It's no fun if everyone does the same thing! I've been waiting for this little system to go on sale to see what sort of performance I can squeeze out of that little motor! Thanks for your comment.
I feel like the Dinky RC or a Furitek Lizard Pro on sale is pretty much the best bang for the buck. If your on a super tight budget, I'd probably just stick to one of the many awesome brushed motors available!
Can I use that motor with a mamba Micro crawler ESC? I like the fact that it fits right in without modifying the mount or buying a different mount. Thanks in advance.
@@MARKLINMAN1 I imagine that any sensorless ESC capable of operating a 2 pole 4500kv outrunner would spin the motor just fine, I have no idea if the low speed resolution would be good for crawling? It's just a case of testing the combination and seeing if it works for you! Thanks for your comment 👍
I was this 🤏 close to soldering mine to the Dinky ESC. But then that Injora Fat Viper dropped and I ended up soldering that to the esc instead. If they ever come back in stock ill probably go the route you did but keeping it completely stock for class one rig. Id love to see this combo in a deadbolt.
@@wvlfkvnt Yeah fair enough, I set mine up with 2mm bullet connectors so it's plug and play. This little motor definitely works better In lighter builds, it's no torque monster. I have a slightly modified deadbolt here in the fleet I might be able to swap it into for testing! Thanks for your comment 👍
I've been on the fence about this little motor as well! i have the MEUS rock runner i was trying to find a good motor due to the small motor mount location. I think this would be a good pair with that ESC. Thanks for the info!~
@@ThisGuyST_RC I think this motor is a cool option for builds that don't have space for a typical brushless setup, but it's also a tiny little motor so the low down torque is limited making it better for lightweight builds. It's a keeper for me! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍
@@tawcaw I soldered 2mm female bullet connectors to the wires coming out of the ESC so the motor wires are a direct connection. The order doesn't matter, you just plug in the motor and if it spins the wrong way you just swap any 2 motor wires around or reverse with ESC programing. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching 👍
If it works for you then that's awesome! I didn't love the system running the stock controller, I guess it depends on your truck and terrain and like you said your expectations! Thanks for your comment 👍
A friend of mine bought one a while ago..might be OK for a small car or boat but there is NO WAY TO PROGRAM IT...a total waste of money unless you want to pay $50 for a brushless motor 😉
Totally agree mate, go spend your 50 bucks at Mofo RC! I picked this up to test the motor out in this project, and I'm impressed with the motor when running with a good ESC 👍 I hadn't seen anyone else test the full capability of this motor before, I do these things for fun and so you don't have too 🤣 Thanks for watching !
Yeah, I knew going in that the ESC was the culprit for the poor performance and that the little motor had more to give, so I gave it a shot! I'm genuinely surprised by how good this little motor is, perfect in a lightweight build! Thanks for your comment!
Thanks mate! Yeah it's definitely a setup that could be useful for some trucks, mainly when space is a concern and you need an ultra compact brushless motor. It actually crawls very well, I'm impressed with it!
Thanks Eric! All is well mate, just gets busy around here and sometimes hard to fit all the fun stuff in! Hope you and your family are doing well mate!
@@havikhobbies we’re doing as best as we can for now bro🤘🏻 hope you and yours are doing well! Nice to finally get some seasonable weather on the east side lol
Nice set up man, there are a few diff esc's now to choose from out there. That lil motor seems to do pretty dang well too. I dig how its a nice fit with stock gear. I think those trenchers are thee best tire out there atm. Be awesome if they increased em to around 62mm though :)
Thanks Durp! Yeah the little motor is solid, shame about the rest of it 🤣 The Dinky RC ESC is really cool, I like it a lot! Trenchers rock man, I'm going to the hobby store to buy more!
@@havikhobbies Yea been wondering about that Dinky RC Esc, seems pretty legit and is a nice option for those who dont wanna spend a lot on a Furitek. Got 2 sets of Trenchers myself, best tire out there for technical lines. :)
I do like the Furitek stuff, the app is a little glitchy, maybe that's just my crappy phone? I like that the Dinky RC is a little more universal, it seems to be able to get good results with any motor you throw at it! Some people won't be a fan of the programming experience using a Desktop/Laptop computer, it's less convenient that with an app.
I already had the Dinky ESC and like I said In the video I've wanted to test this little motor since it came out, it recently went on sale so I grabbed one! This video is not intended to be a brushless motor buying guide, but rather to show what this little motor is capable of and I have fun doing these experiments! Spend all your lunch money on Furitek, I'm cool with it just make sure you get outside and have fun! Thanks for your comment!
@@havikhobbies i might get this actually. I built a rally porche 911 out of an scx24 and i think this is a good powerplant for it even w the stock esc.
Great job. I was to scrap mine but now it is a great option for tighter builds❤
@@dadada435 Yeah the controller isn't great, but the motor is gold! I bought another one for a different project! Thanks for your comment 👍

I wonder what other brushless ESCs could be used. Finding that sweet spot between price and performance.
