Back when bands weren't always on tour (Cheap Trick and Ramones being the exception) I loved the in between albums shows for it's uniqueness. But that's an interesting classification when The Doctor was less than a year old and album cycles were only growing longer.
I saw them on 7/4/87 at The Mansion outside of Springfield, Illinois playing this stuff… loved I Want Be Man! For an encore, Robin said “ say Rick! Would you like to play another song for these fine people?” “ Fuckin’ Ayy, Robin!” And then they played the lick it smell it suck it, etc. etc. song
Mr. Bun, I really appreciate these posts! Standing on the Edge, Next Position Please, All Shook Up, Woke up with a Monster, are all fantastic albums and severely UNDERRATED!!!🏴☠️😎🖤
This was the last tour with Jon Brandt. Possibly the last show was the Labor Day weekend at Davis Park in 87. Saw Milwaukee a few weeks before. You can find that show as a radio broadcast 93 QFM.
It's Chippewa! I was at this show. The band rocked. They were tight and put on a great show. The recording sounds much better then the show did. The PA was pushed beyond it's limit and was loud and distorted for the entire set. Cheap Trick is one of those bands I grew up with. I still remember the first time I heard Live At Budokan! Awesome 8 track!
@@buncarlos4588 Thanks Bun. BTW, I ordered a signed poster from Dan to be delivered to me in Australia. It arrived a couple of weeks ago. It was so nice of him to take the extra time to send it to me. Incredibly sad to hear of his passing.
I am still curious how the decision was made to drop songs off The Doctor out of the setlist so soon. Was it a discussion or was it a lack of a decision like you showed up, there was a setlist on the stage that just didn't have any songs on it and you just played it, collected the check and went home?
Wowsville hyper-drive fractalized and zoomin beyond. 😅😅😅😅🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤😂😂😂
Any chance to hear I Want Be Man live is a treat
Digging How About You pretty hard--looking forward to I Want Be Man!
These 82-87 shows/demos you are posting are mind blowing for us hardcore fans. Thank you so much Bun and the curators who are working with you!!!
YES!
It was great to hear a live, energetic rendition of, "How About You"! Thanks Bun and everyone involved in sharing these gems with us!
Woe, Mr. Rick. ..You gave us much. Thank you.
I can't believe the "house is rockin" tease before "I want you to want me". I would've been heartbroken that it wasn't played
How About You and I Want Be Man make this show. Nice ending, too!
How About You goes down in the canon as one of the greats! Wow, the band is so tight and powerful here. Thank you!!
oh my god! So good!
Love this stuff. Love CT. Drugs anyone? These are great snapshots in time!

You could release this as a live album as it is, it's that good.
Thanks Bun E👍🏻

The drums on this sound great. What kit is it? One your Ludwig custom orders? I recall around this you started on the red and orange sparkles.
I was using a silver sparkle Ludwig set.

Their audience response had diminished
