That looks fantastic! Question: regarding the secondary hull port, your model depicts severe damage where none existed on the Constellation in the show. Why?
Hi, Morgan! I'm sorry for the delay in answering.... First, thank you for the compliment! As to the reason why the secondary hull has so much damage, the reason is that this kit came with a damaged (more specifically, VERY warped) bottom half of the secondary hull. It was from a previous enterprise build, and I ended up ordering a new kit... I just wasn't able to straighten it out to get a good fit....so I stored the one with the warped piece... then I got the idea to do the Constellation. My first 650 scale Enterprise build shows how bad it was, and other chapters of this build show what I had to do to get it to fit. I was glad it worked and it helped me learn a few things.
Didn't you use any Micro Set or Micro Sol on your decals? They really stick out and look very un-natural. Plus, The left Nacelle is not drooping enough.
Hi, yes, I do use those products but not on every decal. My phone also picks up details that the eye can't really see as much (i.e. even low lights show like the sun). I'm hoping to get a good quality web cam at some point . Thank you for the feedback 😊 🙏
Was the reason you did NOT destroy the Starboard Nacelle more (as depicted in the TOS-R Episode) more of avoidance of making more effort to create the illusion of interior damaged warp coils or simply 'I didn't because I thought I lacked the time/experience/etc? Still, your model *does* your skillset justice. :D
Actually, it was just a decision I made, chalking it up to time limitations.. had I removed half of it, I'd have had to "fill the hole" left behind and I needed to get it wrapped up.... thank you for the compliment!!! 🖖
