This is the Modjeska Peak doubletrack and the left singletrack. The left singletrack heads towards Santiago Peak. It has become quite the bushwhack, although still possible to descend and still a better option than the Main Divide road if you're out on a busy weekend.

Going down a dry and dusty Skinsuit and Tin Mine on July 10, 2024. Tin Mine is the steepest trail out in the Santa Ana's. In the best dirt, the crux (the last 100 vertical) is a maybe and in this current dirt its a walk.

Buckthorn is a single track that descends from the shoulder of Modjeska Peak. It is similar in difficulty to Motorway, just a bit steeper and chunkier. The trail is clear and free of brush after several days of trimming. Go send!

This is a mountain bike workout at Santiago Oaks: 1. the drops/jumps by the flag at the top of Barham ridge. Warm up on the drops, jumps, skinny. 2. Sketchballs: head over to sketchballs and do a few laps. The climb back up is fairly steep. 3. Head over to the other rock drop area (by Peralta) and work the drops and punch climbs back up over the cliff band. 4. Down Hawk and up Grasshopper.

Upper Joplin is a singletrack off the backside of Santiago Peak that connects back into Main Divide. Hikers coming up from Joplin often will use Upper Joplin as a short cut to the summit, rather than walking the switchbacks of the Main Divide. A call to arms was sent out by Warriors Society's Keith Eckstein to help fix some issues on the San Juan Trail including removing a fallen tree and clearing brush back.
