Such wonderful time capsules these early recordings are - especially for those of us who were 4 years old when they happened! I must admit to never thinking I would hear this kind of stuff years ago - this is pure gold! Xeno has really grown on me over the years and I see him as a great place setter for Robin.
What a cool show! It says so much that the band isn't covering Behind Blue Eyes, it's My Wife. They're not playing Sweet Jane, you get Waitin' for the Man. Like a Rolling Stone? Nope, you get them channeling Manfred Mann's version of Please Mrs. Henry. Yet your favorite weirdos somehow conquered the Midwest and later the world. Accept no substitute
I have listened to all of bunnies bootlegs already unless I missed one. The best is the earliest cheap trick before they got signed when they were just running through covers. These guys are Masters at their craft. Even when they take an old Terry Reed song like off the first album everybody thinks it's a cheap trick song. @@8thGradeFilms
Sounds like Rick was listening to Rory Gallagher's version of "Messin' With The Kid", not Junior Wells original, because its an exact copy, even Rory's pinched harmonics. Good version though.
Best channel I've stumbled upon in quite some time.....Rockford guy myself....
Please Mrs Henry in the set. This was my favorite song by your Monday Night Band @ Mary’s Place with Dan McMahon on lead vocal & guitar. RIP Dan.

Thanks Bun. Always good to hear some Slade in the set.

These guys do great covers.
Yes the absolute best interpreters.
Impeccable taste.
Listening to Bun E. Boots has turned me on to a lot of great bands.

Man, the drums are copping a thumping! I assume these are the marine pearl Rogers? The band sounds very well rehearsed.
Drums are super classic Ludwig with extra tom tom.
@@buncarlos4588 Thanks Bun. I have seen photos of that set up.
Borstal Boys!!
