Great video. Longer videos are my prefference as I don't have to jump from video to video to get the bigger picture. I am at the same point in my layout as you are, so it's going to be a great journey!
Thank you that’s good to know
Switching operations is so realistic 👍
I love the longer video style and showing us as much information as possible. I'm excited to see you put scenery up before I start on my n scale layout. Hope you have plenty of tips for us.
Thank you man! I won’t let you down.. hopefully lol
I like the longer videos, I didn't skip any part. I also love those Walthers Cornerstone kits!
I appreciate it a ton! And same here probably my favorite brand
Thanks for that. It was really useful. I'm thinking of using the aggregate kit on my layout here in the UK so it helped immensely. Lee
Fantastic video from England 👍
Thank you!
very nice, thanks for sharing. Dave
Thanks for watching Dave!
You are a smart modeler. That's what I like about you. You take your time building your models.
Really like the video. Like the longer format also. Look foward to more to come when you add more scenic details,
glad you are back to it and enjoying this new build so far. As a British modeler, US model railroading always fascinates me. Keep it up!
Thank you! And it’s via versa with me, British railroading is something I love to see!
I for one definitely enjoy the longer video. You gave us some great content and I look forward to watching your railroad progress. Thank you for taking the time to include all of us by putting in the extra work to make these videos.

Thank you very much!
I've built dozens of these Walthers kits in N scale, so fun! For kits involving silos, I built up the entire silo section and then painted, weathered and detailed them as to avoid uneven pre-painted areas.
Great job,
Youre like me and always restart new layouts. Love the new direction, much love!
Haha yeah I do have a problem with that. This one isn’t going anywhere though!
Good!@@TopRailroad
Everything is coming together nicely! Can’t wait for the next one
Building a new modern industry in the HO scale layout.
The black cat in the layout.
Scooby Doo bited the tail.
Scooby Dum barked to you cat.
You 😼 with my Scooby.
Looking good!
Thanks as always man!
That was a great build and that facility looks fantastic on the layout. Definitely worth the effort!
Thank you!
Super stoked to see how the scenery progresses
Loved this video! Industry is always my favorite part!
I like how you plan ahead for scenery. I hate a layout with a spaghetti bowl pattern leaving no space for scenery. Trains have to go someplace! Nice work and great video!
Thank you!
Yes. Longer videos are good. Really enjoyed this one. Thanks Top Railroad.
Thank you so much for the feedback!
Hi I like your Walthers Rail to Road Building
Great work!
Thank you
Great video and tutorial of building your Aggregate Industry! Certainly turned out awesome especially with the pit that I like and the rails around it. Definitely shaping up nicely and I think you'll have a awesome layout in due time! Just got one of my 2'x8' tables done yesterday and finishing the other other 2 the same size 2moro. It'll be a U shaped switching layout as I mentioned recently. I'm definitely ready to get this project going! Thanks again Trey for sharing another great video with us along with your PRICELESS time and effort my friend! Cheers from Laurel, Delaware USA.
I appreciate it Shawn! I’m glad to hear you’ve started the construction of your layout, always exciting! Thanks again
Great video. I like this style of video. It’s all looking good.
Thank you!
You should use the spare parts from that kit to make the rusted old shell of one of those things, might look nice.
Awesome video! I purchased the same kit for my next layout, it will be for my concrete and asphalt complex. It looks like it is quite the build! Cheers Brian
Hey, I have been watching your videos for a while now, and I absolutely love them. Keep up the great work!!
Thank you! 😁
Longer videos of layout construction and include train operations for us newbies. Really like your content.
Hi Top Railroad! Great video!
The nice thing about all those leftover sprues is you can cut them, paint and weather them then stick them in a gondola car as scrap going to or from a scrapyard.
Put the extra parts in a scrap box. Who knows you might find a use for them later in another project.
Looking forward to seeing what you do next with the layout!
I never thought of that! Good way to recycle them and put them to use instead of throwing them away. Thanks for watching
That’s one nice model. Lots of extras. Now my layout is N scale, but with the Walthers kits I’ve put together, have had lots of extra parts. I just saved them for future projects. Great video, thanks for sharing.
I save them too cause you never know!
