MSFS SDK - FlyIn - Drive In for Airplanes

When someone asked for an animated flipbook,
and you Blender something for one hour using armatures,
and eventually you realize that you are a Master at VFX (buahaha),

Is it possible to create new island on sea and start adding buildings, trees, roads ... etc ?

How did you do this?! I’m trying to animate some billboards in MSFS and can’t find any resources on how to do it

Take a look at the Visual Effects video, it is a simple Atlas Player 😉

Ah so I’ll have to create a custom material with all of the images I’d like to show and then use the atlas player like you did with the flame material? Thanks for all of your tutorials btw. I’m new to msfs scenery building and watched almost your whole channel. They’re super helpful

It seems like this method is limited to square images only? There must be another way to do this, SamScene3D NYC timesquare and FlyTampa Vegas have animated billboards of all shapes and sizes

@@Dfflyer if you own 3ds max you can use animated materials, quite handy to make such animations (not really documented although)
In Blender, however, they are not supported
Depending on the animation you need workarounds needs to be found, billboards are not always rectangular 😅

Don't own the add-ons, just watched a couple of video reviews of them, don't see anything special, all "flip book" or moving objects animation like the lights on the piramyd you can easy make in Blender 😃

@@MSFS-SDK-TUTORIALSI just tried a new approach using your animated air conditioning tutorial that is working for me. I stack planes in blender with the images I want to cycle through on the billboard as materials on each plane and then animate the planes locations so that a new image is revealed every few seconds.
