intel optimus system or vpro ( i may have butchered it ) and the g-sync option As my country's big retailers dont give much detail about each product it's kind of hard to know what's the best model to get in my budget (And at this point i tried looking at some other laptop as well but nothing caught my interest as good as the clean looking gaming beast ) For example im looking at the rtx 2060 model and we have: 1 Laptop Gaming Lenovo Legion 7 15IMH05 with Intel® Core™ i7-10750H (with 6 cores and 12 threads), 15.6" Full HD, IPS, 32GB, 1TB ssd and in the description they say its the 240hz model WITH A LCD LED DISPLAY which confuses me cuz in the title they clearly say IPS the dual channel ram has the frequency of 2933 Mhz as i said the rtx 2060 with it being the i7-10750h version i suppose it's without the Vpro And the price point is 8,300 RON "reduced" from 9,800 RON translated to usd it means 2,022.42 $ 2 Laptop Gaming Lenovo Legion 7 15IMHg05 with Intel® Core™ i7-10875H( with 8 cores and 16 threads), 15.6" Full HD, IPS, 32GB, 1TB ssd and in the description they say its the 144hz model WITH AN IPS DISPLAY the dual channel ram has the frequency of 3200 Mhz as i said the rtx 2060 with it being the i7-10875h version i suppose it's with the Vpro And the price point is 8,700 RON "reduced" from 10,400 RON translated to usd it means 2,119.88 $ these are the only differences that are in the products description Tho i have no idea if both models even have the vapor chamber So this is my question out of the two wich one is the better option And if there will eventually be a better option (tho i think the rtx 2060 is more than enough for me) which one should i get ? What are the best specifications combo or versions ? The fact that lenovo and my retailers dont actually name properly which is which and what they have properly makes my decision harder to make Hopefully i gave enough information and made sense with i wanted to ask
Woah, tons of info! Haha let me comb through it. So you have two options of the 7i, correct? Your first configuration is the one I had, but with a faster screen. The other option is with the 8 core CPU, but otherwise the same. Correct? So the first configuration is great if you want the CPU performance, those two extra cores really help out. But it also, based on what i've heard from others who have that CPU, causes the CPU to run much hotter than the version i have (with 6 cores). So...gaming peformance should almost be exactly the same. But if you do a lot multi-threaded applications (video editing, something like that), you might want the extra cores. But you have to be okay with the computer running hotter on average. Depends on what's more important to you. Let me know if responded to it correctly :)
@@TechRevue hello sorry for the late response youtube didnt notify me that you responded and i have your video save to re watch it the differences are one has the 6 core i7 and the other has the 8 core the 6 core has 240 hz refresh rate and 100%srgb while the 8 has 144hz refresh rate and 100% adobe rgb with g-sync i supppose idk if the 8 core gets advance optimus so what they have in common is that they both have: 1tb ssd 32 gb ram( not the same frequency) 500 nits monitors rtx 2060 price wise the 6 core is the cheaper you can refer to my first message above tho i await for a good deal so in the end what should i go for i mainly play fps: rainbow six siege (because that's what my laptop can at least run but i want to expand my field ) im no photographer, and no editor but i want to keep this laptop for a looong long time so i dont know what the future has in store for me Also may i ask you in this price range do you think there is a better(or on par) laptop than this lenovo ? but it needs to have all the things the 7i has for example full keyboard, a good display and a camera(the camera might be debatable ) i heard that the asus Zephyrus s17 is amazing and it comes with an external camera but its a loooooot more expensive
Hi bro how was the thermal in this laptop some techies are saying thermal throttling 🙄 pls help I really going to buy this 2070 super max version with 240 hertz display
From my understanding, it's actually the vapor chamber models that get hot. So anything with the i7-10850 or 2070maxQ or higher is more likely to be warm. Seems the heatpipes work better for some reason
@@TechRevue so it has throttle 😪. Can you suggest me a good laptop with 8 cores could and 2070 super maxq config. 😅 Hurray I have subscribed your channel and recommend to my techie friends
I got mine on a very good deal, right when this released. It was around $1250 before taxes. After applying student discount and working with customer service. Now you could find it for around $1400-$1500
Good question. No one knows for sure, which is Classic Lenovo. Based on reddit threads I've seen, 50% of reps say that it doesn't and that trying to do it could harm the motherboard/overheat it. 50% says it works. I wouldn't risk it, personally. lol

Hey, thanks! That's really kind of you!
How are you only at 230 subs ?!
This is a really good review
Just wanted to say, I was shocked at the end hearing the review was just an experiment. Then I noticed the 90 subs! Great work, I thought it was a video from a full-time youtuber throughout!
Hey, man I appreciate that! I'm hoping my next one is even better. Thanks again for the kind words ☺️
I guess it is kind of off topic but does anyone know of a good website to watch new tv shows online?
@Ricky Dariel Lately I have been using FlixZone. Just google for it :)
@Ayaan Travis definitely, been using Flixzone for months myself =)

Great review sir! But I would suggest to always mind your audio levels, in the entire video, it has low levels and inconsistent in some parts as well, there are gains here and there. Overall, keep on what you're doin', this is just my opinion for you to improve. Thank you for sharing.
appreciate the words! yes this was my first review and I was just using my phone to record audio. my new review used a mic. Still working with levels but it's getting better! appreciate it again!
This is a good review. Your editing is good and the info you provide is also helpful to prospective laptop buyers. I just have a little constructive criticism to offer:
1) Playing music in the background while you’re talking makes it a little distracting.

