    Thank you, Mr Pinotti, for making this as clear and straight-forward as it can be! I'm in the process of making my first airfield for MSFS, and have been modeling the buildings for several weeks. I have made the same airport for two earlier FS versions, but there is so much new information to take in when moving to the new sim. I was not looking forward to learning the scenery editor from scratch - but this was just a perfect tutorial. Now I'm actually looking forward to continuing the project! Mille grazie!

    Thanks Frederico for putting your time and effort in making this video. It will help me a lot in reorganising my EDGK Airport i did a year ago. I arranged it as a scenery and not as an airport which was wrong in the first place. I also added a few Landmarks and Buildings to the City the little Airport belongs to. I will now split the project into a scenery and an Airport and i will rebulid the Airport from the scratch again. Your Video gave me very helpful insights in how to do this. Thanks again!

      I won't call wrong the Scenery setup, the Aiports setup Is Just a .xml (like the the Scenery) with an Aiport object already included
      However, nice idea to have different Packages for the Aiport Area and the surroundings, easier to mantain and avoid killing Photogrammetry (It Is a behaviour that has been observed in other packages)

      Hello
      Thank you for a tip, I checked all and it actually worked!
      I hope you don't mind me putting here what I did, so anyone who will come here looking for similar answers could do what I did .
      So what I did:
      - uninstall and install again all SDK files for MSFS
      - when starting Dev Mode, I open the new project via tools/scenery editor/new project, exactly the way it's shown on your video.
      - When project is loaded do not go straight to inspector. I think, what I was missing was in the Project Editor file, before loading the project, I did not insert thumbnail picture and I was leaving manufacturer field blank.
      Now, this morning I did attach thumbnail and filled ALL fields there are in the Project Editor before going to Inspector and loading project. Than as before, I did what I had to, built the scenery than exported with no problems. Possibly it’s just the project editor needs ALL info for .json file to be created.
      Hope it makes sense.
      Thank you once again Federico!

    Hi Frederico, thank you for getting me started again. I now have a more understanding of the packages, etc. Unfortunaly , I didn't keep a copy of my old project and it looks like I will have to start all over again. I'm not complaining as at least I can make things work but still I'm learning. Looking forward to the next video. Bongiorno! Really really appreciate this tutorial. I am using it to replace a small airport in Missouri. Question: have you noticed anything weird when placing runways? I will read up on this but it looks like placing a runway distorts the land around it in a major way. It’s probably normal and I am trying to avoid “flattening” the terrain by default. Again, grazie mille for the tutorials! You are appreciated!

    • @MSFS-SDK-TUTORIALS
      @MSFS-SDK-TUTORIALS  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks mate! When placing a Runway, flattening is automatically applied, you can tweak the value of the flattening inside the Runway properties, Terraforming, change the default "-1" to something more appropriate, 20 meters can be enough to blend with the surrounding terrain
      Than, if needed, you can tweak the runway profile to add again ondulation or slopes

    • @ryuhaneda
      @ryuhaneda 2 роки тому +1

      @@MSFS-SDK-TUTORIALS thank you. Initially the terraforming value is set to -1 meters. I spent time playing with that value and added a profile. I struggled with it for a while, but when I saved my changes and closed and reopened the project, the runway looked a lot better (I used a profile, kept the terraforming at -1 meters). I guess that worked! 😁👍

      @MSFS-SDK-TUTORIALS  2 роки тому

      if you find something wrong in a payware project, contact the developer, they will be happy to fix. in they will not do that, you can blame them everywhere or ask for a refund!
      You can easilly ADD things to an aiport (infact my tutorial is adding stuff to asobo's work), but if you want to MODIFY someone else work, you need to erase that via the deleteAiport commands and redo the stuff you have deleted, usually payware project are for large airports, will be a big work!

    ciao Federico complimenti per il video, vorrei partire da un piccolo aeroporto esistente in terra battuta inattivo che non é presente nel database degli aeroporti di FS2020 come codice ICAO, quindi visibile solo graficamente (per quel poco che si riesce vedere). Vorrei solo dargli il nome ed il codice ICAO per poterlo caricare direttamente su FS2020 e decollarci senza mettere grafiche, pista asfaltata ed/o altro, penso che dovrebbe essere più semplice per me evitare di metterle..... se é così, mi puoi dire i passaggi essenziali da seguire sul video.
