EDIT: Just a small one. It was pointed out that I have still have 10 marines to play with in the EC list and this is absolutely right! This was missed due to it being a second draft that I hadn't copied over accurately. This will get the EC list closer to the 2500pt mk. Personally I would go with 1 of two options. Expanding the despoiler squads or adding a 10 man plasma support squad that can go into outflank. Regardless of this minor errata we still hope you enjoyed the show!
I think a sleeper choice for these box sets is Night Lords. What makes Night Lords good? Large squads of infantry, which this box gives you. Deredeos are also really good in NL because of Preysight so you have Night Vision. I've come up with a list that comes out to 2,536 points that uses just what's in the box + some upgrades. Rite of War = Terror Assault 1 Praetor - master-crafted paragon blade 9 Command Squad - 3 Power Fists, 6 charnabal sabres 1 Land Raider Proteus - lascannons and Preysight 10 Mortalis Destroyer Squad - 2 missile launchers, vexilla, sergeant with artificer armour, phosphex bomb and power sword 1 Land Raider Proteus - lascannons and Preysight 20 Tactical Squad - preysight, vexilla, sergeant with artificer armour and chainglaive 15 Terror Squad - 14 chainblades (which are calibanite warblades with shred), 15 volkite chargers, sergeant with artificer armour and headsman's axe 5 Tactical Support Squad - rotor cannons 2 Deredeos - autocannons, missile launchers, preysight All you would need to buy are some dual pistol hands and charnabal sabres from Beowulf, 5 extra volkite chargers which I'm sure there will be lots available from other people with this box set, and then up to you how you want to do the chainblades and destroyer missile launchers. I reckon for £75 you can get all of that. It's pretty easy to expand this list as you've got lots of slots open.
With the marines, they're not terrible in themselves, it's just that like 90% of the great aesthetic of MkIII was the overlapping plates under the applique, so when it looks like they've ditched them it's just one of those unpleasant weird downgrades. Kit doesn't look bad on its own, but that makes it much easier to have a negative reaction to.
That was my thought, not a fan of the helmet but that's whatever, but they simply have nothing going on in the back anymore without the overlapping mark 2 under the plates.
Currently building & painting my word bearers with a lot of help from you guys. The new box for me is seriously making want my 2nd legion also. The death guard is really calling out to me. Probably, as I'm listening to the buried dagger book also 😂. Got through about 20 of the books now catching up bit by bit. Watched nearly all your content, which really has helped as a new player to HH. Playing & hobbying HH exclusively now I love it that much. Plus, for extra support & and content, I finally signed up to your patron 🙂.

Immediately went to that kick starter and ordered the set of books, going to have plenty for me to look at while I paint and also the volume one will be good for forcing a friend to learn to paint so I can have someone to play with.
As a World Eater player throughout 2.0, the list y'all came up with is pretty good. Overall not a fan of crimson path but for the purposes of using the two box sets I think it works great. Berserker Assault overall is a better RoW from my use, though it does turn the legion into a pseudo shooting army, as you basically have 6 heavy support slots
For the dark angels, you can convert those plasma guns and flamers that come in the box, just chop bits and bobs from one and glue to the other, paint blue/green/red and boom, call it a day.
Awsome video and will be deffo be getting this boxset. An idea that came from you discussing the additions to building the lists from 3d printiny services! A video on say every legion and contacting Beowulf / 3dgator and asking them about each most requested 3d print, like the caedare weapons, charnabal blades, helmets and individual consuls ect with pictures, its a bit more advertising for them but also just helping the hobbyists have more flexibility. Obviously requires a lot of work getting that information but was pretty cool to see the pics up with the lists, keeps in line with the "on a budget" series
Looking forward to getting this box although since I started with Blood Angels I'm starting to consider a second legion for some of the non-blood angels stuff. Possibly Alpha Legion as I wanna do a lot of stuff that seems good with them. slightly debating two of these boxes but depends on price.. I reckon it'll retail at £130 but that's still a massive saving on retail.
Unless I'm going crazy, your emperors children list only used 50 of the marines, so could actually get closer to that 24-2500 point mark depending which unit the last 10 models were used for

I think there could be a lot done with alpha legion and using the explorator version of the LR!

It sucks that only half the weapons will be in one box. Squads with split weapons seem sucky
