Hello everyone! OK this is a pretty long video, so I do apologize. I try to make these about 30 minutes long, but the segments just went a little longer than usual, as I'm trying to document this build extensively given the age of the model. The next video (Chapter 4), WILL be the final reveal, and will be out very soon! In the meantime, keep sending those pictures of your work, and don't forge...

I love it, lights bring it to life
Wow, that base is amazing. The model look great nice work

Hi Shawn. Just watched the video. The falcon is a revell kit, one of the latest tooled version of it and the Jupiter 2 is Mobius if I remember. The falcon kit I think is a retooled version of the mpc kit but not as big, although I could be wrong in that lol. Revell 06718 Star Wars Millennium Falcon (Han Solo) 1:72 Scale is the kit scale and kit number.
Regarding the issue of your liquid mask pulling up your paint.... I suggest that you seal the paint with something like dull coat first, that may solve that problem. That should act as a barrier.
Something to consider on what to use in the future: regarding the impulse deck at 9:55... latex caulking. It cleans up with water and and is very easy to apply. Same stuff you would find at any home improvement stores. Takes paint very well too. I would get the one for kitchen/bath if you have any concerns regarding mold. Great for small openings like this.

Really nice to hear the direction your going with your videos.

Pure greatness!
Those look great 😃. Nice job with the weathering. For the chips around the lens, you could try paint. Just a drop at a time with a tiny brush or a toothpick. Let it dry and repeat until filled. Take a bamboo chopstick and sharpen it to a pointy bevel for cleanup. It won't scratch the plastic. Awesome job.
Where can some one send pictures? #enterprise
Hi Bradley! My email address is thescifimodelguy@gmail.com, it's also listed in the "About" section of the channel if you want to grab it from there
Thank you Shawn for showing off my build! I’m not very fast, but I’ll be sure to keep them coming 😊
Hate to burst your bubble my friend, but Toys R Us still exist here in Canada...😅😉
Oh yes, I had forgotten... but it's not a bubble burst at all. Wish they'd come back here
@@thescifimodelguy They have mini-Toys R Us stores within many US Macy's locations (451 according to online article). It's kind of sad, yes, but it's better than nothing. I walked by one within the local Macy's and honestly wasn't that impressed. As of 2023, there are only TWO large locations for TRU. I don't know how they compare to the old "standard" TRU warehouse. UPDATE: According to an online article, the Mall of America flagship TRU location is slightly smaller than the typicall 11,000 sq ft store most of us were familiar with.
Yes we have one here in Sudbury. I never even thought to look there for models.👍
Very Nice! Thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you D.J.!
I've gotten 3-4 of this kit plus other droids in this scale. The BB-8 has a few trouble parts that make assembly difficult.
Robots Assemble!
Thank you for encouraging us to use our imagination and make what we think is cool. I got some negative comments for my builds of the NX-01 RE-REFIT and Pike's Enterprise refit. At the end of the day, we're building these models for ourselves. I can see if you are entering a contest or building for someone else. I've been drawing starships and redesigning them for 35 years. It's fun and I love it. Updates to come on the Enterprise D.
It's my pleasure! Thank you for sharing your stuff!
Hey Shawn, this was awesome! I grew up painting models & did a few SW myself (I def. recall doing an AT-AT, a Snow Speeder, and a roughly 8" tall R2-D2.) I don't have the time for this these days, so it is a lot of fun watching you do it 🥃🥃
Wow an 8" R2? I need to look for that!!!
@@thescifimodelguy Ok, I had to look myself too. Ebay has some for about $60 brand new, same one as I had (very 1970's looking box graphics). I was a bit off, he's only 6" tall. But I was a kid at the time, so.. _Objects in mirror appear bigger than they really are_ 😆
Thanks, Shawn! Remember that this model was one of the original vintage Klingon D-7. The lighting "kit" (4 light bulbs) was included, and the sides of the bulb top were actually green-tinted clear to be lit. A 9V battery was stored under the "shuttlebay" on Engineering, which is why it is shown not attached. This kit has travelled across Canada and more over 40 years or so, and is in "pre-drydock" condition, waiting for a complete repaint. Thanks, again, for the showcase.
Awesome, send us updates!
Suhweeeet!
Lol- your comment has "Translate to English" on it, and changes to "Relationships!" When clicked on haha
I misnamed the video, sorry if anyone saw the words "My Video" on their notifications! 😂
Thats awesome you and your dad's relationship! Sounds like great Dad!
He was..
6:38 I don't think they understood how that Tilley was supposed to work (let alone, look like). nice work, overall though.
Your dads ship is now a artificial reef off the coast of Florida. She hasn't really been under the water that long she was intentionally sunk probably 10 years ago or less.
No, Oriskany was sunk as an artificial in May 2006. It's been underwater for nearly 20 years now. I've seen videos of the wreck taken shortly after and as late as 2010. She was definitely showing signs of further deterioration (some large holes in the flight deck and the rust is spreading all over the interior) but the ship had minimal maintenance since it was decommissioned in 1976.
Love the video. It sounds like he was a great man. My dad served in the Navy as well. In turn, I served in the AF. Beautiful model!
@19:15 The torpedo tube piece rim should be flush with the hull, a good gap filler applied, and then sanded smooth as is the case with both the original studio model (At the Smithsonian) and the master tooling model (At the Museum of Pop Culture, Seattle, Wa). Unless you're trying to make your model look like the D7s from the 1973 Animated Series which used this kit as reference.
Hey Mike, Yeah, I saw that from all the reference photos... But the thing was, that the kit was completely hollow - there was no piece in the back to serve as a stop for the little insert... So, if it went in too far, I could have easily lost it as the kit had already been glued together. I thought about gluing it on to one half of the piece, but it was just a bit too risky for me to decide to do it.. I also considered sanding it down, but that would have been a lot of work for something that I considered to be a minor detail.
I wish they would relese this modle again. #ENTERPRISE

Amazing, I can't believe how well it turned out. Love the sound, I'm going to add that to my refit build I'm working on.
THANK YOU! :) Sorry for the late response!
Hi everyone ! So sorry about the video ending with "see you in a minute..." .. I need to start doing better monitoring the timing on these videos.
Ahhh the amount of times I've clipped a piece off the sprue only for it to fly into the carpet. Very frustrating. Interesting, I haven't painted any of my Gundams. But it makes sense that you would, especially to add the weathering you were talking about.
When the pieces do that a lot on me I've actually put a towel over my hand to keep them contained, or put a box over my hands haha... time consuming but it works !
I guess I missed it, what’s your base color?
Hi Lawrence, The base color is a very light grey - I honestly forget which one! :( I do remember that I picked one that went with blue shades as the accent colors are all some sort of a blue shade.
Your short for this just came through my suggestions! Looks like I got some vids to watch!
Hi Ted! Wow I'm so sorry, I didn't respond to this earlier! thank you so much for the sub!
Very nice work.
Hail SP4H! Thank you !

Shawn, you have to get to Wonderfest next year! This years just wrapped up, it’s the largest Sci-fi modeling conference in the US!
Wow bummer! I didn't know about it. I sent them an email and asked if they have a mailing list. I'll definitely go next year !
@@thescifimodelguy there’s some great content already on UA-cam from this years event. I know you would have an absolute blast and it would make for a great meeting spot for some of your (almost 1000!) subscribers to say hi in person 😊
