J got seriously injured No video this week

- J had a pretty serious fall. He badly broke his arm.
Our hospital has no Orthopedist. Not just, not on duty...Not at all...
I was told there was nobody willing to transport him.I had to pack him up with pillows and blankets to make the 2 hour drive to a real hospital in Coos Bay.
The sound of a loved one crying out in pain cuts into your soul deeper than any harsh word ever could.
I don't have anything kind to say about the building posing as a Hospital in my town.
Within moments of arriving, a Surgeon was called in to get my baby put back together again.
A few hours of emergency surgery rods, screws, and sever deep conversations with God later, he came out of surgery.
We tried to lighten the mood by telling him the surgery was a success and he was now a beautiful woman. You'd have to understand our sense of humor to know how funny that is. (Both of us have supported our LGBT siblings in spirit & the Drag Community for the better part of 30 years)
J & I don't talk about our personal lives much if ever. We just didn't feel like our relationship mattered much in the context of a rock hounding channel.

Very sorry about your accident, I broke my leg and both wrists wiping out a couple years ago and I was hounding rocks again in no time, stay positive better days ahead👍

Rogue, I've got some of your rocks via Currently Rockhounding! I live in Beatty, east of Klamath Falls. I wasn't sure whether you were a "rogue rockhound", or a "Rogue River rockhound", but from your familiarity with the area I'm pretty sure you're the river kind! I opened my box of rocks and they're still sitting here on my table where I can look at them and enjoy them. Thank you!

I know a little bit of how you feel, I am laid up at the moment after getting a leg caught between 2 cars in the pits at a racetrack. Nothing broken luckily.
Hope you mend quickly and without too much pain. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin (once you have had time to mend)
Stand in a corner but away from the wall a bit. Feet together. Look at your feet and raise your eyes slowly up to the ceiling and down raising your head up and down with your eyes. If you lose your balance you have the wall. This is a good starter exercise for balance. After the arm is better of course. There are ones you can do to further help. Being older too, I get it. Fast healing prayers your way. Emotionally too because it’s often hard on our psyche to realize we’re human.
Thanks. That one of the balance things he has to work on. J, bless him, has never been known as the most graceful of souls. He's in good spirits, but the pain meds make him sleepy. He's got a lot of healing to do. Poor guy has big ugly bruises down the side he fell on. It's gonna be a few weeks at least before he can walk around outside. Every day is a small improvement over the last.
