9:55 where'd you get your long "reeds" from? I read on another forum that someone suggested using $1.00 goat or hog bristle paint brushes, cut the bristles off and voila, long grass/reeds.

3:04 one thing I've learned from painting landscapes; don't over mix your paint. Allow the different colours to remain separate and that will give you tonal variations when you paint the surfaces. Just like real life.

I used to do O Gauge, but my grandson and I are building an HO layout. I've got a technical question about power supplies. I have a trolley that I'd like to run on a completely separate track from the train. Can I do that with one power supply, or do I need to use a second power supply just for the trolley?

You are very fortunate to have a great selection of railroad items at your store. My only store is limited on railroad items, but are more than glad to place orders for you. They mainly deal on airplanes, and stock cars. I really miss just the railroad store we used to have on Grand Junction, Colorado. Steam locomotive looks good, however all other cars seem to be geared for diesel switcher locomotive. Do you plan on adding any steam train cars that will compliment the engine plus the other cars on the line?

I noticed the double door closet in the background. Do you use the closet? The layout is quite close to those doors. Where do you put your clothes? For a small layout, it really does look nice and well planned out. How does the cat like the layout? Does he jump on the layout when the trains are running and try to knock them over? My two cats have and I was a little upset about it, however nothing broke which I was glad about. Cats are curious seekers. The old adage, "curiosity kills the cat(s) isn't always true but it can happen if any wires under the layout are hanging down low enough that they can chew on them.

Cat is curious about the tree process. Does he want to play with the wires like they are a toy? Most cats would think they are and try playing with them. I never knew how to make trees from scratch. This was quite an educational video. Thank you 👍.

The cat seems content with the layout. He isn't playing with the parts which can get lost in the room. He is well behaved, almost like as if he is a part of the layout.😀 😀

I would have just weathered the pavement before gluing it down. Just keep going til it is close to the other gray pavement, or go with weathered black asphalt. A lot of options.

Ok so I understand that the wires from the track are connected to the “bus” but where is the bus wired into? I’m new into DCC and want to learn more in detail about how to wire track.

The Stuff you guys do, Years ago in the mid 70's, I built a table 8'x10' for my little Brother, We used mostly stuff it the Yard, the Green We bought from the Hobby Store! We used Cement for Mtn-Cliffs and Crushed Cement with a Hammer for the Gravel, Crushed Coal and Real Dirt! 2pwr packs to run 2 Trains, 2 track-switch boards with 4 or 5 tracks on a panel, then we had the electric switch tracks and Lighting, I think there was 17 to 22 switch tracks, lots of wiring, all from an old Telephone cable! I used thin Plywood cut in to track bed, couldn't afford the Cork! The Mountains and the Lumps and bumps in the Terrain were paper mache & Boxes and Chicken wire, again it was Cheap! This DCC looks great, if I wasn't old I would Love to Build one! Thanks for the Video!

All so very complicated. Cut your asphalt roads from thin poster board. If you want to show patches dig out shallow holes and/or use thin blobs of glue. When dry spray your roads with truck bed liner in shaker cans. Done

Hello Sir, Well your followers must be right it looks like you're going for a record for the most layouts started but not finished in a decade. All kidding aside if it makes you a better modeler go for it just try not to repeat the same mistake twice and you'll be fine. I have a question for you have you ever thought about going with a modular benchwork company called Mianne Benchwork. I don't know if you have ever heard of them before or not. Because of my latest health issues I'm thinking of going down that way because if my health continues to go down I'll have to go in that direction and go fully automatic just to run the trains and I won't like that at all. Hello Sir, I never heard of a hobby shop or train store sell only HO and N-Scale products only. My favorite model railroad scales since I was a kid will always be Standard Gauge, Lionel 3-rail, HO and N-Scale. That's what I've been around with all my life. I can't in good faith support a Hobby Shop or Train Shop that doesn't believe in all the scales in model railroading. I Just Can't!!! Thank you for your time Sincerely Allan

One minute I'm looking at the future of a great new layout and then you turn around and it's gone. I'll still support you and follow your teaching skills but I don't understand what happened. I wish you the best on layout #4. I just want you to know that I don't mean any disrespect to you and your craftsmanship. Hello Sir, I was sad when I saw the last episode when layout #2 met its death. After mourning for 2wks I think I'm going to get ready for the birth of layout #3. May this layout rise too its potential and reign supreme for avery long time. You mentioned in your last few videos that some of the cars you own are superior than the other ones you have. Well if that's the case the last Boxcar from Walthers you purchased you said it wasn't as good as the Genesis Boxcar. So I started thinking if I'm such a perfectionist and I like a lot of detail in my life maybe I should apply those yellow safety stripes on all my cars and anything else that would make my layout explode with detail. Do a video picking one of your least favorite cars and make it look like you paid close to $100 for that car because of the detail that was on it. Let me know what you think.
