Stagger your feet and get some more stability against the back stop you are using. All that chest weight on the butt of the stock. You can see his heartbeat and breathing, causing a slight shake in his aim, which is why he missed 1 or 2. But overall, great job as that isn't easy shots to take.

Great video John and congrats on your intermediate win and move to Elite! I’m 65 and I signed up for the 2025 NH match as intermediate. I chose it because of the weights/physical. I have been a competition shooter for 25 years and at my peak won a state level 3-gun match (years ago). I have been training for a month (mostly modified CF=easy, Rucking and always wear my PC when practicing shooting) and have 7 months left to train before NH. What physical skills and weights would you recommend? I picked up on your 6-mile ruck with 45lbs. Sandbag over bar (what height?) with 150lbs? Wall climb height? Sled drag weight? Sandbag work? Sandbag weight? Overhead bar carry weight? I did CF pretty hard 10ish years ago and was never better than mid-pack in the open in my age group - scaled. Any advice would be appreciated. So, the one area where physical and shooting seem to be the same is confidence. Walking up to a shooting stage and knowing you can hit the targets at the size/distance is a game changer. Used to have to do this at 300 Yards with iron sights in the Army. Loved when we went to the ACOG and other optics.

Do you preset your magnification settings per stage? If so , for shots ranging from 100 out to 500y, are you using just one ?

Makes the Blackout Defense look amateurish. A5 is great; second best is carbine ext with Tubb rifle spring, H2. Mine gained 60-70 after 300 or so. Burn off some of that SS rifling.

Don’t know if it was nerves but that first target, shots were breaking all around the target. Take your time and you would’ve crushed your time.
