@@alejandrocueva3372 It's all trial and error, I haven't tested that combo and there's not a lot of space on that little transmission to mount the motor, it's designed around the little 050 size brushed motor so I don't think the cedar will bol up. Also when considering using this transmission in an SCX24 don't forget the transmission rear output spins opposite to the front, that may present some challenges when using axles other than stock FCX24M axles.

@@TarylWalker I agree many people forget to adjust their trucks gearing in order to support other mods. I also used to mess around with old Suzuki 4x4s and when the big tires went on the first thing to get changed we're the diff gears, you can't see them, they don't make your truck look cooler but the difference in the dirt is massive! One truck I had ended up with 5.13:1 ring and pinion to offset to change in tire size! Thanks for your comment and for watching the video 👍

@havikhobbies It's definitely a learning curve. My first sj413 had 33x10.5 tires on stock gearing. It looked cool but it was a total dog off-road. Then had a 4.16 tcase and 32x11.5s on my second one; the 57:1 crawl ratio was so much better. Then on this last one I had, it had 4.9 tcase with 5.13 diffs giving it a 92:1 CR and with the welded rear diff, power steering and Toyota carb on 33x12.5 it could go anywhere (except the freeway cuz it topped out at about 50mph). @ you should check it out! It’s a micro esc that runs EScape32 and it’s fully programmable with a WiFi linker. The only has great customer service and a UA-cam channel

@ yeah it’s thumbs up from me because all these scx24 builds just stick to rock crawling. But this fms 2spd and brushless motor give it that trailing option which in my opinion really complete this build. It doesn’t look like a rock crawler but a Baja truck which now performs like one too. I’m trying to put a lc80 together and going by your example any new updates on yours? That LC80 video was also pretty good. You steered me into upgrading mine. I dig all your builds and you definitely know how to use nice and budget parts which helps a ton for guys who just started with this hobby. Underrated channel.

@AKseries1 I honestly haven't payed my 1/18 trucks much attention lately and was thinking of selling the 80, they are a great truck I just end up driving the 24's a lot more! @ I’m gonna have to get my hands on the fms parts to build me a 24 mues now. I’ve only experienced with the 18’s at the moment and the aftermarket for them sn’t that vast or customizable compared to the 24 scaled trucks but they’re fun. I’m messing with a mini Godzilla motor in mine and trying the whole Baja truck with the lc80 but it gets too wild for its size. Pretty much how you went with this build crawler/trail rig. Mine definitely needs some serious suspension improvements. I think I had it up at 12mph if not more 😬 anyways subbed and will look forward to new videos and new concepts. 👌

@@henrycruz45cal Nah I say lowering the suspension 4mm definitely did something! I had no intention of running the stock wheels and tires so on they went! It's not a scientific process I know, it's just a way for me to share what I'm working in the hope you can glean some useful information or even some inspiration. It's a normal 3 wire servo, if I'm not using the stock FMS reciever I'll just cut the connector off the servo and solder on a standard servo connector 👍

That's true, that will lower it! You will sacrifice down travel or droop by the shortened shock stroke. There's no free lunch 👍

@havikhobbies very true about the travel being shortened too, i stuck some slightly stiffer springs on my TRX4, lowered the stance and travel, but stiffer springs provided the rebound and almost ensures it doesnt bottom out, i have alot of scale accessories 😀 so i run thicker oil too (1000wt)

@@RCsbyRich Correct, the transmission skid bolts straight up and the shock mount locations work perfectly. Pretty easy swap 👍

@havikhobbies thats cool. I purchased adiscovery and rangerover when they were on offer the rangerover is still in the box. I will use that. Ive done the mb18 take a look at mine with the bespoke decals and want to do a injora bug 24 in purple 💜

Not sure about using just the axles with an scx24 transmission because the fcx24m Transmission has the counter rotating drive line.....

Agreed, I've almost bought one on multiple occasions! These little Turbo Racing P32 Transmitters have been great, but I might pick up the Furitek 4ws radio for some rear steer builds!

@@Pao-z5d I've only tested the Firma Brushless Motor with the Dinky RC D-Drive Micro Sport. There are so many ESC'S on the market right now including offerings from Furitek, MoFoRC, Injora, Castle Creations, Hobbywing, Dinky RC, and many many more! I haven't had the opportunity to test them all, so some trial and error may be required! Thanks for watching 👍

I've only tested the little Firma motor with the Dinky ESC at this stage.

@@stithis No the axles are ring and pinion gears, the FCX24M drivetrain including the axles can be retrofitted onto any SCX24. These axles would be best used with the matching FCX24M Transmission as the SCX24 stock Transmission wouldn't provide enough gear reduction with the ring and pinion axles. So basically you buy any FMS FCX24m (Camel Trophy Series) and you can swap the drivetrain to any scx24 chassis/body combo if you want a two speed transmission and ring and pinion gears for your SCX24 Build! Hopefully that helps!

​@havikhobbies ok so you use the stock scx24 links? Also will this config work with furitek scx24 stinger motor? Will i need a new receiver to run the two speed as well? Or can I use the receiver from the fcx24?

​@stithis yes you will need a new reciever. The stock one is for a brushed motor.

You only need new electronics if you want to run brushless, if you sticking with brushed motor the stock fcx24m electronics are fine.

@@erichfranke Yeah this little Firma Brushless Motor is the only one this size that I've tried. It's only a two pole motor and I like that with the Dinky RC ESC you can go in and program the pole count which you can't do with Furitek. I would love to see more options become available for compact, direct fit motors for this SCX24/FCX24M size! Thanks for watching!

Should just be able to unscrew the top shock mount with a hex wrench (1.5mm?) the lower shock mount is shared with the lower link, so you can either unscrew the shock and lower link together OR carefully twist rotate the shock off the lower link ball thingy. I hope that helps!

The bolt pattern and shaft size fits the TRX4M transmission perfectly, However the motor has a large coller at the base of the pinion shaft that spins with the shaft AND has to fit INSIDE the transmission case! You have to carefully remove material from the transmission case so the collar has room to spin. It was a royal PITA! Also the stock traxxas front drive shaft hits the motor so I made a hybrid cr18p/traxxas shaft by gluing two shafts together! Might not be worth the effort for most people but I'm pretty stubborn sometimes! Absolute shaft snapping monster of a motor though, HUGE power!

but when I set my drag brake to 100% it says “warning” high drag brake can cause the esc to over heat…what do u suggest? I can go to 50% before it gives me that warning.
