BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY | Bearded Reedlings in the freezing cold
Вставка

- As winter arrives in Oslo, a few charismatic little birds make their migration north towards Fornebu, where they overwinter in the large expanses of reed beds that can be found in several of the peninsula’s bays. This bird is called the bearded reedling (or bearded tit). Its beautiful plumage, photogenic habitat and non-shy nature, makes it virtually the perfect subject for wildlife photography. In this video, I bring you along on my most successful photoshoot of them ever! I experience interesting behaviour and get an opportunity to study these stunning birds up-close. Come along for a relaxing video with calm music and beautiful, frosty morning scenes!

Thanks!
Beautiful birds! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for supporting!
They're so ROUND - Thank you capturing images of them they are so wonderful
Hahah totally! When it gets cold, they fluff up their plumage to trap air and better insulate themselves, making them into extremely cute little balls of fluff!
Attenborough would be proud. Truly enjoyable. One thing I miss often in nature documentary is the natural sound of the location and small criticism as beautiful and calming your bg music, if get close up of the findings id love some on set sounds. Your speech is clear and informative. Coudos. 😊
Thank you so much! I totally try to incorporate the sounds of nature into my videos. The only problem is that I like photographing in cold remote places, and cold remote places are typically extremely quiet!
Beautiful video, beautiful shots, beautiful little birds. What a superb light you had in the morning. Thoroughly enjoyed the video.
Thanks so much!
What a sweet and puffy looking bird! Nice video Tobias!
Totally! Thanks a lot!
we do not get them Bearded Reedlings in Wisconsin, but did see them at my sisters home in N. Carolina, chatty little plump birds when talking to their mate , while busy in a fig tree. They have a lot of those grasses there. Beautiful video ..enjoying. thanks, Hope you did not get too cold. I usually put cotton in the toe part of me shoes.
Hi, you must be mistaking them for another species, for bearded reedlings are only found in Eurasia. Fortunately I was well dressed, so the cold didn't bother me :)
Such a beautiful bird, both your video and still photos are amazing, I just discovered your channel here..looking forward in watching more thank you .😊❤️✌️ the bird has very small wings ..little fluff balls 😊
Thanks so much! Yes, they are incredibly cute!

Thanks so much for your support!
You have got talent. Keep them coming!! 😀
Thanks a lot!
This is one of the best bird species videos I have seen in a long time. Such a photogenic bird, and some beautiful conditions and habitat!
It really is, no fear of humans at all. I moved reeds out of the way so that my brother could get a pic of it and it wasn’t bothered at all.
Thanks a lot! Yes, they are virtually the perfect subject for wildlife photography
Wow... super video + great shots !!!👍
Thanks a lot!
Congrats of being Norways young photographer of 2022.

Thank you!
Thank you for sharing these beautiful images. Enjoyed it a lot and will definitely watch the video again. Hope to be able to photograph bearded reedling here in Holland again.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful photos Tobias and an inspirational video. It helps me even more in my choice to have designated the bearded reedling my main subject for this spring, having bummed out a bit on reedlings last season (last year it was savi's warbler).
Thanks a lot! Best of luck!
Wow you got some amazing beautiful shots in the snow.
We don't get the snow or these birds in Northern Ireland so I sure enjoyed watching your video
Thanks a lot! The frosty conditions is what made this outing special, I think
Heia heia, fra kjøl
Takk skal du ha, gode mann ;)
I know this video is 10 months old but it's the first video of yours I've seen Tobias. I absolutely loved it! Thanks a lot!
First video I watch from you and also first one of these superb little birds which are indeed very beautiful and you make them shine even more by this high quality and relaxing edit. Really nice one. Cheers Tobias and wish you the best for your wildlife :)
Thanks a lot! 🙏
thanx!
Thank you!
nice video tobi! they’re not very shy at your location 🥰
Thanks! They are in general not very shy at all, almost whereever you photograph them. However, some locations, they prefer to stay far out into the reed beds, so you need some luck to get them up close
Excellent video and your English is perfect i would make one suggestion that is no music so the sounds of nature and the bird calls can be heard
Thanks! I will continue using music, but especially during spring when birds sing more and the sounds of nature are more complete, I will try to incorporate more of that into the soundscape in my videos
@@TobiasGjerde you have to do what you think is right for you and again great pictures I've been trying to get photos of these birds in England but with no success so far so well done
Elsker videoene dine, men kunne du laget en video om macro foto også?
Tusen takk! Jeg driver ikke med macro foto, så det vil nok ikke skje med det første. Men vi får se hva jeg finner på etterhvert :)
Very nice =) What lens are you using there?
Thanks! I have written all my gear in the description. The lens is the Canon EF 300mm f/2.8 IS II
W video incoming….
Cheers!