Great video. I’m not going to lie and say that I haven’t watched every one of them in order from the beginning of the series. I personally like the shorter videos as sometimes I don’t have the time to watch a 20-30 minute video. As for railroading or modeling questions, while the internet is a great source of information as is scouting out actual locations, never forget to ask some of your fellow viewers. A lot of us are not only modelers but we also work for the railroad or many industries served by rail. I’ve been a conductor for a major class 1 for almost 25 years and have had model trains since I was a kid.
Wow thank you! Appreciate the feedback as well. And yes I should ask viewers more cause there’s lots a smart people out there. That’s awesome that you’ve been working for the railroad for that long btw
Great job! Longer or shorter videos don’t really matter to me. I just really enjoy watching your layouts come together and come to life. Keep up the great work!
If it's entertaining it's never too long. We can always speed it up on our end.
i really hope you keep this layout and add the expansion. maybe even a farm scene with a field and barn on the other side as to co operate with the grain silos!!!
Walthers Cornerstone Kit.
I need Cornerstone Kit in N scale for my layout.
Walthers.
Good job in the layout.
Thank you!
Great Video liked your Happy Halloween and your GP 40-2 also .
Check them for comments.
Nice video mate. The silo kit came out looking great. All it needs now is a bit of weathering and it will be done. Also I like longer videos. - Nicholas.
Thanks man! I appreciate the feedback as well
Just a suggestion, I seen a article about such a project. Those thick carpet cardboard tubes might work for the silo just got to get one with the right diameter. You could wrap . 010 styrene sheeting around it.
That’s a good idea! You could make a good amount of them for much cheaper that way
I got a Walthers plastic pellet transfer kit recently, for me it's really hard to read the instructions haha! Nice video as always!
I agree 100% they are not easy to understand sometimes
Wow, you are really good at building structures. Much better than me of course, lol. This layout is looking nice, and the operations appear promising. Keep up the work!
I really enjoy your videos. I too have had construction delays in my layout but I am progressing with my track albeit I'm using Tortoise switch machines so that makes for a lot of delays to "think things over" but suffice it to say I am in the blue foam phase at the moment myself. Good luck and I don't mind the longer videos if its something I am interested in.
Nice! The switch machines will definitely take time to sort out! Thanks as always!
I love your videos. Take care bro.
Thank you man I appreciate it
@@TopRailroad hi bro. I just ordered 2 undecorated bay window cabooses. I don't know what I'm gonna make them up as of yet. But I will think of something.
Looking For The Right Building for your Layout can Be Very Tricky But It’s Worth it.
Very true!
Awesome video! I prefer the longer video format. Looking forward to the scenery videos!
Thanks for the feedback!
I'm very excited to see this layout come together! I love long videos. Seeing the whole process in depth is always fun, and it's helpful for viewers who'd like to understand how to tackle similar projects.
Also, is that TheUnluckyTug's TUGS retrospective video I hear in the background at 5:49? Nice. :D
Thank you very much! And yes! I was hoping someone would notice. You got it down to the exact video too 😂👌
The black 🐱 in the layout.
My dog bark to you 🐱, Scooby Doo.
😁😁
Not crazy about building Walthers buildings. Instructions a somewhat vague. But look great when there done.
Your layout is looking great,I’ll be waiting for the next episode.
Those Walthers instructions are a challenge pretty much every time! But thank you!
I keep a handful of nail files around. Great for plastic.
That’s a good tip! Probably cheaper in cost too
@@TopRailroad Emory boards are cheap and plentiful. I shop a lot in the makeup department lol.
Surprisingly enough they have a good amount of things to use for this hobby haha
@@TopRailroad and cheaper!!!!
I use gray primer as a finished color too
Okay cool, I didn’t know if that was bad or not haha
Believe me I use My Dremel to as well to cut my track.
Great work on the layout! The new building looks great, although I personally think I will stay clear of that kit, as it looks like it might be a bit too much for me to put together 😂
Just as a tip for operations, if you put magnets under the track where you often uncouple, then the couplers will automatically open so you don’t have to uncouple the cars manually.
Also, I’m fine with ether long or short videos, if they are long, then we get a lot at once to look forward to, which is nice, but if they are short they are good for reviewing techniques for when your working on your own layout, so I don’t have much of a preference for length, it’s up to you as far as I’m aware, and after all, it’s your channel!
Yeah I was a little overwhelmed when opening it so I don’t blame you 😂 I’ll have to look into getting those uncoupling magnets. Thank you for the feedback
@@TopRailroad no problem! Any magnets work, even just ones from the dollar store!