2 ways to check :
1. look through the vent at the back of the 7i (vc is mostly flat while heatpipes are heatpipes....... lol)
2. vantage -> support -> support -> view warranty options -> parts -> then if u see something like "Thermal C 81YT HP 2060" then it's heatpipe, vc otherwise

Enjoy!
@@aaronlake5879 what didn't you like about the GE66? I still can't decide between the 7i and GE66
You're always going to have to tweak some settings with any laptop you get, I haven't found that perfect one yet "out of the box"...Good luck!
the reviews that you make are very easy to understand. good work

Love your editing style man!, amazing review
About the vapor chamber, look at Jarrod's Tech thermal testing (he has one with vc) and temps are awfull, yours are way better!
Appreciate the kind words! Yes, they're really shaky. Based on conversations with other owners, it's the faster processor that seems to heat up the laptop, not the GPU. So the cooling should be pretty stellar. I don't trust the company, but damn do they make a great laptop 😞

I'm not sure regarding G-Sync, but my understanding is that they're only available on the 8core i7-10850. The 10750H isn't g-sync compatible. Personally, I can't tell much of a difference regarding a g-sync vs. non g-sync display.

No need to go back and forth in the predator sense to turn on and off the configurations. Since, once you turn off the App/game it will automatically go back to auto fan. :)
More support to your channel. Goodluck.

Excellent review ! Could you make a video dedicated to undervolting and overclocking?
Hi, I no longer have this machine since I returned it. I'm not the best resource for that, but once you unlock the advanced bios.. you can enable undervolting and overclocking from the bios. Then it would be the normal undervolt/overclocking video that is usually the same for most laptops.

@@TechRevue @Tech Revue it inreresting, that in balanced mod you have higher temps than in quiet
One desire please make gaming test and sound test because you tell so clearly
Hi, I have a gaming test in the video that goes over various benchmarks and game benchmarks. The sound was really loud, got over 80 decibels. Unfortunately I don't have the laptop anymore so I can't do more tests.

Awesome, appreciate the kind words :)
and well I had to unscrew all of the screws, and its average on how hard it is to take off. the Legion 5 is MUCH harder to take off, for some reason.

Hi, very nice review, well done. I'm looking to buy this model with the same specs, Are the temps from yout graphs at stock settingsm or with undervolt ? And how much did the undervolt improved the temps/frequency if you tried it :)
hi! i did all my figures/benchmarks stock. my temperatures were on the healthier side than most with my configuration. i'm learning that Lenovo's QC might be inconsistent, so people with the same specs got higher temps. but it could also be that it really benefits from a good cooling pad. if it's any consulation, it's the coolest (temperature wise) laptop I've ever used. cheers!
It runs hot btw
I didnt like the vantage software at first but after playing around with it its actually useful.

You “could” upgrade the GPU. Lenovo has a parts list store if you want to get a motherboard part with 2070+ gpu. But the motherboard cost like $1400. About the cost of the laptop. So not really worth it. AND you have to re wire and remove the components. More of a headache.

