Mountain Biking Los Pinos Ridge May 2023

This shows the condition of Los Pinos Ridge in May 2023, last year, after the long and record-breaking rainy season fueled the chaparral of our Southern California Santa Ana mountains, causing deep ruts and thick overgrowth on all our trails, especially our backcountry ones likes these.
This is the second chapter of a long ride in which I started at San Juan Trailhead, did a very cold, wet and bushy Chiquito trail to where it intersects the CA-74, then proceeded north on the rugged dirt road of Main Divide to Bear Spring (the water fill up spot at the intersection of Main Divide and Holy Jim), and finally doubled back to descend Los Pinos Ridge. The condition of the trail in this video is a little over grown, but not nearly as bad as Chiquito earlier in the day.

Sick! Was that poison oak in there?

A ton of poison oak earlier on the chiquito section, overgrown and creeping into the trial. I don’t recall seeing any on Los Pinos
