Near Head On Collision Maple Springs

Be careful descending Maple Springs Truck Trail whether it is on foot, on a mountain bike or in a vehicle. The road winds around through tall bushes so there are many blind turns where oncoming traffic seems to suddenly appear.

The rider passed on Tuesday. He was a friend, we went riding together once and we were making plans to get together again the weekend before his accident. I had no idea it was him until I found out on Tuesday from another friend.

I was don’t trail work on Joplin. Carried a weed whacker up. So I parked as high as I could on maple (where pavement ends)
