Angel’s tears with rad grenade launchers are great anti-dreadnaught tools - they will bring power axes in assaults/despoilers down to wounding contemptors on 4’s, or 3’s for an axe of perdition. If you also bring a Typhon, you can instant death contemptors, which is always funny. Just a great enabler unit for the rest of the army to attack dreadnaughts.

Another nail in the coffin of using the 40k Sanguinary Guard is that their HH counterparts shouldnt be wearing the death masks as Sanguinius isn’t deqd yet…

26:39 MoS can disorder this Deep strike. It follows all the rules for a deep strike assault, except the first part when the first unit comes down at a marker etc. So this RoW is like, if it gets disordered by MoS 1,2,3 roll your toast. But if you don’t get disordered it’s GG.

About red thirst wlt, isnt shooting something, nulifying the downside? Since if you shoot, you can charge only unit you charged or dosembarked from shot unit.

Terror assault is super strong and very one sided. I play night lords and may use it 1 in 10 games as sone armies just cant handle it. Suggest to your buddy to lay off it and do pride of the legion. Some legions are op written and night lords is one of them

IMPORTANT THING! You two suggested inductii for Rites of War lists for DA.! THATS WRONG. YOU CANT DO THAT! Most of those Rites of War need all your troops to have preset hexagramaton, and inductii dont have hexagramaton, so you cant take them at all. Whatmore, Medders said that your tacticals are always better. Again wrong for same preset need from rite of war limitations...

Important thing unmentioned on firewing is lighting claws, while super cool idea for those specialized hunters, suffer immensly if you give them firewing, due to reducing pool of dice you can fish with for 6s rending. Im super sad about it, becouse lightning claws are my single favorite weapon. And first legion is probably closest to me making it. Alpha legion os just slightly too... annoying with banestrike being so underwhelming and headhunters not fitting newer scale as upgrades.

When you read a campaign book presented like this, you can kind of see where the "30k is a historical reenactment game" crowd is coming from. Even if you don't completely buy into that.

55.56 - does Alpharius’ ability Everywhere and Nowhere convey to the unit he either joins in deployment or his retinue? For his retinue this is simple, yes whichever ability he chooses applies to them, that’s due to the retinue special rule which states ““The Retinue Squad does not use up a Force Organisation slot and is considered part of the same unit as the model selected as its Leader”. Simply they are one unit. It gets more complicated when he joins a unit, as an independent character with infiltrate can’t join a unit without it and vice versa, this only matters for infiltrating, it’s not an issue with any of the other abilities

Overall thoughts of the Mech box from a Mech player. - Less than 800 points per box. - The Thallax are the units you’d typically want. - This means you still need to spend more on the more popular units from Forgeworld - It’ll be a long time until we see full Mech armies unless people invest their money, which I don’t see happening. - People will get very excited about the models but it won’t really go anywhere without more plastic units. - Lots of Thallax spam is inevitable. - The big picture of the range moving to plastic is very good.

The lighter green for DG works well with the black decals on their sheet. If the green is too dark you don't see the outline of their decal legion icon.

Brutal becomes a whole other beast when you reach that treshhold of str8 +ap2 on a weapon (which is ironically the case for the majority of CC weapons that feature it). So while fixing TH by making it str7 is a good step up, this doesn't adress the power disparity that brutal creates between let's say a gravis fist and a gravist chainfist (which for some reason costs more points). Brutal also becomes an entirely different beast when you start giving it to primarchs. With similar statline, a primarch with brutal and one without are two completely different beasts in CC (just compare the Lion to Russ or Vulkan to Ferrus). It doesn't help that a fight between a primarch with brutal and one without is usually a pretty one sided battle. Especially when you take into consideration how primarchs fights usually happen : they avoid duel, roll against majority WS and then allocate their hits to the enemy primarch, bypassing his high WS that could have helped mitigate a lack of brutal. I'd say Brutal isn't healthy or good for the game right now. But it probably wouldn't be if the game designers simply were to add some form of limitation or counter mechanic to the rule. A rule that powerfull and impactfull should not be left without one.

I think Brutal should be *more* ubiquitous. It would help reign in Dreadnaughts and their giant pile of wounds

Thunder Hammers are this editions Divining Blades... The idea of the +3S for T-Hammers has a minor issue of some legions can get furious charge. So that would bump them back up to ID again. Another issue with T-Hammers is stuff like SoH legion trait becomes very strong as it drops the strength by 1 on charge or being charged. So mega useful. Same thing for Emperor's Children with their Initiative 0.5 upgrade for charging can mean an EC character or Termy can crush out any enemies before they get to swing back. Personally I would prefer that Brutal does the wound multiplier after saving throws. This would mean that they would still instant death as they do now. But at least it's only 1 saving throw to make.

Perfect rule change at 36min. +3S and brutal 2 for TH would be far better.

I think biggest issue with any DS is how good Master of Signals/ scanners are. I do think it needs a fix, might see flyers then too. The change to hammers question was a great idea. It's the same reason I think scorpius should be s6 so it's not the best at every single thing. At least then if you make the basilisk / medusa / arquitor etc cheaper and rend 5 they have a use thanks to their higher strength

I use days of revelation but not all the time and I do quite well with Blood Angels but it always depends on what the enemy brings. In my community, we don't tell each what we take so we have the element of surprise to each other. I also switch between different rites of war and tactics a lot to keep them thinking.

I have a few guys at my gaming club annoying me to get into HH. I was looking at Mech and this video was very useful. Thank you very much.

Great video chaps and some brilliant insight for folks trying to combat them. I must say as legion player it seems theres simply nothing you can do vs some mech builds. Obnoxious/broken rules and units, thanks for giving us some hope. Time to load up on some Dreadnoughts and watch them get blown up lol.