Hello I'm learning more about your videos and I hope you continue to making more detailed chapters for me to learn about model railroading. I have a question that I noticed toward the end of the video.
While you were backing up your hopper cars to the silos, you paused for a few seconds and you reached for the last hopper car and disconnected it from the rest of the pack manually. Would it have been easier to have a uncouplling track so all you have to do is to push a button to the track in question so it can uncouple the car and it would stay in place?
Keep up the great work you're doing on your new project. I'm going back to continue watching more of your videos so I can learn more about the wonderful world of model railroading.
Thank you for your time
Sincerely
Allan
Thank you for watching! And what I might do sometime is use the magnets and magnet couplers to uncouple easier which is the most simple way but it would still work like the method you stated
Hello I was a afraid that you wouldn't be able to see any of my other comments because of the date the you-tube video was done. So far I've been watching all your past chapters on your earlier layouts that you have worked on leaving some comments or questions about that subject. Do you receive any comments or questions presently from a video that was done one year ago or later?
Thank you for your time
Sincerely
Allan
Very enjoyable and informative Thanks. Sorry if I missed this earlier, why does there seem to be so much space between ties where track sections come together? And why so many solder points for the wiring , is that for electrical continuity?
I fill in those spaces between tracks in the following video I just uploaded. And yes you get better more consistent flow of electricity by soldering all the tracks together. Thank you for your comment!
love the longer vids man. would really love if you would get farther on a layout before starting over lol what it is this like the 4th revision?
Yes this is the 4th one lol. This one is here to stay though!
Great video man, I must say, Lombard Hobbies is the best, I'll definitely order from them online.
Thank you! And yeah there my go to
RTC = Ready-to-Cat
Love it
Really really nice, love the modules exactly what l am thinking of doing, what radius are your curves?
Thank you! There a minimum of 22”
Great video! Do they include all of those extra silo pieces in case you want a taller silo?
I thought that at first but if you make the silos any taller the ladder won’t be tall enough to reach the top sadly
Is this point to point? Or will there be a loop to continuously run?
Eventually it’ll be a full loop. I already have the material for the 3rd of 4 sections
nice nice @@TopRailroad
I'm a little confused You're aggregate silos the build everything looks great The underground dump for each flow car but how many cars can you do at a time I would have thought you would have had a through track or a separate runaround through to the pit so the head of your train would come through or you would backup with say 10 cars it looks like your layout does one or maybe two just didn't get that I have a runaround on the end scale I'm building now with a co-op and my silo system I'll run the train through one end out the other which will take 20 cars will be able to dump and then sightings for empties or for to set full cars to be picked up later I don't know you tell me if I'm wrong or that's just how you wanted to have the layout
I can only do two cars at a time. You are completely right it should be on a much longer track to dump more at a time. I just wanted a small not so busy industry which is why I did it this way. Plus I’m restricted with a small area to work with. Although if I were to go back in time I would move it over a little more to fit maybe 1 more car
Does anyone know of an ho scale layout with RJ Frost and the Grocery Distributors building
I think 25 to 30 minutes is a good amount of time.
Do you know if any company makes a N scale agregate transfer kit
I tried looking and couldn’t find anything sadly. There are silos and such but not exactly like the kit I built
Can you tell me the name of the glue you’re using? I know you mentioned it in the video but I didn’t pick it up. Thanks!
It’s Tamiya Extra Thin Cement. I get mine at Hobby Lobby for like $5
What kind of glue did you use to glue the track down?
Just regular tacky glue
Hi just starting out with ho no tracks yet can I use ez track? To start out with.thank you
You can! It’s easier to put together than the track I’m using! Look up HO scale EZ track track plans online and you’ll find already thought out plans that tell you the pieces you need
whats the green engine called it looks sick?
I agree! It’s a Burlington Northern GP40-2
Hello Did you Build
Get yourself a 3D printer you can make all kinds of buildings that are online. I made 12 n scale buildings and the 3D printer was $230
Wow that’s awesome! I’ve always wanted a 3D printer so I may have to pull the trigger on one at some point
@@TopRailroad I have the ender 3 pro from Amazon and then I get the plastic filament from micro center.
Good to know appreciate the info!
@@TopRailroad only thing you’ll have to do is sand the building a little and paint.
Hope iill get this collections😢😢
