Motorway Conditions 06/2024 - Train and Trim

This video shows the current conditions on Motorway as of June 1, 2024 and how we can easily improve the conditions of the trails we love without too much effort.
By combining biking with a little bit of trail work, an activity I call Train and Trim, it allows me to enjoy biking and simultaneously improve the condition of the trail for future rides. I found for me this is a great way to contribute to the trails I love without taking away my biking time.
Since this recording, the condition has already been improved as I have been continuing biking up and clearing mustard off the trail. Specifically, last night, Tuesday June 4, 2024, I cleared mustard from where I left off at 3:00 in the video, all the way to 3:40. You can see a little more work is needed as at 3:44 I go off the trail because I can't see around the next thick mustard patch.
Did you know that these Cleveland National Forest trails are maintained by volunteers such as myself and sanctioned volunteer organizations like The Warriors Society? The forest service does not have the resources to do brushing work like this. They do larger projects like grading the fire roads in the forest (Main Divide, etc.) but they do not do this detailed trail maintenance work.

Or just go out and clear a bushy section of trail. Its not that hard of work if you combine it with biking or hiking. Train and Trim for the win!
