Tobias Gjerde
Norway
Приєднався 24 січ 2014
My name is Tobias Gjerde, and I am a 21 year old wildlife photographer from Norway. Join me as I venture out in the wilderness with my camera by my side to capture wildlife in its rightful habitat.
I Spent 28 Hours in a Floating Hide to Photograph Ducks in the Arctic
In the harbours of Northernmost Arctic (mainland) Norway, a handful species of specialized ducks congregate to overwinter. One such location, is Båtsfjord. Here, hundreds of king eiders, Steller’s eiders, common eiders and long-tailed ducks endure the brutal polar night. Join me as I photograph them from the floating hides of www.batsfjord.com.

WILD REINDEER in a SNOW STORM - A Wildlife Photography Adventure
The pictures of the ruff are amazing, well done again! I wonder if there are still a few breeding pairs of Bar-tailed godwits on the tundra.
Just WOW!
great work !!
it deserves million view !!
Brilliant !! Brilliant !!
As usual, another special video. Your photographic style is so readily identifiable.
Outstandingly beautiful pictures. You already have a distinct handwriting, Tobias !
Great pics, man. I also like your storytelling. Best wishes.
Amazing pictures 😊😊
Where did you go? I am in Switzerland and I would like to find the Bearded Vulture.
Dovre vinterstid å moskus, meget bra. Knallbra video 😊
Very inspiring...10:38 and 16:10 are just incredible pictures. It makes me want to get up.early and go to a lake for some photography
You should have walked away and left this bird alone. You placed it under undue stress, and when they’re ‘rogue’ like this bird is, they are stressed enough.
Fantastic job! New subscriber!!
Beautiful! I love the dipper and the otters. Sometimes the nearby locations give us some of our best photos.
Great episodes, what month did you film it?👍
Thank you! This was filmed in late March/early April
Tobias, you need to go on another wonderful adventure, please...I've watched all of your videos, some twice!!! 😁 ❤
Haha, that's great to hear! It is not lack of adventures that is the cause of my inactivity here on UA-cam, but the fact that I am a full time student at the moment, and don't have time to edit the videos. Editing takes a lot of time, and I barely make any money from the videos, so it's not easy to prioritize. But I have 10 videos in the making, which will probably come out some time in 2025. Stay tuned ;)
@TobiasGjerde I understand and look forwad to your next adventures/videos! 🙂
Congratulations, Tobias, on capturing such stunning photos and footage - new subscriber.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate that, and hope you enjoy my adventures!
great video. where can we rent floating hides in Batsfjord for 3 friends?
Hi, thank you! I have linked the hotel that rents out the hides in the description. Simply call the number or send them an email to rent the hides. Although I think most of 2025 is already fully booked, you can give it a shot.
What a fortunate young man you are, beautiful images and video
Thank you very much!
❤❤❤
🦌💙
loved those minimalistic images , Tobias
That's great to hear. I agree!
no snow in java island indonesia its tropical area but there is more than one volcano or mountain where cold water is forming
❤❤❤
❤
Is 300mm long enough? Or do you crop heavily? Great photos BTW!
Thank you! I used the 1.4 or 2x extender for most of this shoot, so I would recommend at least 400mm.
Georgous little birds! Thanks Tobias! ❤
Totally! Thank you!
Another wonderful video! Thank-YOU Tobias! 😄
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it!
I always look forward to one of your videos turning up on my youtube feed. Amazing footage and images, combined with great commentary and backed by a lovely soundtrack make your films an absolute pleasure to watch. Thanks for posting.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate hearing that!
Beautiful wildlife footage and photos😍 Thanks for sharing! I will gladly leave a subscription 😉👍
Thank you very much! Greatly appreciated!
Since the pictures from Vincent Munier, no pictures have touched me as emotionally as yours now. It makes you want to start taking photos again.
Wow, that comparison means a lot! And I am happy to hear I have inspired you to get out with your camera again. Best of luck on your adventures!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful shots with us.
Thanks for watching!
Amazing and wonderful nature. Only a few know where to find and how to appreciate it. Great shots!

beautiful video. Thank you
Thank you!
Lovely to see Batsfjord in such detail; it really is a fabulous place to see some of the most attractive ducks and waders. Thanks for another superb video.
Totally! Thanks!
The music, the voice over and of course the footage all falls together so nicely. And what mesmerizing views. Well done.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that!
The music is too overwhelming over his calm voice IMHO
It has been a while, but it is well worth the wait. Tobias' inspiring, beautiful artistic expressions of nature to lighten my mood is exactly what I needed. Excellent captures despite difficult lighting in some cases. Well done!
Thank you very much! Greatly appreciated!
W vid as usual
Cheers!
Hi Tobias, really beautiful footage again thx! We once visited Varanger in May which was great birding only we missed the arctic ducks since they were already gone. During what period did you visit Batsfjord, October? Thanks and very much looking forward to watching more birding footage. Best regards, Remco van Beest, the Netherlands
Thanks! This was in March. They come to Båtsfjord when the sea starts to freeze where they breed, which is typically late November/December
Beautiful images and video!
Thank you very much!
Very extrem incredible adventure. Thank you for sharing it. When you look outside your garden, you find the nikon z9 und z8, look at Morton Hilmer
Thank you!
Awesome film again 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks so much!
