Great video John and congrats on your intermediate win and move to Elite! I’m 65 and I signed up for the 2025 NH match as intermediate. I chose it because of the weights/physical. I have been a competition shooter for 25 years and at my peak won a state level 3-gun match (years ago). I have been training for a month (mostly modified CF=easy, Rucking and always wear my PC when practicing shooting) and have 7 months left to train before NH. What physical skills and weights would you recommend? I picked up on your 6-mile ruck with 45lbs. Sandbag over bar (what height?) with 150lbs? Wall climb height? Sled drag weight? Sandbag work? Sandbag weight? Overhead bar carry weight? I did CF pretty hard 10ish years ago and was never better than mid-pack in the open in my age group - scaled. Any advice would be appreciated. So, the one area where physical and shooting seem to be the same is confidence. Walking up to a shooting stage and knowing you can hit the targets at the size/distance is a game changer. As you described, the physical aspect is the same. Thanks David E.
My transition went like this: my first event (ETTS 2021) I signed up for intermediate. When I got there TTG had put me in Elite. I won third place at that event. I’ve never done anything else. Also, I am in agreement. If you win three, four, five times in intermediate, you should have to move up. This sport is about pushing yourself.
@@sunandshadow_llcWell they do exists in other sports and it's not without reason. But whatever the case, you're doing great in my book. I've finally got the gumption to give it a go. TTG June 3rd.
Great video man. Very helpful👍🏼
Excellent story! I look forward to following your elite journey!

I wonder if there should be a weight class.
Haha that’s an interesting one!
