Nothing lowers my blood pressure while simultaneously creating excitement like rock hounding or watching others do the same. Thanks again for this Zen moment David! PS: Holy Crap that was a nice orbicular Jasper! Cheers and Rawk on!

Hi David, Some great looking Jaspers. I’m still very much a beginner at the hobby since retiring though I am becoming a big fan of Jasper because of the multitude of colours and patters. I looking to go to an area were there are some nice Jaspers I the near future. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin.

That orbicular Jasper is amazing! Such contrast all the way through and it appeared solid enough to make some fine Jewelry worthy cabochons. Well done!

Thanks. I now have a nice collection of the stuff. I hang on to it until I have enough to fill a box. We're probably going to do another giveaway with it, and some other jasper.

Congrats over 1k subscribers. There is a wealth of mineralization in that country and it always seems to find its way to the Rogue river in one form or another. You are fortunate to be there.

I've always had a strong connection to the land. I'm constantly feeling amazed and blessed. There are so many times I come around a corner to see something new. Morning coffee made with spring water on top of Agness Pass overlooking the Rogue Wilderness is about as close to a religious experience as you can get without a preacher present. ;)

That red rock (orbicular jasper?) is incredible!!
Hey, thank you for offering indentification, or suspected ID while hunting. It’s super helpful for us newbies to narrow out what to read up on when we find new rocks. There’s a lot to learn.
    I appreciate you.

Thank you. I know some of the detailed discussion can be dry. I'm planning to offer more detailed content in the future. Those 3 examples are the only known examples of Orbicular Jasper found in this watershed. It's my personal quest to find the source because that light green flash is a rather pure form of Gem Silica. The rarest form of Chalcedony. We're going to auction our screen found collection for our 3 season collection on the Rogue River. I'll be posting a video to cover that in the near future. Thanks for watching.

I’ll be following your content. I like “dry” content because I’m a hardcore nerd. I think I may have a specimen that’s similar. I’ll be digging it up to compare.

Holy crap is right! Crazy awesome jaspers. Would you call that yellow one orbicular with the super small dots? The red one is just so amazing, I would of lost it if I found that one lol

Thanks. I would loosely define it as orbicular. Karen T. Nitpicker-Rockhound, would call it yellow grape cluster jasper encased in clear chalcedony. Her vegan life partner Ken might call it a Monochromatic Plume Agate. Happily, all 3 are true of it. What you call it depends on how much the "Exerts" are paying for it at the gem show du jour ;)

It's hard to capture those tight shots and it takes my lens a few seconds to find the right focal length. I'm going to be putting out a few more of the slideshows to show some of the really delicate patterns.

Is that piece of jasper you find about the 6:30 mark considered chrysanthemum jasper?

Great question. There might be a trade name of something similar. I prefer to use general descriptive terms so it helps the widest possible audience. The trade name might give the impression that the item could only exist where the trade name was given.
