MSFS SDK 2024 Tutorial - Create a Basic Project
In this tutorial I will show you how to create a basic project in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (MSFS 2024) SDK
I will teach how to navigate using the developer camera and how to use basic Object like the Polygon to remove buildings and trees,
and you will learn how to add default scenery objects and to manipulate them.
Then we will save and compile our work, so we can have a folder ready to put in community and enjoy !

    I had no idea all these tools were built-in to do this. I might just have to build out my local airport that is butchered in the sim. Like they have the runway on a taxiway bad!

      @@jasonhurdlow6607 I know an airport where the runway is the taxiway. Are you from Ridgeland in SC? If yes, you can look at my scenery of 3j1. Runway, Taxiways, hangars, fbo, some famous local aircrafts and Denis hangar where he is building the P51 from scratch. All of that by following Manu's videos.

    Yeah!!! "Manu - Federico - My sceneries Maestro" is back for MSFS2024. For those who didn't know him yet, you'll become a fan, as every single of his video is a gem. I need to go check every scenery I made for msfs2020, thanks to you, and make them run for 2024. I have checked with my local airport and find out that in my 2020 scenery some of the persons and static planes are no more visible. I noticed that some elevations have changed too. I need to readjust their vertical position. I'm using the Steam version, and had no problem to install it on the first day. I was not able to use it later that day ( just like everyone), but now it seems fully functional, and it's AMAZING. Even the prettiest model use make-up, so let's make our already beautiful game even more realistic with the sceneries that we will create with your tutorials. Thank you Manu. PhilUSA

    good day to you. first of all I model a terminal in 3d s mag and then export it for blender. when I finish the job I export from blender for msfs2020 find the number of objects are enormous some objects missed on FS 2020 from my model do you know the reason why this happened ?

    Thank you for your tutorial. I'm adding light rows for an airport, but I'm noticing the lights don't spawn at the vertex position, but slightly to the side of it. Same happens if I set "Snap to vertices". The origin point of the lights/mesh is not the vertex but next to it. Is there a setting for this? or it's a bug?

    With the last SDK update i'm unable to add a second emitter, Impossible to create a link between the visual effect and the second emitter

      @@YounesCheikh I can confirm the behaviour. It is very frustrating. This is because the new nodes are not referencing correctly the guids of their parents. You can fix it quite easily in the xml if you get what is going on there If you join the discord I can help solve 🙂

    It just came to my mind. I used to use model converter X for FSX. I think if you export animated model from Blender as .dae and import it to model convertor X i think you can set command for animation there then after that you can export it back to FSX. But i dont know if it is applicable for MSFS. but its worth to try. And regarding the Landable surface i used concrete platform from setting option in model convertor X. But i dont know if there option in blender i can use it without using of model convertor X.

    Can i set command for animation instead of time so for example when im infront of hanger i type command for example "ctrl + o" hanger door will open. And "ctrl +c" the hanger door will close. Is it Possible?

      @@kickoff3312 Hey thanks for you kind comment! The Asobo plug-in doesn't allow importing already compiled glTf (for copyright reasons) I don't support anything about dealing with stuff one doesn't own rights, For studying only, and without any support, you may try with the Flybywire plug-in, it is still on GitHub. It will likely brake some feature of every recent decent airplane on export (and hope it does so!)

      @@The_Fabio_Fernandes Hi Fabio, I'm using Painter too, no changes in the overall process. The role of Substance Painter is to provide textures, (basically albedo, comp, norm and emissive if needed) Plug them in the specific material slots and you are done

      near Cairn there is the "Skyrail Rainforest Cableway", yes, there is (all cable cars/ gondolas / chairlifts and drag lifts are included in Project Lifts). It is procedurally generated so obvisiouly the right pylon/cabin color and model is random

    Your tutorials are the best!!! One suggestion for creating the box at the end, you can increase performance by creating a 3 sided cone. This will reduce your triangle count from 12 down to 4. This will help just a little for large airports.

      Actually beyond that 2 triangle planes at 90 degrees from each other will reduce your below ground triangle polygons to 2 ;)

    Discord is still giving trouble - how are we to export using the curret exporter (Asobo Exporter for Blender) and the latest SDK (v0.23.3) for this SimObject?

    Could you please note in the comments on what should be written in the XML and cfg files. The videos quality is questonable (even when set to the highest level).

      @@Bluemonkey123 in latest exporter you will need to go in the shading tab and locate the normal map map node, there you should be able to change the strength

      With the current SDK snd Asobo exporter, what settings are required to properly set LODs.

      @@pys-dafo_intl For each lod, make a collection with object name followed by _LODx Something like FancyCone_LOD0 FancyCone_LOD1 FancyCone_LOD2 Wheb exporting using the Asobo Multiexporter, on the firt tab click Grouped by collection, press reload LODs and you are done 😊

      @@MSFS-SDK-TUTORIALS On the LOD Values, should they be 100 - 0 or is it better to start at 10 - 0?

      @@pys-dafo_intl Lod values are a percentage of the screen There is really no " correct" value for them Anyways, for small objects you would want to use something around 30/50

      @@djskullhd export the gltf from blender Open the gltf with notepad, save, The model will update in the game

    Do you know how this is done in Photoshop? I have my channels setup exactly yet, I get an odd result.--Nevermind, I just learned that if I save the file as a TIF instead of exporting as a png, it works perfectly. Thank you as always, anyway for producing some of the only and best videos on SDK out there.
