#Enterprise I 'm looking for the Klingon battle cruiser in that scale. My local Hobby Lobby does not carry the Star Trek models.

Yes! I built the original AMT kit back around 1970. The I still have the neck piece.
Plastic was white. I painted mine a gloss, navy blue, and uses the chrome pieces on mine.

I'm sure you've thought of it already, but where the "boom" attaches to the main body of the ship is a weak spot where there's a lot of stress on the model. It's notoriously prone to breaking there, sooner or later. Consequently, a lot of modelers add a brass rod to strengthen the model there, and so prevent breakage.

Regarding the remastered 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑢𝑠 original special effects, supposedly, the original plan had been to have the 𝐸𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑒's flux chillers glow. Unfortunately, they didn't have the budget for it. When The Original Series was remastered and the effects were updated, there was talk of having the 𝐸𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑒's flux chillers glow, as had originally been intended. They eventually decided against it, fearing that it might upset some people.
Personally, I like the idea, and the 𝐸𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑒 model that I'm currently working on will have glowing flux chillers.

Ah, the first series I did on the channel was the 650 scale enterprise and I did light the nacelles! Check it out, I think it came out nicely and you might pick up something useful 👍

I got this kit a couple of months ago and haven't decided yet if I'll do it unlighted as the filming model was or to add my own lights to it. I really like the scribing chisel idea for the windows, I have used needle files to square up windows but sometimes they are too big. Looking forward to the rest of the build. Safe Travels!

I really need to get one of these kits, if only to compare it with the original version.
As for the color of the ship, it's going to be one of those cases of whether you want it to look like it did on screen or in the studio. On screen, it looked like the same sort of gray as the Enterprise, while in reality it's got sort of a two tone paint job, with the ghostly green and a sort of slightly purplish gray on the upper surfaces, likely for separation from the bluescreen during effects shots.

It’s so wild to think of it that color back in the day, because for years I only thought of it as being the grey color on screen. #ENTERPRISE
