So many memories of building the original kit when I was a kid. Thank you.
Something to consider on what to use in the future: regarding the impulse deck at 9:55... latex caulking. It cleans up with water and and is very easy to apply. Same stuff you would find at any home improvement stores. Takes paint very well too. I would get the one for kitchen/bath if you have any concerns regarding mold. Great for small openings like this.

The original version of the kit had 2 Grain-of-wheat bulbs to light up the bulb (one for the bulb and the other for the upper deck). A 9V battery fit under the deck that you had so much trouble with, so it was not to be glued on. The jagged wedge-shaped bits on the bulb's upper side deck came in clear as well as 2 pegs for the "eyeballs" on the top bean section. In red clear. I'll send you some shots of it. (just came out of 'dry dock' after years in storage).

@The SciFi Model Guy you might be even more disappointed when you find out your Impulse deck side radiators are mounted wrong.
Actually not at all.. when I put them on, I just installed them how I thought looked cool... When I saw the filming model I noticed they're installed differently, I think I mention it either here or in the next video. I made a comment about this being a different variation on the ship or something in my head-canon