Is legion 7 is better with heatpipes than legion with vc? thx for answer

My view is that yes, the laptops with vapor chambers do have higher temps. But I think it's because they have more power hungry resources -- like the 8c/16t processor or a higher GPU. I had my eyes on this laptop since it got announced and i really want to get it
It took some time to be avaible in my country and now i just wait for a good deal
Tho i have problem with something
Its about the wide variety of specs you can choose to have since i heard the vapor chamber is not available for all legion 7i models and just on some select one as well as the intel optimus system or vpro ( i may have butchered it ) and the g-sync option
As my country's big retailers dont give much detail about each product it's kind of hard to know what's the best model to get in my budget
(And at this point i tried looking at some other laptop as well but nothing caught my interest as good as the clean looking gaming beast )
For example im looking at the rtx 2060 model and we have:
1 Laptop Gaming Lenovo Legion 7 15IMH05 with Intel® Core™ i7-10750H (with 6 cores and 12 threads), 15.6" Full HD, IPS, 32GB, 1TB ssd
and in the description they say its the 240hz model WITH A LCD LED DISPLAY which confuses me cuz in the title they clearly say IPS
the dual channel ram has the frequency of 2933 Mhz
as i said the rtx 2060
with it being the i7-10750h version i suppose it's without the Vpro
And the price point is 8,300 RON "reduced" from 9,800 RON translated to usd it means 2,022.42 $
2 Laptop Gaming Lenovo Legion 7 15IMHg05 with Intel® Core™ i7-10875H( with 8 cores and 16 threads), 15.6" Full HD, IPS, 32GB, 1TB ssd
and in the description they say its the 144hz model WITH AN IPS DISPLAY
the dual channel ram has the frequency of 3200 Mhz
as i said the rtx 2060
with it being the i7-10875h version i suppose it's with the Vpro
And the price point is 8,700 RON "reduced" from 10,400 RON translated to usd it means 2,119.88 $
these are the only differences that are in the products description
Tho i have no idea if both models even have the vapor chamber
So this is my question out of the two wich one is the better option
And if there will eventually be a better option (tho i think the rtx 2060 is more than enough for me) which one should i get ?
What are the best specifications combo or versions ?
The fact that lenovo and my retailers dont actually name properly which is which and what they have properly makes my decision harder to make
Hopefully i gave enough information and made sense with i wanted to ask
@@TechRevue hello
sorry for the late response youtube didnt notify me that you responded and i have your video save to re watch it
the differences are
one has the 6 core i7 and the other has the 8 core
the 6 core has 240 hz refresh rate and 100%srgb while the 8 has 144hz refresh rate and 100% adobe rgb with g-sync i supppose
idk if the 8 core gets advance optimus
so what they have in common is that they both have:
1tb ssd
32 gb ram( not the same frequency)
500 nits monitors
rtx 2060
price wise the 6 core is the cheaper you can refer to my first message above
tho i await for a good deal
so in the end what should i go for
i mainly play fps: rainbow six siege (because that's what my laptop can at least run but i want to expand my field )
im no photographer, and no editor but i want to keep this laptop for a looong long time so i dont know what the future has in store for me
Also may i ask you in this price range do you think there is a better(or on par) laptop than this lenovo ?
but it needs to have all the things the 7i has for example full keyboard, a good display and a camera(the camera might be debatable )
i heard that the asus Zephyrus s17 is amazing and it comes with an external camera but its a loooooot more expensive
I wish it was my next gaming laptop 😞

Hurray I have subscribed your channel and recommend to my techie friends
Can i turn off the ****ing Colors? I want to Use it in work too
What is the price of this variant
I got mine on a very good deal, right when this released. It was around $1250 before taxes. After applying student discount and working with customer service. Now you could find it for around $1400-$1500
can you charge using usb type c?
Good question. No one knows for sure, which is Classic Lenovo. Based on reddit threads I've seen, 50% of reps say that it doesn't and that trying to do it could harm the motherboard/overheat it. 50% says it works. I wouldn't risk it, personally. lol
hows the battery
I got about 6ish hours on battery! Truly not bad
@@TechRevue others are saying its got short battery, did you do something to make it longer?
@@carlocauton3678 disable corsair services, that ate a ton of battery. cap the maximum CPU usage at 50% from within the advanced power settings. as long as you watch your CPU usage, and keep it as low as possible, the battery should last around 6 hours.
So if i go for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q 8GB version (which on the US website of Lenovo is priced at $1770), would it be have a Vapour chamber?? And does it contain G-sync???
www.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-7-series/Lenovo-Legion-7/p/88GMY701410
@@chinmaykamat4108 hi! so if you order a 2070 or higher, you get the vapor chamber. if you get the i7-10850 (8 cores), you get the vapor chamber and G-Sync. In the US at least, they specify all models with G-Sync clearly, since they did the same thing with hiding which models have vapor chamber with G-Sync lol
@@TechRevue Also, could you suggest the better one between Predator Triton 300 (2020 version) and Legion 7i?? Thanks.
@@chinmaykamat4108 for me personally, it depends on pricing. I would go for whatever I could find for the best price. With similar GPUS, I think the Triton would be a better gaming machine. But I think by all other measures, the 7i has it beat, whether by a small amount or bigger. Legion has one of the best screen options, too. if that matters to you!
@@TechRevue actually i am an architect and i am looking for a machine sufficient to handle my architecture softwares SMOOTHLY... softwares like rhino, 3dsmax, grasshopper, sketchup, etc. So more than gaming il b using the machine for these softwares.
@@chinmaykamat4108 Hmm, then you might want the extra cores for that so I'd go for the i7-10850 personally. But my understanding is that both would be able to handle those loads no problem. Might want to upgrade the RAM to something like 32gb if you're worried. Cheers.
On idle what's the temp?
I was getting about low 40s
i was getting between 40-45 degrees :)
Tech Revue still hot.I wonder the Rtx 2070 model
@@Bantamawuah I got the 10850 model, idle Temps 48-50 degrees.
Super big mistake to not buy 500nits 240hz 1ms panel on this.
Hi, great video. Can you help me out to which configurations have the Vapour Chamber from this site:
www.box.co.uk/81YU001RUK-Lenovo-Legion-7i_2943303.html
I was under the impression that the configurations that have GSync Screens are the Vapour Chamber ones.
I'm not sure how the UK is doing it. In the US, all 8 core i7 configs have it, along with if the GPU is a 2070 or over. Sorry if that doesn't help :/
Also, I believe that Gsync is only eligible on the 8 core i7s
2.5 lac only for two kidney 😁
