Oregon is such a wonderful place for rockhounding. I'm fortunate that my ag job brings me to a lot of places. There are some areas where you can't take a few steps without finding at least a little granule of agate.
Good vibes from the pebbles to the boulders man, appreciate your time and knowledge. 🍻💚☮️
love the music and the video is lovely
Thank You. 🙂 I worked really hard on the videography for that video. I tried my best at the time to blend my steady cam and and drone footage into a cohesive shot. Everything was filmed within 10 miles of home. Welcome to the channel and thank you for subscribing.
Sorry for your loss. Try to stay busy. He would want you to carry on. The time will come when the thought of him will bring a smile to your face.
Sorry to hear about your loss of a loved partner. He sounds like he was a compassionate soul.
There is no volume. Also I’m really sorry for your loss 😢
Your husband sounds like he was absolutely wonderful! I hope he was able to pass that caring nature to others so that they may take his place protecting, loving, and caring for those who need it most❤
Congratulations! Very nice video. *Have you ever found fossils in this type of rock?* 13:15 This stone is very similar to what I found when I was a child in my grandparents' area in Romania, at the foot of the Carpathians. Many such red-brown rocks contained inside fossils of snails with flat and conical shells, and even extraordinarily beautiful coral polyps that covered the entire surface of the rock, which had an orange color.
I have a beautiful piece of carnelian agate, that I have been wanting to rough polish for the longest time, but I have been so scared to mess it up, because I have no tools, not even a dremel or a whetstone, all I have is wet sanding paper. But I am so scared I will mess the stone up. Do you think sand paper alone would be enough? You have been giving me a bit of courage, but I am still scared to do it. Or should I wait till I can get a dremel? Thank you so much for this video. 🌸🌸🌸
Wow beautiful thank you
Hello, I just found your videos thank you for sharing. Just wondering if this is the Chetco River still? We are taking our trip there and don’t want to miss anything.. again thank you
This hunt was on the Rogue River. The rogue is north along 101 at Gold Beach. Gold Beach is a short 30 minute drive from Brookings. Most of my videos are filmed on the rogue. The south bank of the Rogue has a few dozen publicly accessible gravel bars. Thank you for watching. It means a lot to us that people like what we're doing.
Moss agate is my favorite rock. He'll yeah.
I'm constantly surprised by what I find here.
Cool stuff
I subscribe to youtube channels very rear, but you are one of them :) your video is with nice vibration
You are a great teacher for newbies to rock identification.
A rock tumbler works a lot better
As is typical with your generation, you think your way is the only way. The ENTIRE purpose of the video is to show how to prepare and polish an irregular shape stone. Character over homogeny skippy dipstick. ;)
@@DavidBriggsAdventures No need to be an ass about it. A tumbler is easy and quick, thats all.
@@laszlosoltesz3772 You should follow your own advice gaslighting projector dipshit.
Turn that irritating music off. Otherwise, the video is great!
Turn off your irritating voice Karen.

I like your funny words magic man
What did you call me
Great video. Thanks for the walk.
Does petrified wood have any value?
Sure. Feel free to look up sold listings on ebay
I can spend hours upon hours looking at rocks!! I absolutely love it...its peaceful and its exciting!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Looks like a rock
Looks like a little less smart mouth is needed when someone is teaching you something Karen. ;)
I used to love "rock hounding". Still have my hammer and chisels. Still have a lot of rocks. I am 83 now and haven't gone out hunting rocks in a long time now, not by choice but due to circumstances. Sure do get the itch every once in a while though. 🙄
lol i found a machine at work and i get to borrow it on the weekends i am so grateful and this helps heaps!!!! Thank you to you and baby jesus !!!!
What kind of cleaner did you spray her with ?
👍👍 very good video 👍👍 very good rocks 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Lovely my dear. Good hobby. What will you do with this beautiful Stone.
those cyrstal are incredible
Let’s go. I love rock hounding
Lake Superior along the north shore in Minnesota has some of the best rock hounding shorelines.
The great lakes region is full of awesome rockhounding spots. It's just hard to resist the lure of the wild rivers coast. There's just something about ice blue water flowing over quartz boulders and the impossibly vibrant green of an old growth forest in the rainy season. Every part of the country has a place that connects on an emotional level for someone. I've come to love where I film. No matter how tough my life is as a cancer and memory caregiver, I can find a sense of peace in the forest. I get out into nature to deal with the emotional trauma of what I do. It's a bit heavy but we all have a story. That's my life. I see people through their last struggles to survive and be present as they meet their creator as they leave this expression of life.
Wonderful Advice For any PASIONATE collector of any kind!😃🥰
You just helped me identify and understand one of my mystery stones, thank you!
I don't know how I stumbled across your video on how to clean rust stains but I'm from Eugene! Thanks for the videos. I'm new to rockhounding though I've picked up rocks and cool sticks, dead bugs etc forever.
Pealing potatos :o) Does it matter what speed you run dremel at ?
If you have a water drip going then you can crank it up. If not, then medium speed and frequently wet the stone to keep it cool.
I still don't know what I have. Can I send you a pic😁😜
What is an agete?
An agate is a type of quartz that forms in layers of varying chemistry to produce a banded effect when the stone is cut or chipped.
I found a red garnet in Mexico..🤠💕🤠
I rather enjoyed your speech, you could write it down and it would sell. Very well done!
Your TOO CUTE my fellow rockhound
You talk too much - stick to what you should do and show and cut the 'conversation' talk.
Your face makes people puke too much. Stick to housekeeping for the blind
David: any way I can send you pictures for your help in my identification of a couple of stones?
Excellent video. Have you been out this year?
I've had a few attempts but my health is failing me. I have trouble with arthritis from falling off a debris pile at ground zero. I'm doing the best I can. I want to try cutting to continue my channel but it depends on my health.
@@DavidBriggsAdventures I'm sorry to hear that. Thanks for replying to my comment. I just spawned as a rockhound not long ago- I'm hooked! I'm sure you have plenty of rocks to cut, but if you want some, let me know. I live by Salem, OR, not sure where you are, I think I saw on one of your videos it mentioned Curry County. Love that area. I especially enjoyed your carnelian agate video, that is my favorite rock to find right now. They sure are beautiful. Question: with the banding, I know ever rock is different, but if a rock in sliced on the banding, is there a chance the banding is thick enough for the banding to be on more than one slice?
The banding is a lot like the layers of a jaw breaker. Imagine coating the inside of a jug with colored paint and letting dry before adding a different color and letting it dry. Repeat the process until the inside of the jug is filled. That's how agates are formed, except with chalcedony in a void in a rock.@@jasond6770
@@DavidBriggsAdventures Amazing, thanks! I think that is why I'm so facinated by the banding, it is so unique on each stone, not two banding patters are the exact same that I have seen. Thanks for the information. Did you learn this on your own, or did you study geology?
Clear concise but thorough, great video and lesson.
is it just me or does it seem like the water pressure is low?
it is. its also needed for that type of material.

Your face is not disfigured. You just have a little bit of age on you. We are all too hard on ourselves. Thank you so much for your video. Your voice is so comforting and relaxing. I have wrinkles on my face now at age 75. But I don’t mind, you see, I think I’ve earned every one of them.
Glad to see you are back at your joyful hobby.
