This is one that I kick myself for not getting when it came out. Glad to see you building it. #ENTERPRISE
Looking forward to more. #ENTERPRISE
This was the first model I bought from my first job in high school washing dishes, must have been around 1979
Do you still have it ?
Great channel! I’m Richie Poole’s friend who shot the photos in our carport in the 70s in Phoenix, Arizona - #ENTERPRISE!
Oh wow nice! Must be a great memory :)
I've found you when looking for an #ENTERPRISE build to follow, how fitting you'll soon be celebrating your 1000th subscriber with an awesome build!
Looks like it's going to be a neat & interesting build! #ENTERPRISE
Fun channel to watch. Enjoyed watching the Constellation build. #ENTERPRISE
Thank you Arden!
congrats on your channel looking forward on enterprise 18inch build and looking forward for the Galactica build #ENTERPRISE
Looking forward to seeing this build. Love the Galactica! Love the #ENTERPRISE
If you're ever in the mood to build another Galactica, the Moebius version of the TOS Galactica is the same scale, but much better-engineered and more accurate.
Hi Michael,
Sorry for the delayed response. . . Yes, I have heard that from some folks and some of the videos I found definitely prove the Moebius to be superior. but I'm glad to be giving this old kit some love :)
What a great video. Great job Shawn #ENTERPRISE or as it will be USS Burton !! Hahaha
I can't wait to see it finished! #ENTERPRISE
I had this kit as a kid, I still have the Viper. I still love the show and the kits. #ENTERPRISE
GIve it a good gloss coat. Use the panel liner. Let it dry and then remove the excess with mineral spirits on a rag for larger areas and a Qtip for more detailed work. The gloss coat is key, as a Satin and a Matt coat will stain the surrounding paint. Try it first on some hidden areas to get a feel.
Thank you, Michael !
#enterprise Good Luck with your Channel!
Thank you Ron!
Another awesome video. Thank you!! #ENTERPRISE
Thank you so much!
Your short for this just came through my suggestions! Looks like I got some vids to watch!
Hi Ted! Wow I'm so sorry, I didn't respond to this earlier! thank you so much for the sub!
Enjoy watching you're channel. I like the original Galactica design. #ENTERPRISE!
Nice model. Remember to use a gloss undercoat when using panel liner. Then you will get the capilary action and flow. Let dry for a while, then cottonbud it. Can be used with matt, but you will a more spread like action. can be useful. But, beware...
Thank you!!! 🙏
I bought this model back in 1979 at a little hobby shop at pier 39 in San Fran. Really fun build. Great channel! Looking forward to it. #ENTERPRISE
Hi JGG! Thanks for the comment!
If you can, can you edit your comment to be "#ENTERPRISE" ? You entered it with a "Z", and that won't come up on my search when I collect all the names to put them in a randomizer to determine who gets the kit :)
@@thescifimodelguy Thanks! That was dumb.
Looking forward to the build! The filming model of the Galactica was 6 feet long. #ENTERPRISE
Yes! I saw some pictures of it when doing the research for this build. Absolutely amazing. Those folks have some real talent.
I put several of these together when I was a kid. Even then I was always slightly bugged by the fact that it’s pretty inaccurate.
I was very happy to see when Mobius released their version, they were a lot more faithful to the show model. 😊 #ENTERPRISE
Yeah, I would love to have a Mobius one. They're kind of tough to find. And although they are FAR more accurate (and have clear parts for lighting), in a way I'm kind of glad to be giving this old 45 year old model the build it deserves.
Looks like a pretty easy build. #ENTERPRISE
#ENTERPRISE
#ENTERPRISE Looking good so far on this build. As for panel liner you might try Dark Grey since this is a white model , it seems to give a better result for me.
Thank you, Charles! That's an excellent suggestion. And if I want to change it up to black in some spots, using gray first will allow that... wouldn't work the other way around.
Thank you again ! 🙏
Will be watching this build. I have a cupboard full of Moebius models waiting to be built.
#Enterprise. 👍🏻
Thank you!!!

Great to see the old gal getting Some love and respect here, I will be curious to see how it turns out compared to the newer versions that have come out more recently. Oh yeah, #ENTERPRISE
Also, didn’t realize Monogram was a part of Revell and still exists somewhat?
Congrats on the channel growth #ENTERPRISE
I have a friend who builds train sets as well. The level of detail is amazing and he makes local scenes from around Ontario where we live. Maybe I can convince him to add the #enterprise.
Model train builders are in a class of their own when it comes to realism. I stare at those sets and could just get lost in there.

Nice update
Great job, white paint? On the tv she looked white, the original model was light grey.
But with the wash it will turn out just fine.
O yah, #ENTERPRISE
I'm hoping so! I'm going to go with another viewer's suggestion and use a gray panel liner instead of black. Adding that should reduce the impact of the white somewhat. Colors are always tricky; the actual model colors used in filming are not what ends up on the screen, and I'm aiming (usually) to go for screen-accurate.
Great channel #Enterprise
Thank you, Mark! Sorry for the delayed response!
No problem.
I remember back in the late 70s seeing this in the toy store in NY. I never owned one until this past year and built it. I posted a video on it. ENJOY THE BUILD! ua-cam.com/video/FyCIlV5RKfI/v-deo.html
Subbed! Thank you ! The ship turned out great! I love the "red alert" theme you went with. Good touch!
