- I ordered a bunch of stuff off of my favorite website, Lombard Hobbies! I just quickly show off what I got. Ill go into detail of everything as we use it in the layout build series
I filmed this on the 21st so there has been progress don’t worry!!

That's quite a nice unboxing ya got yourself there. Personally, I really like the pink covered hopper for some reason lol. If I may make a suggestion in regard to the layout; I believe it would be a wise idea to add a fascia using Eucaboard or Masonite. Make it about .5-1 inch wider, that way you could Velcro on a curtain at the bottom. This would definitely make the layout look more professional or museum style, if you will!
I appreciate the suggestion! I will do that at some point and actually already have some Masonite but I’ll more likely do it when I have the other sections up

Great video of your mail call of new toys lol! I've got that Aggregate Kit and Pink 2Bay Haliburton hopper car too! Those NS 2Bay Hoppers are sweet looking pieces. Your track looks great so far even though I know it'll go all the way around. I think I mentioned that mine will be U shaped. Im not sure if you will have a chance to read this or not. But in my 24 plus railroad career, many times id encounter those covered hopper cars with close enough numbers that it shouldn't be to difficult to mix them up. Perhaps just by altering the numbers by even two or three digits. Example, 432657/ 432659. Sometimes you're going to see a whole string in a number series. I've seen a group of up to 8,or more all within a couple of cars cars together. Best regards regards and keep up the great job.

Nice train stuff. You should try to do some custom painted cars. I make them myself.

@@TopRailroad ok. Sounds good. I learned how to do it from one of guy's from my train club. Actually my first one was a Lehigh valley gp38-2 engine. I'll have to send you a picture.
Give it about another 2 weeks before he completely tears it down and starts over....lol

You could cover the duplicate numbered hopper with some graffiti. something common amoung railcars.

Great haul! I tried to limit myself to 10 of each car type. You can guess how well that went! 😂
One thing I forgot to ask. Since you’ve used a lot of flex track, do you think you’ll miss the clickety~clack sound of wheels on track joins? I’ve heard people use small cuts in the track to get the sound. Lucky you have the track saw.

Just curious, what made you decide not to use cork under your raodbed...I know some people use it to lessen the sound, others just for the look of raised road bed, just was wondering...
I just didn’t want to hassle with it since what I have now is mostly yards and industry’s. I guess it’s a personal choice. The foam itself does a pretty good job with the sound though

What glue do you use to build the walthers kits? And how do you go through the process?
I use Tamiya Extra Thin Cement and I show how to build one almost step by step 4 videos ago
If I don’t have that NS hopper number, would you care to trade it for a GATX one. It’s a Walthers as well.
I appreciate the offer but I think I’m going to practice weathered and renumbering on that one since it’s not too expensive haha
Just curious, seeing as the hoppers you got were all NS hoppers, with one being CSX, does that mean your switching to modeling NS, or are you sticking with BNSF or doing something completely different?
I just got the CSX and NS ones cause that’s what they had in stock but I do plan to renumber some of them and remove the logos but that’ll be down the line. Not sure what railway I’ll be going with yet either haha
@@TopRailroad oh that makes sense lol. I was just a bit confused that’s all. In theory though it still works to use them, you sometimes do see a few cars from other railroads in trains, especially if a train was being collected for say the BNSF, but it was coming from NS, as BNSF might send one of their locomotives to get it. The other thing to is you don’t even need to model a specific railroad, it’s just a hobby after all!!!
