- In this video, I take a morning walk out on the bar to see what the receding water has left for us to find.
This trip produced some really great examples to share with you.
An early highlight was that Orbicular Jasper in 3 colors.
Further on, the Wildfire Jasper caught my eye. Those colors were really quite vibrant.
Ran into a visitor to the area. Was discussing the local geology.....Remembered the mineral I was forgetting..... Chromium..... Just in case you see this video. :)
We pick up a few more fun stones and bring them back to show you what we found.

Loved it! Thanks, David!
I LOVE jasper!! And, especially green ones and then yellow, red, orange. Rocks ROCKS.
Awesome and beautiful 😍 ❤ your finding Rocks I use to find in a place called Acqua Aullci here in Southern California 😀 I sure do miss that place. Your a great rock hound !!!!
David its awesome to see your channel has reached the monetize point.. hopeful that folks watch commercials and you can continue to produce more content.
Excelente video David!!! Saludos desde Valencia España!!!
Thank you for watching. :-)
You explained Brecciated perfect. Really people you won't get a better layman's explanation for it. Around here brecciated stones are highly prized, until it's an agate. Then it's called a Ruin Agate. There's another nickname for them, but I never find them, so; out of sight, out of mind. Great finds. The Limonite swirls in that one is striking.
thank you for taking us along!! those were some beautiful treasures you found!
Glad you enjoyed
That piece at 3:50 omg is that beautiful. Can’t wait to see that cut
Thank you, for the breccia clarification. Much appreciation!
@17:53 looks just like the Oregon jade I find over in the applegate
So many awesome finds. Thanks for sharing. Blessings
Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for shearing! Every rock you pick up is unique...
And I learned a lot from you.... thank you!
Just sheared on Facebook, because very interesting!
pretty poppy pasper. jasper.
No Poppy Jasper appears in this video. What you see are 2 varieties of plume Agate commonly claimed as plain Jasper. Both stones are bound in chalsedony. The degree of which determines what you call it. Dispersed and billowing, it's plume. Stacked, flat-ish, and shades of fire colors,.. .. it's wildfire Jasper. I've shown our local Poppy Jasper in an entire video. Was last year I think 🤔
David, those Jaspers are stunners. Some awesome pieces, another terrific video. Also the obsidian near the end should be just as spectacular once cleaned up. Keep Safe & KeepbRockin
In that brecciated jasper you showed but didn't pick up,
I could see a mosaic flower
Beautiful!
Those are awesome stones you found David! The poppy jasper is a real winner, along with all the rest! I know you say these stones are hard to see on camera, but as a rockhound, I can see the deatails very well. These are just amazing, and the plume jasper agates are so rare for me to find that Im always happy seeing someone else find a few :)
Me too. My days are really numbered now. Soon everything will be locked in until late March, early April. Cool to see what people find in other states.
"The Obsidian Inverse" sound like a movie...but better!!!
How accessible is Kimball Bar for someone using a cane for balance?
Thumbs up!!! From Rogue River, Oregon!
Clark and Virginia
Kimball Bar is entirely surrounded by private property unfortunately. For reference, almost every gravel bar on the North Bank of the Lower Rogue River except for Canfield Bar is on private property or attached to an RV Park. The South Bank is accessible and marked upriver as far as Lobster Creek. Disability accessibility is subjective. I've seen people with walking sticks and canes on many of the bars. I have balance issues when my arthritis flares up. I just take it slow. My best advice is to try it if you feel comfortable. Most of the track ways are pretty well packed down. If you've tried other gravel bars, then it's comparable. (Note: A suitable vehicle is strongly encouraged for driving on gravel bars. Gravel off packed tracks can be quite loose. Marked gravel bars have limited parking at the road and or gravel bar landing.)
@@DavidBriggsAdventures Thanks for the info.
I'll try it.I like that spot.

I'm always excited to watch your videos. Your finds are amazing and the information you share along with them is valuable for anyone wanting to increase their knowledge of rocks. When you talk about "clean up", you're referring to actually working the stone on some kind of lapidary equipment, correct? My clean up has been getting the rocks in soapy water and using a brush to remove the gunk. Most of my finds are on dry land so I don't have the river tumbling effect. Sometimes I'm cleaning cow stuff off of them! (This is why I would never lick a rock!) 😃
Acqua Dulcci, I don't know if I'm spelling the name of this place right were I used to go to, Ooooo well 😅
Sometimes my wife gets mad because look at my agates with my light because you can always see something different every time.

Nope. Orbicular. Poppy formations resemble the flower. Colors lay upon each other in the form of petals or concentric rings combined. When similar to fossilized coral but Jaspagate or Jasper it's orbicular. Please watch the video covering this region's varieties of Poppy Jasper.
First.
Dances through the room throwing confetti dressed like Rip Taylor 😁
