Excellent! I saw this tour. Very underestimated album

The only band in the world that should ever back up Roy. So flippin great.

I was at Tramp's (NYC) when the band invited Roy Wood to play "California Man" and "Blackberry Way" with them. That was probably around September (I remember it was not cold out). A couple of fans up against the stage knew all of the words to Blackberry Way and were singing them at the top of their lungs. While waiting in a line outside to get in, someone yelled, "Hey everyone - there's Robin!" And Robin walked from the street into the front door, waving to everyone. I was numb for probably 5 minutes.

I can so hear the influence of John Lennon in his vocals. Love Cheap Trick.

Digging deep for this one…”Welcome to the Thermos” ! it is always interesting hearing Bun E.’s approach to different tunes. Rick’s chugging bass, and Stewkey in fine form make this for a great listen already. Considering the rarity of the players and moment in time, this document becomes an even more relevant audio treasure. ‘

Extremely generous of you to share these fantastic photos and recordings. Amazing sound quality (and even more Amazing you can find machines to play these old tapes). Fun to hear Rick’s Lead Vox on Ramblin’ Rose and the drum intro for Idea makes it so Cheap Trick (yet another obscure pop classic I am discovering here). Love the way the set disintegrates (gtr string break?) with Ain’t Got You way back in ‘71. Subscribing to your channel is like being enrolled in musicological epistemology 101. So revealing. You covered some of the coolest songs on the planet (that most of us have never heard). So many of these songs could be Cheap Trick songs. Was it hard to get bookings? Audiences must have thought you were playing all originals back in the days when I’m guessing most promotors wanted cover bands.

Down was almost grunge/ alternative 20 years early...became a emo/pop gem. Matthew Sweet definitely listened to some Cheap Trick growing up..Take Me could be on his Girlfriend album.

My vibe would have to start with .. This Fucking Rocks !! I am jammin on the headphones now but I gotta get this cranking through my big boy speakers. Bluetooth turntable for Pops at Christmas if that will hopefully remedy the situation.

Love the bunny logo on Bun's big 26" bass drum. I remember seeing that same logo on his drum kit when they opened for Meatloaf at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain view, CA in maybe 1996. Great concert!!!! 👍🎸
